Mercedes EQ Prices Drop Sharply as Brand Prepares for Electric Future

ArabGT5 hours ago
In a strategic shift that may redefine the luxury EV landscape, Mercedes-Benz has announced significant adjustments to Mercedes EQ prices, cutting costs across its all-electric EQE and EQS models. The move comes as the German automaker gears up to launch an all-new generation of electric vehicles in 2026, aiming to re-energize demand in a competitive market.
Why Mercedes EQ Prices Are Dropping Now
Despite offering innovative technology, bold design, and strong performance, the Mercedes EQ lineup has struggled to achieve its global sales targets. Sources suggest models like the EQE and EQS fell short of expectations, particularly in the United States and Europe. Several challenges have contributed to the situation:
Unconventional styling : The futuristic, streamlined look of the EQ models deviated from classic Mercedes design cues, dividing consumer opinion.
Premium starting costs : Initial Mercedes EQ prices were considerably higher than those of competitors like BMW, Tesla, and Lucid, making them less appealing to value-focused buyers.
Tougher market competition: The influx of new luxury EVs from brands such as Audi and Genesis has intensified the pressure.
New Mercedes EQ Prices: How Much You'll Save
In select markets, discounts have exceeded $10,000 (around SAR 37,500), signaling Mercedes' urgency in clearing current inventory and creating room for its next-generation EV platform. The newly adjusted Mercedes EQ prices for 2026 models are:
EQE Sedan : $66,100 (SAR 247,875), down from $76,050
EQE SUV : $66,100 (SAR 247,875), down from $79,050
EQS Sedan : $101,400 (SAR 380,250), down from $105,550
EQS SUV: $91,100 (SAR 341,625), down from $106,400
These revised Mercedes EQ prices reflect a clear strategy to boost accessibility without compromising the premium experience.
Is Now the Right Time to Buy?
For luxury EV enthusiasts, the latest Mercedes EQ prices represent a compelling opportunity. Both EQE and EQS models feature high-end interiors, Mercedes' MBUX infotainment system, and competitive driving ranges. With lower entry points, the EQ range now appeals to a wider demographic previously priced out of the market.
What's Next for the Mercedes EQ Lineup?
These price reductions do not signal retreat but rather a realignment. Mercedes is preparing to launch its new MB.EA-based electric architecture in 2026, which will deliver enhanced range, faster charging, and a more dynamic driving experience.
Alongside this technological evolution, the brand plans to revisit its design language, bringing it closer to the timeless elegance of the S-Class and E-Class while maintaining the advanced identity of the EQ brand.

Baby Grok: Elon Musk Launches Kid-friendly AI Chatbot

The tech billionaire and founder of artificial intelligence startup xAI, Elon Musk, has unveiled plans to develop a new AI app, called Baby Grok, focused on delivering child-friendly content. The new app aims to provide safe content for children, marking xAI's first move towards producing AI tools dedicated to children, to ensure they can access to digital assistance without being subject to inappropriate content. Baby Grok On Sunday, Elon Musk surprised his followers by announcing the launch of the new app. 'We're going to make Baby Grok, an app dedicated to kid-friendly content,' he posted on X. We're going to make Baby Grok @xAI, an app dedicated to kid-friendly content — Elon Musk (@elonmusk) July 20, 2025 Although he did not provide details, Baby Grok is expected to be a more-child friendly version of the Grok AI chatbot, developed by Musk's xAI, according to Fox Business. This version will be simpler and designed for safe and educational interaction with children. Musk's Criticism of Social Media The CEO of Tesla and SpaceX has previously criticized social media and their impact on kids. In May 2024, Musk warned of the negative effects of children's exposure to social media. 'A lot of social media is bad for kids, as there is extreme competition between social media AIs to maximize dopamine!' he said in an interview with Viva Technology. Musk also urged 'parents to limit the amount of social media that children can see because they're being programmed by a dopamine-maximizing AI.' Baby Grok Features The Baby Grok app is designed to keep children safe from harmful material and address concerns related to algorithmic content safety for younger users, according to the Times of India (TOI). By providing child-tailored content, Baby Grok aims to filter out adult or controversial topics and deliver age-appropriate responses. It also aims to provide simplified user interface for children. Moreover, it will provide educational and entertaining interactions suitable for children of different age groups. The new app will also integrate strong parental controls and safety measures to enable families to review and manage conversations. The launch of Baby Grok comes as major tech companies face growing criticism after their generative AI chatbots gave inappropriate responses to minors. Hence, Musk's child-focused app seeks to meet the growing demands for a safe AI support in home and educational settings. Grok 4 Most recently, Musk's xAI launched Grok 4, which it describes as 'the most intelligent model in the world.' It has cutting-edge features such as advanced training capabilities and real-time search integration. Grok 4 can also use powerful tools to find information from X, using advanced keyword and semantic search tools and view media to improve the quality of its answers. 'Grok 4 is the first time, in my experience, that an AI has been able to solve difficult, real-world engineering questions where the answers cannot be found anywhere on the Internet or in books. And it will get much better,' Musk posted on X. The tech billionaire reiterated his confidence in Grok 4 capabilities. 'I think it may discover new technologies as soon as later this year. And I would be shocked if it has not done so next year. So I would expect Grok to literally discover new technologies that are actually useful no later than next year and maybe [the] end of this year,' Musk said. Grok Controversary Two weeks ago, xAI's Grok came under fire as the chatbot delivered controversial responses which included hate speech and insults to political figures. X users shared screenshots showing Grok praising Adolf Hitler, in response to users' queries. Other screenshots included insults to Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and Polish politicians, including Prime Minister, Donald Tusk. After these posts went viral, the company acknowledged the issue and said it was working to fix it. Then, it apologized to users and said the issue was caused by a code update. 'We have removed that deprecated code and refactored the entire system to prevent further abuse,' xAI said at the time. Short link : Post Views: 22

Macan 2025 Marks a Million Milestone and Porsche's Bold Electric Shift

Porsche has officially reached a major production milestone: the one-millionth Macan has rolled off the assembly line at its Leipzig factory in Germany. But this isn't just a number—it's the dawn of a new chapter as the Macan 2025 becomes the face of Porsche's all-electric evolution. Designed to lead the brand into a future defined by innovation and performance, the Macan 2025 is not just another compact SUV—it's a turning point. Macan 2025: The Compact SUV That Changed the Game First introduced in 2013, the Macan quickly became a key player in the luxury SUV market. By blending sportscar DNA with SUV practicality, it carved out a space all its own. Over time, the Macan even outpaced its larger sibling, the Cayenne, in global sales. The arrival of the Macan 2025 reaffirms Porsche's confidence in the model as it shifts entirely toward electrification. A Factory Reinvented for the Electric Future Porsche's Leipzig facility—operational since 2002—was significantly upgraded between 2011 and 2013 to support flexible manufacturing. Now capable of producing combustion, hybrid, and electric vehicles, the plant is at the heart of the Macan 2025 production effort. This transformation also brought thousands of new jobs and expanded Porsche's production capabilities for a diverse and evolving lineup. The One-Millionth Macan: A Glimpse Into the Macan 2025 Era To celebrate the million-unit milestone, Porsche unveiled an electric Macan 4 in Frozen Blue Metallic. Featuring a 100 kWh battery, a range of 612 km, and 270 kW fast charging, this version accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.2 seconds. This electric marvel isn't just a symbolic gesture—it's a full embodiment of what the Macan 2025 stands for: uncompromised performance with a future-focused design. Luxury and Innovation in Every Detail The Macan 2025 doesn't just bring electric power—it elevates the driving experience. From Adaptive Sport Seats and a panoramic sunroof to an augmented reality head-up display and a premium surround sound system, this SUV was engineered with detail, comfort, and cutting-edge technology in mind. It signals Porsche's intent to lead—not follow—in the EV space. Macan 2025 by the Numbers In 2024 alone, Porsche delivered 82,795 Macans around the globe. While this may seem modest compared to brands like Toyota, within Porsche's portfolio, it's a clear best-seller. The Macan 2025 builds on that momentum, aiming to dominate the premium electric SUV category and push Porsche further into global EV leadership. Gasoline Macan Fades, Electric Rises In Europe, Porsche has confirmed the end of internal combustion Macan production, signaling a full transition to electric. While gas-powered versions may remain temporarily available in the U.S., the Macan 2025 represents the brand's electric commitment. This next-generation model is not a retrofit—it's been designed from the ground up for a zero-emission future. More Than a Milestone Celebrating one million units is significant, but what makes the moment truly powerful is what lies ahead. The Macan 2025 encapsulates Porsche's electric ambitions and its refusal to compromise on luxury or performance. It's more than an evolution—it's the foundation of Porsche's electrified legacy.
