Backpacker found alive after disappearing in the Australian outback
The Western Australia Wheatbelt District Police announced Friday that Wilga "has been located safe and well in the Wheatbelt" by a member of the public and has since been taken to receive medical attention. Police reported she has some injuries and was heavily bitten by mosquitos.
Officials said she was found near the edge of the Karroun Hill Nature Reserve where her car was found Thursday, almost 22 miles from the main trail of the reserve, deep in an area of remote bushland where few people tend to explore. Overnight temperatures also dipped below freezing at times where and when she was lost.
Police told the press Friday just about a hour before she was found that her vehicle, a Mitsubishi Delica Star Wagon, was stuck, and she was unable to free it. Wilga was discovered by someone as she was on foot along the edge of the reserve. The last time she was seen before that was on June 29 at a store in the town of Beacon.
The area in which she disappeared is described as "outback country," with rocky outcrops and several trails. WA Police Acting Inspector Jessica Securo said Friday after Wilga was found that "it would be easy to become lost or disorientated in that area if you didn't know it well."

One taken to hospital after vehicle rollover in west Ottawa
One person was taken to hospital following a single-vehicle collision at March Road and Halton Terrace on Saturday evening. Ottawa Fire Services received a call from the Ottawa Police Service at 5:24 p.m. about a vehicle rollover, and after arriving at the scene confirmed that the vehicle was on its side with one person trapped inside. San Francisco rescue crews help person in distress near Ferry Building pier
Rescue crews in San Francisco helped a person who was in the water near the Ferry Building pier on Saturday, the San Francisco Fire Department said. Around 9:30 a.m., the Fire Department, police, and the U.S. Coast Guard were called to the Ferry Building on the Embarcadero for a person in distress. San Francisco Fire said the adult was off the pier, and rescue swimmers and ground units were deployed to help. Rescue Boats 35 and 1 also responded to the scene. Someone on a Bay ferry threw a life preserver ring to the person, and rescue swimmers and the boats eventually arrived and helped get them out of the water. San Francisco Fire said the adult was taken to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.

One dead after Orem house fire Friday morning
This is a developing story. ABC4 will update this post as new information becomes available. OREM, Utah (ABC4) — On Friday morning, crews responded to a house fire in Orem and rescued one individual from the home, who later passed away at the hospital. According to the Orem Fire Department (OFD), they responded to a call for a fire at a multi-level home around 10:29 this morning. The fire was significantly involved on the first floor. Additionally, a resident was still inside the home on the 2nd floor. Using ground ladders, firefighters and an officer, they were able to access the 2nd floor bedroom and bring the victim down. Courtesy: Orem Fire Department via Facebook Orem Fire Department Critical Care Paramedics provided treatment for smoke inhalation to the individual. The individual, who has only been identified as male, was transported to the hospital. Unfortunately, the individual succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. The Orem, Provo, and Pleasant Grove Fire Departments were able to get the fire under control by 11:03 a.m., though there is significant damage to the home. At this time, OFD is still investigating and has not identified any cause for the fire.
