Manchester City Council had instructed people without tickets not to travel to Heaton Park to 'protect nearby livestock, preserve parkland and keep everyone safe.' It comes after the newly dubbed 'Gallagher Hill' was fenced off on Tuesday, July 15, restricting views from a popular spot where fans without tickets gathered to watch the Mancunian band perform on stage. Andy Byron Statement Floating Around Social Media Is Duping Everyone

The Thursday, July 17 news cycle has been dominated by the CEO of a significant company getting into hot water for his actions during a concert at Gillette Stadium during Coldplay's latest stop on their world tour. During the concert cameras pointed to a man with gray hair later identified as Astronomer CEO Andy Byron hugging a woman, later identified as Kristin Cabot. Spotted by the "kiss cam", the two immediately darted in opposite directions as lead singer Chris Martin suggested the two were either shy or having an affair. Martin clearly didn't know what he unearthed as social media caught wind of the video and quickly learned Byron is a married man - and not to Cabot. Byron and Cabot both work for Astronomer, a private data infrastructure startup that achieved 'unicorn' status in 2022 with a $1 billion or more valuation that currently stands at $1.3 billion. A press release announcing Cabot's hiring in 2024 quoted Byron. 'At Astronomer, our people are the most valuable asset in helping our customers do more to gain a competitive advantage with their data,' Byron said in the release. 'Kristin's exceptional leadership and deep expertise in talent management, employee engagement, and scaling people strategies will be critical as we continue our rapid trajectory. She is a proven leader at multiple growth-stage companies and her passion for fostering diverse, collaborative workplaces makes her a perfect fit for Astronomer.' Byron quickly scrubbed his social media accounts, but an apology statement attributed to the CEO popped up on a social media account claiming to be a CBS reporter. A quick look at the account shows it's a parody, but that didn't stop the post from going viral - with over 630,000 views in just five hours. 'I want to acknowledge the moment that's been circulating online, and the disappointment it's caused. What was supposed to be a night of music and joy turned into a deeply personal mistake playing out on a very public stage," the apology written in Byron's name goes. The fake apology even suggested it was Coldplay's fault for the alleged infidelity becoming public. "I also want to express how troubling it is that what should have been a private moment became public without my consent. I respect artists and entertainers, but I hope we can all think more deeply about the impact of turning someone else's life into a spectacle,' it said. The apology wrapped up by quoting Coldplay's "Fix You." 'As a friend once sang: 'Lights will guide you home, and ignite your bones, and I will try to fix you,'' the apology said. The account that circulated the alleged apology isn't officially listed as a parody account, but it doesn't take much to see that the statement isn't really from Byron. While Byron hasn't issued a statement, Astronomer revealed he has since tendered his resignation. "As stated previously, Astronomer is committed to the values and culture that have guided us since our founding. Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability, and recently, that standard was not met," Astronomer said in a statement before revealing the news. "Andy Byron has tendered his resignation, and the Board of Directors has accepted. The Board will begin a search for our next Chief Executive as Cofounder and Chief Product Officer Pete DeJoy continues to serve as interim CEO," the $1 billion company Byron Statement Floating Around Social Media Is Duping Everyone first appeared on Men's Journal on Jul 17, 2025 Solve the daily Crossword
