But he has told his followers that their Happy Heat Pump Podcast will be coming to an end after only 20 episodes.
The podcast was first launched in November 2024 and growing a following of fans, with over 900 subscribers on YouTube.
However, Evan has now said the podcast will no longer produce episodes.
Posting on social media, the BBC radio host wrote: "Sorry to say that after about 20 episodes, we're drawing it to a close at the request of the BBC, which worries it may be seen as steering into areas of public controversy.

"The BBC legitimately regulates its presenters' external activities.
"And for good reason, they like us to avoid stepping into live arguments.
"Thanks to the thousands of folks who've listened. The episodes will remain online.. a great introduction to heat pumps."
His followers were shocked at the announcement and one person said: "This is shocking! I thought the move to heat pumps was inevitable so where's the controversy?"

"How the hell are heat pumps controversial? This says more about the BBC to be honest." added another.
A third exclaimed: "Controversial? Are heat pumps seen as left wing? I think this is more a reflection of the BBC than anything else."
Dragons' Den's Evan Davis reveals brutal reason he was chosen by BBC bosses to host hit show ahead of new series
While another added: "This is sad news, that the BBC seems to be scared of its own shadow.
"The only way to enable people to take an informed view on controversial matters such a net zero is to provide fact based advice.

"This podcast seems very much in keeping with those BBC values."
"The BBC kowtowing to vested interests...THAT'S the controversy. That's the bias" added another follower.
Evan's official description of the podcast on YouTube reads: "It's a UK objective to replace gas boilers over the coming two decades, with heat pumps being seen as the obvious alternative.
"It will be a massive project to change the way we heat our homes - we might be installing 25 million of these devices in the next three decades.

"So what are they? What do they cost? What are the positives and negatives of heat pumps?
"Always curious about the scale of the transition upon which we are set to embark, Evan will be looking at heat pumps in a dispassionate way, with Bean helping along the way… hoping to inform you if you're thinking of buying one.
"Or if you work in the industry, or if you are simply interested in the journey to net zero."
"Please do get in touch with any questions and we will try to answer them in future episodes happyheatpumppod@gmail.com or please leave a happy comment."

Who are Sunderland's most skilful players ever?

Throughout Wednesday, we are revealing who Sunderland legend Marco Gabbiadini believes are the club's most skilful players fifth place, its 1960s and 70s legend Billy Hughes. Hughes was an integral part of the 1973 FA Cup-winning side and Gabbiadini told BBC Radio Newcastle the striker brought a different skillset to other forwards of that time:"People have always talked to me about Billy Hughes. He was involved in a very successful team, and he is just one of those players who fans really engaged with. He was a little bit different - not a big bustling centre forward, which was the norm in his era. "He was wave-like, almost like George Best. "He scored really interesting goals. When you see them, they are really clever and he really used his imagination. For me, that is what defines his skills."Listen on BBC Sounds - and come back later for the rest of the list!

Shamed BBC star Jermaine Jenas axed from ITV show amid sacking and sexting scandal Jermaine Jenas will not be part of the ITV team covering Soccer Aid this weekend after being sacked by the BBC last year Jermaine Jenas will not be part of ITV's Soccer Aid coverage (Image:) Jermaine Jenas will not be part of the ITV team covering Soccer Aid this weekend , amid the ongoing fallout from the BBC's dismissal of him over allegations of workplace misconduct. The former England international was sacked in August over claims he had sent inappropriate texts to female colleagues. Jenas was removed from his role as a presenter of The One Show and a pundit for BBC Sport after an internal investigation was launched. ‌ Jenas saw his contract terminated by the broadcaster and ultimately also parted ways with his long-term agents MC Saatchi in addition to being let go from his role presenting Formula E. In previous years, Jenas has worked alongside Maya Jama as part of ITV's coverage for the charity match Soccer Aid, with Dermot O'Leary and Alex Scott taking on presenting duties. ‌ The latter pair are set to host once again as England take on a Rest of the World side with Wayne Rooney and Tyson Fury co-managing the Three Lions at Old Trafford on Sunday. According to Mail Online, ITV did not consider Jenas to be part of the production. Given Jenas' recent controversies, the channel did not want to draw unwanted attention to an event centred around charity. It is claimed that ITV still has a good relationship with the former Newcastle and Tottenham midfielder. Jenas has returned to football media work following his departure from the BBC. After a brief hiatus from his presenting role on talkSPORT, the 42-year-old made a guest appearance and resumed his commentary duties in February. There's a reason why you're in this position and there's a reason why this has happened. "Once you accept those things, then you can work on yourself and you can work on the other things and you can work on your family and work towards a brighter future. ‌ "Essentially, this is about me looking inwards, making some improvements and coming back a better person." However, in March, Jenas' long-term partner Ellie Penfold announced their separation. The couple, who have four children together, had been in a 16-year relationship. "After 16 years together and 4 wonderful children, Jermaine and I have decided to part ways. "We will remain friends and continue to co-parent. We kindly ask that you respect our children's privacy during this challenging time. Thank you, Ellie."
