Toyota Kirloskar Motors' Sales Jump By 33 Per Cent In April'25
The growth momentum was sustained despite a maintenance shutdown from April 21-25, 2025, undertaken for the upkeep of machinery and equipment to maintain operational efficiency, productivity, and safety.
Toyota Kirloskar Motor also claims that it closed the last fiscal year with its highest-ever sales in India. Toyota also claims that the sales record reaffirms its growing customer trust and the market's preference for quality, reliability, and robust after-sales support.
Speaking on the sales momentum, Varinder Wadhwa, Vice President, Sales-Service-Used Car Business, said, "The sustained growth is a testament to our unwavering commitment to offering the Indian market the right products and technologies at the right time. Our multi-pathway approach, which provides diverse technology options, has enabled us to respond positively to shifting customer needs and has ensured strong demand across our line-up."
Adding further, he said- "We are also encouraged by the positive response to the recently introduced Urban Cruiser Hyryder, now equipped with enhanced safety, comfort, and convenience features - further strengthening its appeal among customers. Looking ahead, we will continue to be guided by customer voices, responding with agility and precision in introducing products and value-added services that align with rising expectations."
Toyota is also gearing up to launch the Urban Cruiser BEV in India. The electric SUV was up for showcase at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. It will be manufactured at the same facility as the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara, in Gujarat. The company has been tightlipped about the launch, however it is likely to make its way to the Indian roads by the year end.

India will resume issuing tourist visas to Chinese nationals after a five-year gap, starting July 24, Reuters quoted the Indian embassy in Beijing as saying on Wednesday. In October, the two countries announced that they had reached a patrolling arrangement along the Line of Actual Control, 'leading to the disengagement' of the two militaries in eastern Ladakh. The agreement came two days before Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping held a bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the BRICS summit in Kazan. This was the first formal meeting of the two leaders since the military standoff began in mid-2020. In January, the two countries agreed to resume the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra this summer, restore direct flights and ease visa restrictions after Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri met Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Sun Weidong in Beijing. In July, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankart said during a meeting with Chinese Vice President Han Zheng that relations between both countries were ' steadily improving ' and called for the continued normalisation of the bilateral ties.
