Govinda's wife Sunita feels actor not getting work because of chaplus circle
Actor Govinda's wife Sunita Ahuja, known for her unfiltered opinions, recently reflected on her husband's acting career. She said the actor doesn't seek advice from genuine people, but from those who always praise him blindly. Sunita admitted getting into arguments with Govinda because she would always give her honest feedback about his films.Sunita emphasised her husband's inner-circle, claiming that most of the people there either lie or say things to flatter him. In an interview with The Powerful Humans podcast, while speaking about Govinda's career decisions, she said, "Why hasn't Govinda been seen on the big screen for the past 17 years? Because the circle around him is completely wrong."advertisement"Sab wah-wah karne waale log hain. Mera aur Govinda ka jhagda bhi hojaata hai kyunki main naa jhooth nahi bol sakti aur chaplusi nahi kar sakti. Aaj iske pass ek writer hai, secretary hai, ek friend jaisa vakeel hai, sab faltu (They are all people who just keep praising him blindly. Even I end up fighting with Govinda because I can't lie or flatter people. Right now, he has a writer, a secretary, and someone acting like a close friend—all of them are useless)," she added.
Sunita also revealed the unrealistic feedback given by her husband's advisers. She added, "Kyunki sirf wah-wah karna hai. Wah chi chi bhaiya kya kamaal kardia. Abey tu sach toh bol. Hum sach bolte hain to chidhta hai voh. All they do is say things like, 'Wow Govinda brother, what a brilliant job you've done!' (I mean, come on, at least tell him the truth. But when I speak the truth, he gets irritated)."advertisementAhuja shared that she has tried to school her husband several times, to make him realise that he's not living in "the '90s". She also mentioned the emergence of OTT platforms in her interview, and explained how Netflix is the it thing today."Look at what's working today—Netflix and OTT platforms. But he's stuck in his 'Wah-Wah Productions' circle," she said, adding that she has asked him to create a new circle of creative people who have the potential to show him the mirror. Mentioning Govinda's frequent collaborator from the '90s, filmmaker David Dhawan, she said. "I told him to change the people around him, because as long as those four or five people are with him, they won't let him grow. David (Dhawan) said the same thing."Sunita, while reflecting on Govinda's successful career, said, "Someone who was delivering non-stop hits in the 90s starts believing, 'I'll do solo-hero films, and they'll work.' But Bade Miyan Chote Miyan wasn't a solo-hero film. Aankhen wasn't either.""The people around him planted this myth in his head: 'Sir, you are Hero No.1—your film will definitely work!' But where do solo-hero films work today? You need a strong subject and a good director—only then will it work." she concluded.advertisementSunita, in another interview with Zoom, said Govinda is sitting at home, while actors of his age, including Anil Kapoor, Suniel Shetty, and Jackie Shroff are doing good work.Govinda was last seen in Rangeela Raja, directed by Sikander Bharti and written and produced by Pahlaj Nihalani. He hasn't featured in any film project since then.Must Watch

Smriti Irani signs for 'Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi' sequel, set to return as Tulsi Vira: Report
In a move set to excite millions of Indian television viewers, actor-turned-politician Smriti Irani has reportedly signed the contract for a sequel to the iconic show 'Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi'. Smriti Irani is expected to reprise her beloved role as Tulsi Virani in the new series, which is anticipated to run for approximately 150 episodes. Media reports suggest the sequel will offer a contemporary twist while retaining the essence of the original's classic storytelling. According to a report by Zoom, Irani finalised the agreement for 'Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2' on June 8. This development follows earlier speculation that, despite having commenced filming, Irani had not yet formally signed a contract. It was only earlier this week that producer Ekta Kapoor reportedly sealed the long-awaited deal. Recent sightings of Smriti Irani alongside Amar Upadhyay, who portrayed the original Mihir Virani, at Ekta Kapoor's recent birthday celebration, further fuelled the anticipation. Actors Karishma Tanna and Anita Hassanandani were also noted attendees at the party, hinting at potential involvement or support for the new project. 'Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi' remains one of the most successful shows in Indian television history, significantly shaping the careers of its cast members. The series, co-produced by Shobha and Ekta Kapoor, centred on the ideal daughter-in-law, Tulsi Virani, her marriage to Mihir, and their family life. It aired from 2000 to 2008, debuting alongside 'Kaun Banega Crorepati' and holding the top spot in TRP ratings for an impressive seven consecutive years. Irani herself earned five consecutive Indian Television Academy Awards for Best Actress – Popular, along with two Indian Telly Awards for her performance.

She pointed out how people around him intentionally don't let him realize his worth. She stressed that Govinda not working is the only reason why she engages in a fight with him. "Main usko bolti hu, tu kaam kar. Public tujhe miss kar rhi hai. Main bolti hun tu weight lose kar kam se kam 20 kgs. Usne mujhe 6-7 saal pehle bola tha ke main Sylvester Stallone banke dikhaunga, kyunki he is one of my favourite actor. Maine kaha woh is janam mein toh hone nahi wala, agle janam mein tu mujhe pati ke roop mein nahi, bete ke roop mein chahiye," said Sunita. "(I tell him to work. The audience is missing you. I also ask him to lose weight, at least 20 kilos. He told me 6-7 years ago that he would lose weight and become like Sylvester Stallone because he's one of my favourite actors. I told him, that's not going to happen in this life. In the next life, I don't want you as a husband but as a son)." Sunita Ahuja went on to add that Govinda has been wasting his time because of the people around him. Blaming his social circle, she highlighted that these people misguide him as they benefit from the Partner actor. Furthermore, Ahuja mentioned that she advises him to choose directors wisely to match the contemporary cinema standards. The 50-year-old admitted that Govinda is living in the 90s era which is why his comeback is still awaited. In the same interview, Sunita remarked how the Hero No. 1 actor gets angry because of her honest criticism. "Tu mujhe paisa nahi de raha hai ki main teri chamchagiri karu. Main idhar kisi ke baap ki chamchagiri karne nahi baithi (You are not giving me money to flatter you. I am not sitting here to flatter anyone's father)", concluded Govinda's wife.
