Prue Leith's update on Great British Bake Off exit rumours
Earlier this week, Prue appeared on ITV's Lorraine to speak about her role as guest chef at Wilderness Festival in Oxfordshire this month, as she prepares to head a banquet for hundreds of people.
A post shared by Dame Prue Leith (@prueleith)
But she also addressed her future on Bake Off and explained: 'I keep being asked if I'm leaving.
'This is because I left the celebrity [version]. I stopped doing that last year because I just hadn't had a holiday in the summer for eight years. I've only given up Celebrity [Bake Off]."
Confirming she is still a huge part of the original baking show, described as 'mother of them all', Prue added: 'I still do The Great American Bake Off, which we are filming at the moment, and I still do The Great British Bake Off, which I love, and is the mother of them all."
Revealing why the 85-year-old has no plans on going anywhere just yet, Prue commented: "It's the best job in telly. It's absolutely the best job in telly, I don't have to learn lines, I don't have to have a script. I don't have to rehearse. I just walk on and eat cake."
You can watch Prue's full Loraine interview on ITVX.
Cherish Finden is reportedly set to take over Prue's role on the celebrity Bake Off specials in 2026, following Caroline stepping in this year, according to The Sun.

Outlander's Lauren Lyle returns as Karen Pirie for series two of ITV drama
Outlander star Lauren Lyle returns to her role as Karen Pirie in the hit ITV drama for season two - here's an insight into her life off screen. Lauren Lyle first won over audiences as Marsali MacKimmie Fraser in the popular time-travel drama Outlander. Since then, her career has continued to grow from strength to strength. Most recently, she secured a leading role in ITV's crime drama Karen Pirie, with the second season premiering tonight. It was one of the surprise TV hits of 2022, and now Karen Pirie is making its comeback on Sunday evening. Outlander star Lauren returns as the lead detective, once again diving into decades-old cold cases in the highly anticipated second season. Based on Val McDermid's novels, Karen Pirie won over viewers with its gripping storytelling and unique take on the detective genre. Lauren's portrayal of the lead character was widely praised, earning her two BAFTA Scotland awards. Unlike many typical detectives on TV, Pirie is portrayed as approachable, witty and fun-loving with a touch of sarcasm. Lauren has admitted that carrying the weight of leading her own show was "overwhelming" at times, but she's keen to see how audiences respond to the new season. Much different to the character she portrays on-screen, off-screen Lauren likes to keep a low profile. Only occasionally keeping her fans up to date on her life via her Instagram account - which has over 225,000 followers - showing behind the scenes photos from her career and travels. Let's take a closer look into the life of Lauren Lyle, as she returns to her role as Karen Pirie. Early life Lauren was born on July 12, 1993, in the south side of Glasgow, where her family still lives today. Though she keeps her personal life mostly under wraps, fans know that acting wasn't always the career she expected to take. Initially involved with the Scottish Young Conservatives, Lauren made a bold decision to switch paths and pursue acting. Her early performances included an impress performance the Edinburgh Fringe for Fourth Monkey and a role in The Crucible on the London stage. Her talent earned her a spot in the highly competitive National Youth Theatre's rep programme in 2015 - a programme that selects only around 15 actors under the age of 25 to perform a season of plays in London's West End. During this time, Lyle starred in productions such as Wuthering Heights, Consensual, and The Merchant of Venice. Outlander Lyle was cast as Marsali MacKimmie Fraser in Outlander, the TV series based on the best-selling books by Diana Gabaldon, back in 2017. Her character appeared in the show in the third season. Speaking to Glasgow Times about her role, she said: "Outlander changed my life. I don't think I realised going into Outlander how big a deal it was. How big a show, how popular it is and how dedicated the fanbase are." It has now been confirmed that Lauren will be back for the 8th and final season of Outlander, reprising her role as Marsali, alongside her on-screen husband Fergus Fraser, played by Cesar Domboy. Dating life As with many rising stars, Lauren's personal life has sparked curiosity among fans, particularly since her breakout role in Outlander in 2017. Rumours of a romantic relationship between Lyle and her on-screen husband Cesar Domboy (Fergus Fraser) have been speculated by fans for years due to their on-screen chemistry. Additionally, the pair are close off screen as they spend a lot of time together outside of work. During a previous Starz interview, both actors shared that they enjoy exploring Glasgow together on their days off. However neither Lauren or Cesar have confirmed anything publicly, with Lauren often keeping that side of her life extremely private.

Katie Price pulls out of Glasgow Pride gig just hours before being due to perform
Katie Price left her fans disappointed as she pulled out of a scheduled public appearance with just hours to go before she was due on stage at the event Katie Price left her fans disappointed after she dropped out of a public appearance at the last minute. The former glamour model was scheduled to attend Glasgow Pride on Saturday, July 19, but backed out of the event due to "another urgent obligation." Katie, 47, was slated to appear alongside headliners Miriana Conte, Subwoolfer, Kelly Llorenna and Karen Dunbar at the bash. But she decided against making the trip to Scotland for an as yet undisclosed reason. The cancellation comes just weeks after Katie and her close friend and former Atomic Kitten star Kerry Katona pulled out of another PA when they were due to headline Barnsley Pride. They cancelled that appearance due to "unforeseen circumstances" and "personal reasons," with an explanation in full not given. An announcement shared to the Glasgow Pride Instagram account on Saturday confirmed that Katie was no longer going to be attending the event, as organisers wrote, "Unfortunately, Katie Price is not able to attend Glasgow's Pride 2025 due to another urgent obligation. But we do have a message for those who attend Pride!" They then revealed that the event would go ahead hosted by "Showbiz Lion Bev Lyons. Glasgow's own Queen, Miss Bella Houston. And introducing the brilliant Lee Cammy and Garry King!" Fans however were not impressed and took to the comments section of the post to share their dismay. One wrote, "Oh I'm not going now, Katie price isn't there," as a second questioned, "Is Katie price not going anymore??" A third attendee slammed the reasoning as they posted, "Urgent obligation' what a load of bs," while another social media user quipped, "WHERE IS MS PRICE GONE?" Attendees of Barnsley Pride faced the same disappointment when Katie and Kerry pulled out with a Facebook post reading, "We sincerely apologise to all our visitors who are looking forward to joining us for our Barnsley Pride 2025 events. "Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, Katie Price will no longer be headlining our Funny Gals Main Stage / After Dark Official Pride Afterparty. We want to make it clear that this is beyond our control and that we are genuinely disappointed, as we were very excited to have her as part of our line-up of amazing acts." The organiser's statement continued, "Additionally, the original headliner, Kerry Katona, also had to cancel due to personal reasons. The entire team here at Funny Gals shares in this disappointment, and we deeply regret any inconvenience or disappointment caused." Back in May Katie and Kerry also cancelled their entire "tell all" tour, which had been scheduled to visit venues around the UK. An Evening With Katie Price & Kerry Katona was given the axe when Katie was reportedly prevented from committing due to her "busy schedule." A source told The Sun, "Katie is gutted and tried everything she could to make it work but she has had to step away from the tour because she has childcare commitments and also a very busy schedule."
