As well as the BBC posting a photograph confirming the news, the sisters – Alana, Este and Danielle – shared a video of them getting ready for the weekend, donning sunglasses and wellingtons.
The band has long been considered a glaring omission from the Glastonbury line-up, particularly considering their new album, I Quit, dropped this week.
They were also already confirmed to be in the UK in time for the festival, performing a headline show at Margate's Dreamland on Friday.
As a result fans had been speculating for weeks that they would make an appearance in some form.

It was initially believed they were the band 'Patchwork' that will be appearing on the Pyramid Stage at 6.15pm – with the name being the title of a book by novelist Sylvia Haim.
However, that is now widely believed to be Pulp in a comeback after more than a decade away from the festival – and nearly 20 years since they were on the Pyramid Stage.
Secret Sets have become a Glastonbury staple, and as the festival prepares to take a "fallow" year next year, they are making sure 2025 is one to remember with more than 42 'TBA' slots on their line-up.
So far, Lorde opened the Woodsies stage on Friday with a secret set, shutting down the grounds it was on due to the amount of fans descending to the smaller stage.

Celebrating the launch of her album, Virgin, the New Zealand singer played the record in its entirety to the crowd.
Lewis Capaldi also left fans in tears when he was confirmed to be the mysterious "TBA" set on the main Pyramid stage, returning two years since his last performance saw him remove himself from the spotlight completely.
Glastonbury opening ceremony branded a flop by disappointed revellers as fireworks display 'dogged by sound issues'
Franz Ferdinand couldn't resist playfully jabbing at Lewis's return, with the fellow Scotsmen bringing out "the Original Capaldi" for their set in the shape of Doctor Who Peter Capaldi.
Sets have also been forced to change at the last minute – with Deftones announcing that, due to illness, they would be unable to perform on the Other Stage tonight.

In their place, grime star Skepta was pulled in at the eleventh hour to take to the stage, and will be going on at 9pm, with Ezra Collective slightly extending their set as well to fill the time left behind by Deftones.

He made the shocking rant in a video which he posted on Instagram for his 6.1million followers. He said: "Women, you are failing. "You are eradicating masculinity by making society hypersensitive. "Embrace your feminine energy: nurturing, caring, receiving, multiplying, cleaning, maintaining the home, which is the most precious place for us men. "Do not be afraid to be women, to allow yourselves to be led by a man who only wants to see you happy, because we do not know heaven without you. "Holding yourselves responsible for your energy is also a way of loving you. "Men, we are failing in the lack of commitment, putting our partners last, not keeping our word, and not prioritising habits to become admirable. "I understand that we are afraid to speak and truly express what we feel because they are trying to eradicate masculinity, since in certain cases of the past, feminine energy was suppressed, but many of us are here wanting to love you, take care of you, respect you, and provide for you. 8 Javier Hernandez won two Premier League titles at Manchester United Credit: Getty 8 He also spent two seasons at West Ham United Credit: Reuters "But you women must learn to honour masculinity." The sexist ramblings were slammed by fans on social media as they reacted to Hernandez. One posted: "This video really makes you crazy. He has previously spoken about his struggles following his split from model wife Sarah Kohan four years ago. Hernandez played for Man United between 2010 and 2015 when he made his permanent exit to Bayer Leverkusen. That was not the end of his days in the Premier League as he returned to England and joined West Ham in 2017. After two years at the London Stadium, the Mexican had spells at Sevilla and LA Galaxy before joining his boyhood club, Guadalajara. Hernenadez enjoyed great success during his career as he became Mexico's top goalscorer with 52 goals in 109 appearances. The poacher also won two Premier League titles while with the Red Devils. However, since returning to Mexico, he has had his game time limited due to a series of injuries.

Irresponsible Isla Fisher is in cloud-cuckoo land thinking women don't need marriage – here's why we MUST tie the knot
Isla's cheeky 'don't bother with marriage ladies' is tone-deaf and irresponsible... most women won't have the same post-divorce freedom as her 'TONE-DEAF' Irresponsible Isla Fisher is in cloud-cuckoo land thinking women don't need marriage – here's why we MUST tie the knot ISLA Fisher is in cloud-cuckoo land when she tells women not to bother with marriage. In the wake of finalising her divorce from the comedian Sacha Baron Cohen, she re-posted this on Instagram: For all the men who say, 'why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free?' 5 Isla Fisher has finalised her divorce from comedian Sacha Baron Cohen Credit: Getty 5 Isla is in cloud-cuckoo land when she tells women not to bother with marriage, says Emma Wolf Credit: Getty Here's an update for you: 'Nowadays 80% of women are against marriage. Why? Because women realise it's not worth buying an entire pig just to get a little sausage.' She's funny, I'll give her that. Fisher's post was branded 'savage' but telling women not to bother getting married is also reckless, irresponsible and out of touch. For the majority of women with children, marriage is a safety net and an essential aspect of financial security for them and their kid's future. Isla Fisher is clearly bouncing back after the breakdown of her marriage and feeling cheerful enough to post devil-may-care statements. Whether her sausage-and-pig quip was a light-hearted joke or a savage dig at her ex-husband's manhood (as some have suggested) who knows. Last week when both Fisher and Baron-Cohen were photographed at Wimbledon, attending separately and narrowly avoiding an awkward public run-in, she was relaxed enough to cheekily tag him on social media: 'Hang on? Who's watching the kids? @sachabaroncohen' The former Home and Away actress is now a movie star in her own right, and for the past 14 years has been married to the millionaire Borat actor and comedian. With or without Baron Cohen, 53, the 49-year-old is financially independent – and will no doubt be even wealthier after the multi-million-dollar divorce settlement. But for most women the breakdown of a relationship looks a lot less rosy. In fact, many remain in unhappy marriages because of the financial upheaval of breaking up a family and the uncertainty of the future. All The signs Sacha Baron Cohen and Isla Fisher had secretly split from girls' nights out to hiding ring finger Even pursuing child maintenance after divorce can be stressful, with ex-partners not bothering to make payments to support their children. If you're not married the situation is even bleaker. One of my closest friends has three children under ten with her long-term partner. Like Isla and Sacha, they had been together 14 years and she now finds herself single. After years of suspected infidelity, he recently moved out and has set up home with his new, younger girlfriend. My friend had always wanted to get married, both from a commitment perspective and for financial security, but he wasn't keen. They bought a house together, lived together, had three children together, but never made it legal. 'Now I'm left high and dry,' she tells me. 'The emotional fallout has been horrendous, but I hadn't realised I'd struggle financially like this. He works, I work – I thought having a double income would help. But I'm bringing up the children and he doesn't contribute a penny. I guess if we were married, I'd have more rights.' She's certainly right there. Both during the marriage and if fate so has it, after divorce, married individuals have better financial security. They are entitled to marriage allowance during the relationship and all sorts of other tax benefits such as avoiding capital gains tax. The childcare costs when you're a working single mother are astronomical Should the marriage end, assets are divided fairly, one half may have a claim to a share of the other's pension, and if one half earns significantly less than the other then he or she could receive spousal maintenance. I'm a single mother and have brought my 4-year-old son up alone since his birth. We've never had a penny in financial support and that's harder than it sounds. Every mortgage instalment, every council tax, water, gas and electricity bill, the Christmas presents, the swimming lessons or football lessons, every aspect of parenting is on my back. 5 With or without Baron Cohen, Isla is financially independent – but for most women the breakdown of a relationship looks less rosy Credit: Getty 5 Her post-divorce settlement with Borat actor Baron Cohen was worth a rumoured $75 million dollars Credit: Getty Tone-deaf The childcare costs when you're a working single mother are astronomical. If you get sick, you can't afford to take time off, because you're the bread-winner. You don't go for drinks out or dinners or date nights because the focus is on making a living and spending time with your child, and anyway getting a babysitter is a luxury! It's my choice. My son's father has never been in our lives. We are a happy (if small) family of two, and the bond I have with my child is incredibly close. But the responsibility is exhausting – knowing that when your child grows up and needs an allowance, or wants to go to the cinema with friends, or when they get to university, the finances will still be all on you. That's why Isla Fisher's cheeky 'don't bother with marriage ladies' strikes me as tone-deaf and irresponsible. Until recently, getting married was very much about security for women. You couldn't risk getting pregnant out of wedlock, you needed the security of your husband's roof and income, and you didn't want the public shame of being an unmarried mother. In fact, until the end of the 19th century, a woman and everything she owned was basically her husband's property. It was only the landmark legislation in 1882 (the Married Women's Property Act) that gave women the right to own, acquire and dispose of their own property. Until recently, getting married was very much about security for women Everything has changed in the past few decades. We've had women's lib, abortion rights, endless equality legislation, birth control, and far less social stigma around cohabiting and sex before marriage. We have far more freedom to forge a career, earn a living and make our own life choices. Unsurprisingly, marriage rates have been in decline. All the signs Isla and Sacha had secretly split The couple have revealed they actually split last year, despite only just revealing their divorce. Here we look at the signs they had already broken up before revealing their split news: Social media silence - Sacha has been absent from Instagram since last Christmas. Spending time with friends - Isla has been been following that classic post break-up move of spending more time with her girlfriends. Hidden ring finger - No fans noticed at the time, but in many Instagram shots from this year, Isla has hidden her right hand so her wedding finger was not visible in many shots. Missing man - The last image Isla shared of her and Sacha prior to the divorce announcement was back in November last year. 'Think about words' In the 1970s, approximately 7 in 10 people over the age of 16 were married, and by 2024 this figure had fallen to around 4 in 10. It's predicted that marriage rates will continue to drop, with only around 3 in 10 people married by 2050. When my friend says she regrets not getting married - she's absolutely right. Although it's a more level playing field than in previous decades, when an unmarried couple separates they don't have the same legal rights to financial support and property division as married couples or those in civil partnerships. The general rule is that each person keeps their own assets, and joint assets are divided, based on ownership and contribution. Some unmarried couples draw up cohabitation agreements, but many do not – they drift into years of living together, raising a family, buying property, and then end up in terrible conflict and financial strife when their relationship ends. The Fisher/Baron Cohen post-divorce settlement was worth a rumoured $75 million dollars but one thing's for sure: they're not short of a few quid. They won't need to argue about who moves out of the family home and who rents nearby – because they own multiple properties and have been living between Perth, Sydney, London and Hollywood. I know countless women who end up renting or sofa surfing with friends or family after divorce. This celeb couple won't be quibbling about who covers the mortgage or the food bills, who buys the children's new shoes or the school uniforms. Life after divorce clearly suits Isla, she's looking radiant and has her mojo back. She and Baron Cohen are amicably co-parenting, declaring 'we remain friends and committed to co-parenting our wonderful children'. Whatever ended their marriage, the wounds are healing and Isla is clearly excited about her post-divorce freedom. Nonetheless, she might want to think about her words. Forget 'buying the cow or getting the milk for free' - for us everyday women, the break-up is when the hard work really begins…and sadly, if we haven't bought the pig, we're not entitled to so much as a slice of bacon.

Michael Flatley dances around Irish presidency bid
An election for the largely ceremonial role is expected towards the end of October, as it must take place in the 60 days before outgoing President Michael D Higgins's term ends on November 11. Flatley, who is eligible to run as an Irish citizen, said he had not made a final decision on the matter but is consulting with a 'team of advisers'. Speaking to RTE Radio One about newspaper speculation on a potential bid, the Irish-American said he is stopped on the street 'everywhere' he goes and asked if he will run. However, he said that speculation was the result of his last appearance on the show with host Brendan O'Connor. The choreographer and dancer said: 'I take it seriously but no I have not made a decision'. Pressed on the matter, Flatley said: 'I have a huge business to run, I have an army of dancers counting on me to make a living. 'I have a whiskey company, a beautiful young wife and son that I want to spend time with. 'If I thought that I could be of benefit to the Irish people and – maybe more importantly – if I thought I could be a voice of the Irish people' He added: 'Right now, I don't think they have a voice – not a true proper deep voice that you know that speaks their language.' Flatley said he hears they concerns of 'average person on the street' and they are not 'happy right now', adding: 'Somebody has to speak for the Irish people.' He said he was not sure the role needed another politician, adding that he had spent three decades promoting Ireland and Irish culture. He said he had not been approached by any political party, but had been contacted by some 'people in the know'. 'It's certainly not something that I've made any decision on, but it does get frustrating when you see the hardworking Irish taxpayer working as hard out and having no say in things.' Asked if he was leaning more in favour of running, he replied: 'Let it be said that I stand for Ireland and the Irish people.' To be eligible to run, a candidate must be an Irish citizen who is 35 or older. They must be nominated either by at least 20 members of the Oireachtas or at least four local authorities. Former or retiring presidents can nominate themselves. So far, two candidates have secured sufficient backing to enter the race. Mairead McGuinness, who was a TV presenter and farming journalist before becoming an MEP and EU commissioner, is the nominee to become Fine Gael's presidential candidate. Catherine Connolly, Independent TD for Galway West, has received the backing of the Social Democrats and People Before Profit, as well as independent TDs and Senators. Fianna Fail, the party with the most TDs in the Dail, has not clarified if it will run a candidate and is to make a decision in the early autumn. Sinn Fein has also not indicated a final decision on the race.
