"The way I look at life is every day spent unhappy is a wasted day, and we were both having a lot of unhappy days," he added. "I still obviously care for Jacqueline but if we can't make each other happy then we shouldn't stay together. Life is too short."

'They stayed in touch sporadically and would bump into each other at events and their messages got pretty flirty.
'Some were seen by mutual friends.
'She would call him 'D' in texts and it became an open secret among their circles.
'There is no suggestion anything sexual happened, but it's fair to say there was a spark between them.'
Former Towie star Dan is adamant nothing happened romantically between the pair, even suggesting that the text messages between them were 'deep fakes or AI' when asked.
A pal said: 'Dan is devoted to Jacqueline and would hate for any suggestion of impropriety.
'Of course, it's possible for a man and woman to be mates.'Despite this, Dan has reportedly sent grovelling messages to Jacqueline – with whom he's trying to repair his marriage to – after the news broke.
Yet the EastEnders actress appeared to show her sadness as she posted lyrics to an emotional song about "not wanting to be seen" shortly after the news broke.

The Chase's Mark Labbett caught in awkward moment on new dating show
Our community members are treated to special offers, promotions and adverts from us and our partners. You can check out at any time. More info "The Beast" from The Chase, Mark Labbett, experienced an embarrassing moment on Celebs Go Dating when he dozed off during a date. The 58-year-old brainbox, renowned for his sharp intellect and straightforward manner on ITV's hit quiz show, was caught on camera taking a snooze mid-date. The filming for the latest instalment of the Channel 4 dating programme took place last month, where it was noted that the spark was missing between Mark and his date. An insider remarked: "Mark was yawning a lot and drifted off briefly. It was a bit of an awkward moment. It's safe to say there wasn't much of a spark between them." Mark, who previously weighed in at 29st, tied the knot with his second cousin Katie in 2014 but they parted ways after six years. He later found love with TV host Hayley Palmer in 2023, although their relationship lasted only a year, reports the Express. (Image: Getty Images) Discussing his time with Hayley, 43, Mark confided to The Sun: "She's a lovely lady and I was very lucky to date her for a year, and as I said: it's me, I got old." He continued: "There's been no one since Hayley. I'm not saying there won't be another one. But I'm certainly not looking." Delving into his past romantic life, Mark shared: "I was single, not coincidentally, for a long, long time when I was a 29st maths teacher who knew it was quite hard to attract a partner then. So I'm quite comfortable without a partner." Mark's spokesperson provided a witty reply when queried about the date: "If his date was as boring as you have suggested, I'm surprised he didn't take a pillow with him!" (Image: IG) It comes as new research by Betway has found the best Chaser. As of June 2025, there are six official Chasers: Mark Labbett, Shaun Wallace, Anne Hegerty, Paul Sinha, Jenny Ryan, and Darragh Ennis. The team analysed factors like accuracy, win rate, and highest target caught, to rank the best Chaser of all time. Financially, Paul Sinha is the Chaser who comes out on top. Paul 'The Sinnerman' Sinha boasts a 78 per cent win rate across 436 appearances on The Chase. His average target to beat is 19 and holds the highest average Chaser win total, raking in £14,651, making him the most financially successful chaser on the show. Meanwhile, Mark 'The Beast' Labbett has a 76 per cent win rate over 475 episodes since he started in 2009. Labbett holds the record for the highest average target to beat, at 20, and the highest accuracy in the final chase, answering 83% of questions correctly. Topping the ranks as the best Chaser on television is Anne 'The Governess' Hegerty. With 467 appearances and a win rate of 79% - the joint highest of any Chaser - it's no surprise that she's regarded as the most formidable opponent. In the final chase, Hegerty averages 13 correct answers in the 60-second timeframe, with an average target of 19, the second highest among her peers. Celebs Go Dating declined to comment on the incident.

In November, we reported how the former West Ham ace had put his Essex pile on the market with an £8.5million price tag. Andy, 36, then went Instagram official with his romance with celeb make-up artist Lou Teasdale, 41, in October, with the lovebirds flaunting their romance in a recent trip to Ibiza. Yet the property transaction, with the huge home now under offer, will no doubt be positive news for the footballer moving forward. Andy, now with French side Bordeaux, bought the six-bed house in Essex from singer Sir Rod Stewart five years ago for £4.1million. It is set in 25 acres and boasts a pool, tennis court, boating lake and football pitch. The estate agents branded the pad an "impressive Grade II listed country house in a spectacular setting with far reaching panoramic views." A source previously opened up on mum of three Billi's hurt and her reluctance for Andy to now arrive at the property unnannounced. They said: 'Billi has been left hurt and blind-sided that Andy appears to have moved on so quickly with Lou. It feels very public and embarrassing, especially as they only split in summer. 'Billi has a close-knit family and they have been left livid with Andy over his lack of loyalty, but are rallying around her to support her. Former England striker Andy Carroll openly kissed and cuddled new girlfriend Lou Teasdale at the sun-kissed Balneario Beach Club in Mallorca 'Billi wants to cut ties but she doesn't like the idea that Andy can come and go as he pleases. "She realises the house is part of their divorce discussions, but she doesn't want him turning up unannounced, particularly with his new girlfriend.' HAPPY CHAPTER The property sale follows The Sun's exclusive reveal that the former Premier League ace had set his sights on getting wed - as he admitted his divorce from Billi Mucklow, 37, "can't come quickly enough". His plans to propose to glam girl Lou came after he told pals he is "madly in love" with the stylist. Recently, Lou had taken to her Instagram page to upload a series of snapshots showing her in Milan, Italy. Andy was quick to comment: "WIFEY," along with a ring Emoji. Lou responded with a melting face Emoji to show her emotion. Andy has also spoken candidly about his "different world" with Lou shortly after the pair jetted off on their first holiday together as a couple. Pals now say he intends to wed former One Direction hair stylist Lou when his divorce with his baby mamma Billi is finalised. A friend said: 'Lou is already telling her mates they have discussed marriage and Andy thinks he's met his soulmate. "Their connection is so strong. "He has never felt like this before.' 6 Mum of three Billi didn't want Andy turning up at their home unannounced after the break-up Credit: Instagram 6 Andy's pals claim he is set to propose to One Direction stylist Lou

This came after it emerged he'd been quizzed by cops over a machete attack at a wake in February 2025. Kyle broke his silence on his exit, saying: 'I fully co-operated with this police investigation and made it very clear that I had no involvement in this incident. 'I am not a violent person and any suggestion otherwise is a mischaracterisation.' Another Islander, Dejon Williams, was also questioned by police after being accused of stealing a woman's phone on a night out. He told The Sun: 'I was never arrested. I voluntarily spoke to the police to clarify the truth about what happened in this incident, with no further action taken. "To stress, my intentions here were entirely honourable and it is very upsetting to read claims that suggest otherwise.' ITV was aware of the incident with Dejon when he secured his place on the show, a spokesman confirmed. On June 4, 2025, Love Island revealed professional rugby player Conor Phillips would be taking his place — here's everything you need to know about him. Who is Conor Phillips? Conor is a contestant in the starting lineup for Love Island 2025. Brutal twist rocks villa as bombshell enters during first episode The 25-year-old rugby pro plays for Munster's academy and has represented Ireland at U20 level and in the international 7s. Conor's looking for "someone who is really sure of themselves, ambitious, a bit of a go-getter and good craic. I like dark eyes and I don't mind a dominant woman". When it comes to turn offs, he added: "Being too needy, or needing to do everything together. "I like someone to be independent and do their own thing and then we come together and do our thing." Speaking to press, Conor revealed the most unusual place he's had sex. He shared: "Probably behind a nightclub, I think, is the craziest, to be honest. Hopefully this is the right place, and it should be, you know, because you're in a lovely villa surrounded by beautiful people, so I'm hoping that this is the one Conor Phillips "I know it's nothing too crazy. I was young as well." He also opened up about how his mother feels about him joining Love Island. He said: "It's a weird one for parents. My mam will be quite reserved and low key. So, it's a bit out of her comfort zone. "But again, she knew that I'm an adult, so I'm going to make my own decision, and she's going to support me. Admitting he'd broken show rules before entering the famous villa, Conor revealed he'd sought advice from past winner Greg O'Shea. Islanders are forbidden from revealing their involvement in the series before it starts. 4 Conor has never really been in a long relationship and believes Love Island is the right place to find a partner Credit: Instagram Fellow Irish rugby player Greg, 30, won series five alongside Amber Gill. Conor shared: "I know Greg through rugby circles so I spoke to him about going on Love Island. "He just said 'be yourself, it's a really really really cool experience that not many people get. "So enjoy it and yeah take it day by day and if you can be yourself you can't really go too far wrong'. "So that's my plan. He was like 'my advice might be a bit different from others because I won'." He added: "I'm 25 and I've only had one relationship and it wasn't very long. "So I feel like I'm maybe doing something wrong or maybe I'm not in the right places. "So, hopefully this is the right place, and it should be, you know, because you're in a lovely villa surrounded by beautiful people, so I'm hoping that this is the one."
