Aamir Khan's son Junaid Khan's debut 'Loveyapa' failed at the box-office. It was a film that also starred Khushi Kapoor. In an interview with Raj Shamani, the actor broke his silence on why his son's film bombed.
Aamir Khan said, 'When Loveyapa released, I really liked the film and thought Junaid had done a good job. The role he played was quite different from his real personality. Junaid has this quality — he transforms into the character.'

He added, 'I think the film received a lot of negative backlash. It was heavily trolled and got dragged into the nepotism debate, labelled as a 'nepo kid' film). But Junaid and I are not like that. Until now, I've not interfered in his career, nor do I want to. In fact, I discouraged him from formally learning acting.'
Junaid Khan on Nepotism
In an interview with Humans Of Bombay, the actor acknowledged the privilege that comes with nepotism and said nobody has written anything negative about him on social media just as yet as he's not on the platform so he's unaware.
In another interview last year, Juanid said, 'I think as actors, we often audition for a lot of things. Sometimes you get certain parts, sometimes you do not. Before Maharaj, there were films for which I auditioned but did not get. '
On being an AD
I don't know if it has helped me as an actor much but it teaches you how a set runs. I was lucky enough to be on a set where we were actually shooting on a 35mm film. PK was the last film to be shot like that. So you really get to know your workspace and the nuts and bolts of how it functions. And I think that's always helpful to know your workspace and where you want to be working to understand how it works. But I don't know if it gives you any direct assistance as an actor.

Aamir Khan Says Imran Khan Doesn't "Fit" In Bollywood Because Of THIS Reason
Last Updated: Aamir mentioned that Imran isn't comfortable with "herogiri". Imran Khan, the nephew of iconic Bollywood actor Aamir Khan, entered the Hindi film industry with significant expectations. However, he disappeared from Bollywood after a short stint. In a recent chat with SCREEN, Aamir mentioned that Imran isn't comfortable with 'herogiri" and thus finds it difficult to 'fit" in Bollywood. Aamir Khan said, 'Imran has a certain creative instinct. He finds it difficult to fit into the mainstream construct we have. That's not his natural space. Which is why he'd do really well in a film like Jaane Tu and Delhi Belly. He's in his element there." He added, 'But the moment you put him into a regular Hindi film, he won't fit. He's not comfortable with herogiri. He wants to play a real person. Everybody was offering him mainstream films because he's good-looking. But he wants to be an actor, and not a star." Imran began his career as a child actor with brief roles in films like Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak and Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar, appearing alongside his uncle. His adult debut came in 2008 with Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na, which catapulted him to fame. Directed by Abbas Tyrewala and produced by Aamir Khan, Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na was a youthful romantic comedy that resonated with audiences. Imran's portrayal of the sweet and sensitive Jai Singh Rathore, opposite Genelia D'Souza, gained him widespread recognition and the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut. His boy-next-door charm and natural acting style made him an instant favourite among the youth. After his successful debut, Imran appeared in a series of romantic comedies and light-hearted films, including I Hate Luv Storys (2010), Break Ke Baad (2010), and Mere Brother Ki Dulhan (2011). He established himself as a modern romantic hero, often playing the affable, slightly awkward lover. In 2011, Imran took a bold step with Delhi Belly, a dark comedy produced by Aamir Khan. The film was a critical and commercial success, highlighting his versatility and willingness to experiment. He followed it up with Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu (2012), a nuanced romantic drama that was moderately well received. However, after 2012, Imran's career began to decline. Films like Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola (2013) and Gori Tere Pyaar Mein (2013) underperformed at the box office. By the mid-2010s, he had stepped back from acting, expressing dissatisfaction with the roles being offered. In recent years, Imran Khan has largely stayed out of the limelight, occasionally appearing in interviews or public events. In 2023, he hinted at a possible comeback, sparking interest among his fans. Although his Bollywood journey was brief, Imran Khan left a distinctive mark during a time when youthful romantic comedies were thriving. First Published:

Aamir Khan Reveals He "Almost" Worked With Mani Ratnam On Lajo: "Didn't Work Out For Some Third Reason"
New Delhi: Aamir Khan, currently busy promoting his upcoming film Sitaare Zameen Par, has opened up about a missed opportunity to work with acclaimed filmmaker Mani Ratnam. The actor revealed that he was close to collaborating on a project titled Lajo, which ultimately fell through at the last moment. 'I have always been a huge fan of Mani and have wanted to work with him for the longest time. I have met him many times, been to his house, and we have had wonderful conversations," Aamir said, in an interview with Galatta Plus. He added, "We wanted to work with each other and almost did, Lajo, but that didn't work out for some third reason. Nothing to do with him and me. I am a big admirer of his work, and one day I hope we will work together." Lajo was set to be a period musical drama set in pre-independence India, based on Indian Urdu writer and feminist Ismat Chughtai's short story. The film was to star Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor, with music composed by AR Rahman and lyrics by Gulzar, as per reports. Despite the promising lineup, the project faced several hurdles. Reports suggest that creative differences between Aamir Khan and Mani Ratnam, coupled with challenges in acquiring the rights to Chughtai's story, led to the film being shelved. The film's producer, Bobby Bedi, faced apprehensions regarding the project's budget, especially after the commercial performance of Mangal Pandey. Coming back to Sitaare Zameen Par, Aamir Khan's 90-year-old mother Zeenat will be making her acting debut in the film. His elder sister Nikhat will also be a part of the movie. In an interview, Aamir shared the story of his mother's unexpected cameo in his film. The actor said that one day she expressed her wish to visit him on set and he happily obliged. Later, during the filming of a happy wedding song in the movie, director RS Prasanna requested that she be part of the scene. While Aamir initially thought it was an absurd idea, he eventually asked her to make an appearance in the scene and she surprisingly agreed. "She is there in one or two shots. It's the only film of mine that she has ever been a part of. I don't know what came into her. She is turning 91 on June 13, a week before our film's release," the actor said. Sitaare Zameen Par features Genelia Deshmukh as the female lead. There are 10 debutantes in the movie - Aroush Datta, Gopi Krishna Varma, Samvit Desai, Vedant Sharma, Ayush Bhansali, Ashish Pendse, Rishi Shahani, Rishabh Jain, Naman Mishra, and Simran Mangeshkar. The film is scheduled to release on June 20.
