Delhi To Gurugram In 25 Minutes? Nitin Gadkari Proposes New High-Speed Corridor
Officials are exploring the feasibility of a direct express link from central Delhi — via Talkatora Stadium or Gyarah Murti — straight to Gurugram.
A transformative high‑speed corridor is in the works that could shrink the travel time between Delhi and Gurugram to just 25–30 minutes, thanks to a proposal unveiled this week by Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari. According to The New Indian Express, officials are exploring the feasibility of a direct express link from central Delhi — via Talkatora Stadium or Gyarah Murti — straight to Gurugram.
The corridor is part of a broader initiative to slash the current hour‑long commute along NH‑48 and congested arterial roads. With the aim of easing cross‑city traffic, the plan is being developed in concert with both the Delhi government and central agencies, with Nitin Gadkari steering coordination efforts alongside CM Rekha Gupta.
The project is intended to divert pressure from traditional routes such as the Ring Road and the NH‑48 corridor.
In tandem with this ambitious express corridor, other infrastructure initiatives are poised to relieve traffic between Delhi and Gurugram:
Urban Extension Road II (UER‑II): Often referred to as Delhi's 'third ring road,"this 75 km semi‑circular highway, is nearing full operation by August 2025. It connects NH‑44 in the north to NH‑48 near IGI Airport, bypassing central Delhi and reducing pressure on both Inner and Outer Ring Roads, with predictions of up to 60 per cent reduction in commute time for airport, Gurugram, and Noida traffic.
Dwarka Expressway (NH 248‑BB): This 27.6 km, 16‑lane expressway between Shiv Murti (Mahipalpur) in Delhi and Kherki Daula toll plaza near Gurugram was fully commissioned in June 2025. It now offers an alternative route to NH‑48 and connects seamlessly with UER‑II and IGI Airport.
Elevated corridor from AIIMS to Mahipalpur/Faridabad Road: An elevated highway is being planned from AIIMS through Nelson Mandela Marg in Vasant Kunj and onward to Gurugram‑Faridabad Road. This project will relieve congestion on Ring Road, ease south Delhi connectivity, and dovetail into the emerging high‑speed link to Gurugram.

Delhi Chief Minister On Air Quality Dipping To 74 For The First Time In A Decade
New Delhi: Citing the latest Air Quality Index of 74, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Sunday highlighted the government's ongoing efforts to reduce the city's pollution, and claimed that for the first time in a decade, the index has come down to such a satisfactory level. Inaugurating a "Jan Seva Kendra" in the Greater Kailash Assembly constituency, the Chief Minister said, "Apart from cleaning the air, we are also committed to cleaning the Yamuna and ending the mountains of garbage." She said her government, after taking note of the public concerns over the proposed ban on end-of-life (EOL) vehicles, approached the court and got a stay on the ban till November 1. "Going forward, bringing the public's voice to every platform, addressing their needs and demands, is our responsibility. As this is not the same government that only made hollow promises. Today's government is genuinely working to reduce Delhi's pollution," she said. CM Gupta said she aspires to make the city so beautiful and habitable that people are not forced to shift out of here. Calling her government's decision to allow commercial establishments to operate 24x7 historic, the CM said, "The licensing process is also going to be simplified and replaced with a single-window system." The CM slammed the earlier AAP government and legislators, saying, "Earlier, MLAs remained confined to their offices and homes. But each MLA of the BJP is now working tirelessly for the public." At an earlier event, she said the government is aiming to ensure that the bed per 1,000 patient ratio should improve to 5 from the current level of around 2.7. CM Gupta also announced her government's plans to introduce a PPP model for purchasing medical equipment in hospitals and complete the development of the 24 hospitals whose construction was suspended midway by the previous government. Later, taking to the social media platform X, the CM said, "Today, the Jan Seva Kendra was inaugurated in the Greater Kailash Assembly constituency and dedicated to public service." "This centre will serve as an effective medium for resolving the problems of the common people, providing information about the schemes of the Central and State Governments, and delivering prompt assistance to those in need, in line with the commitment of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to service and good governance," she wrote. "The BJP's double-engine government is committed to ensuring that development, service, and rights reach the last person in line in a time-bound manner," she wrote.
