Some American viewers have drawn comparisons between the girl and children's book character Junie B Jones and The Grinch character Cindy Lou Who.
The footage appears to start with a young girl in a pink coat and her family having a heated exchange with a group of security staff outside a shop, alongside another group of shoppers.
It's unclear what is being said, but security can be seen separating the two groups of shoppers, reports the Manchester Evening News.
As the clip progresses, the girl and her family depart, before another young girl hurls an unidentified object in the direction of where the security guards and the other group of shoppers are standing.
Another clip, which is believed to have been filmed following the earlier footage, shows the youngster in the pink jacket on a descending escalator accompanied by two security personnel.
She then clambers onto the central divide between the two moving staircases before scaling the stationary upward escalator and ascending the steps.
Upon reaching the trop of the escalator, the footage captures her approaching a cluster of shoppers who are observing the unfolding chaos.
The video then records her confronting a female shopper before proceeding to grab them by the hair.
She subsequently returns down the escalator sporting a grin.

The sequence of clips has attracted polarised reactions, with viewers either celebrating the young girl as a 'diva' or condemning her behaviour.
One individual remarked on the footage: "the pink jacket girl CLIMBING OVER the escalator, going back down it, and then going back up just gag her is frying me like WHO IS THIS DIVA LMFAOOO."
They continued: "this entire situation is so chaotic i'm crying".
Another declared: "That escalator wasn't ready for a diva moment".
Whilst some viewers found the footage amusing, others expressed disapproval of her conduct.
One person stated: "I don't find her behaviour that funny."
Another individual observed: "Parents need to start parenting."
Others also challenged those who were glorifying the behaviour shown in the clip, with one person questioning: "What an imbecile. Endangering others safety as well as her own. Why we calling her diva again?"
One individual remarked: "Hateee the way everyone's hyping this child up, like that is not a diva stop enabling this behaviour omg."
Another added: "maybe it's because i actually have kids and I'd die of embarrassment if they were like this, but the response to this girl overall being "go off queen" is so ****ed."
However, while some believe the incident has occurred recently, the Manchester Evening News has confirmed that the original videos were first posted on TikTok in March 2022 by @dreams_dreams24.
The same user has recently reposted the videos, which has led to 'pink coat girl' becoming a viral topic on TikTok.
Shameless actress Kelli Hollis is among those who have shared their views on the clips online. Describing her as a 'little madam' to her 293,000 followers, Kelli says in a video: "She ain't a little diva, her. She's going to be a little ****ing nightmare is what she is."
She added: "It's funny because it's just pure cheek but she's a little madam."
A spokesperson for Manchester Arndale has now told the Manchester Evening News: "We're aware of a video that has been recently circulated on social media, which shows an altercation that took place in Manchester Arndale and was attended by members of our Security team.

Alex Jones says she feels like she has ‘grown up' with One Show viewers
Alex Jones says she feels like she has 'grown up' with One Show viewers Reflecting on her career on the show, she recounted the impact the pandemic had, adding that viewers kept her "sane". Alex Jones (Image: PA Wire/PA Images) Welsh broadcaster Alex Jones has said she feels like she has "grown up" with viewers of The One Show as she marks 15 years on the show. Jones, 48, who started out in children's TV, joined the BBC weekday chat show in August 2010 and hosted major events including royal weddings, Sport Relief and Eurovision. She has also interviewed a number of Hollywood stars including Robert De Niro, Julianne Moore, Jackie Chan and Stephen Graham. Marking a decade and a half on the programme, Jones said: "I feel incredibly proud to have been on the iconic sofa for all these years. It certainly doesn't feel like 15 years, and it still feels fresh, as the show keeps evolving. I feel like we keep coming back better and better. "I started as a young girl and I feel like I've grown up with our viewers. They have seen me through all my big life moments like getting engaged and married, to having children. Our viewers are like extended family by now. "I'll be here as long as they'll have me. I have loved the last 15 years and love presenting the show and I think we're just getting stronger and stronger, from stories to guests and presenters." Reflecting on her career on the show, she recounted the impact the pandemic had, adding that viewers kept her "sane". She said: "I think that our connection with our audience is stronger than it's ever been. I think that relationship was cemented during the pandemic. "It was a big turning point for the show. We became a lifeline for some of our viewers and they trusted us to reflect on the bizarre situation we as collectively found ourselves, but also balance that with stories that distract from the news. "We were the light at the end of sometimes a very dark news bulletin. The viewers kept me sane as much as I did them." Jones has worked alongside broadcasters including Vernon Kay, Clara Amfo, Lauren Laverne and Roman Kemp. She added: "What a lucky girl I am! I have Roman now, and Vernon and JB, as well as Clara and Lauren, and they couldn't be a lovelier bunch. I think the beauty about this line-up is that it lets the show drive forward, because each one of those brilliant broadcasters, they all bring something very different." Article continues below "It's really nice to have this brilliant team of lovely, seasoned, brilliant broadcasters." She also co-hosted alongside former footballer Jermaine Jenas, before he was removed from the presenting team after alleged issues relating to workplace conduct. Jones also joined the Strictly Come Dancing cast in 2011, making it into the semi-finals and finishing in fifth place with professional dancer James Jordan.

Debate rages after female cyclist pushed into canal
Debate rages after female cyclist pushed into canal Thousands of people have reacted to the shocking footage of a female cyclist being pushed into a canal by a man who told her to 'slow down' as she rode past him and his wife on a narrow path The confrontation between Klaudia Mitura and a dog walker (Image: Kennedy News and Media) Public opinion is split following an incident where a female cyclist was shoved off a path and into a canal by a man who told her to 'slow down'. Klaudia Mitura, 34, was cycling to work as usual when she encountered a couple walking their dog in the opposite direction. Video footage from her bicycle camera shows Klaudia braking in front of the couple, with one of them seemingly yelling at her to 'slow down'. The 34-year-old can be heard objecting about their dog, to which the man responds, 'yeah but you're on a f**king bike'. The man then labels her 'a f***king idiot', and the video appears to show Klaudia being pushed into the water. For our free daily briefing on the biggest issues facing the nation, sign up to the Wales Matters newsletter here . Klaudia, who cannot swim, expressed her fear of 'drowning' as her feet were strapped to the bike pedals, making it difficult for her to escape, reports the Manchester Evening News. The mother of two remained in the canal for five minutes until a passer-by noticed her and assisted her out of the water. The police were subsequently called to the scene. Klaudia stated that she believed she could have died from the push, and the couple didn't even glance back to see if she was alright. The incident sparked thousands of comments and reactions on social media, with some voicing strong views on who they believed was at fault. Klaudia Mitura Lancashirelass66 commented: "The lady on the bike was going way too fast and needed to slow down, maybe the dog was frightened of bikes - what if it had chased you?" She added: "On the other hand pushing someone into the canal is not the done thing and very irresponsible as in this case the lady couldn't swim and the outcome could have been far worse. At the end of the day it's a public path for everyone to use and a bit of consideration on both sides was needed." RedMist expressed: "His actions were a shocking assault and he definitely needs a visit from the police, but canal paths are for everyone and the video looks like the cyclist was going at some speed, so much so, that she had to break quickly when encountering the walkers and their dog." They concluded: "Slow down! A bit of thought for others and everyone can enjoy these paths safely." Ancoats blue shared similar sentiments, posting: "His reaction was a bit reckless, she could have drowned if she'd hit her on something in the water. Having said that, they had a large dog, and cyclists should ALWAYS slow down near animals... and especially so on a tight canal pathway." While Hamstersparadise stated: "Far too fast, Klaudia, especially as he has an animal with him. Having said that, pushing someone in a canal is a definite no no." They continued: "They might not be able to swim (as in this case), they might get injured on underwater debris. Just no. And if it was a spur of the moment reaction, he should have checked she was okay." Sheila Brotherton remarked: "Any normal person would just step aside and let the cyclist past, maybe say a good morning too". Shaw Crafty commented: "Common courtesy to go single file when someone is coming in the opposite direction, whether on a bike or not. Would he have done the same to a walker?". Sarah Horne observed: "The first thing he said was 'slow down' - quite rightly, as she was approaching them far too fast." Sue Sue noted: "The man was protecting his dog and shouted for her to slow down, which she did when she was a bit too close. She saw them from a from a long way off and should have slowed down sooner as to not scare the dog." Collette Twist concurred, stating: "Cyclist was approaching way to fast. And don't know what cyclist said to dog walkers first." Nevertheless, Collette added: "But no excuse to push her in. All of them seemed ignorant, and inconsiderate". Possibly viewing the cyclist as the victim in this situation, Jason Quarmby suggested: "Bet he wouldn't have the same reaction if it was a bloke". Kerry Eaton wrote: "Why couldn't walkers go single file? Cycling is allowed here". Article continues below Meanwhile, Julie McGeown questioned: "She stops. He stands in the way swears at her then pushes her in. She could have drowned. But it's her fault?". Greater Manchester Police have confirmed they are examining the incident, though no arrests have been made at this time.
