These are the best Apple deals in the Amazon Spring Sale, as chosen by a tech expert

Independent30-03-2025
Spring has officially sprung, and so has Amazon's Spring Sale. The retailer's seasonal deals bonanza is in full swing, but you don't have long left to save. There are just four more full days until the deals come crashing down on Monday 31 March.
Unlike the Amazon Prime Day sale in the summer, the Spring Deal Days sale (as it's clumsily called) is open to everyone – with no Prime membership needed. There are already discounts on everything from iPads to MacBooks, Apple Watches and even some of the latest iPhones, though I'm still waiting for the AirPods to come down in price.
Apple products are notoriously expensive, and this could be your only chance to save for months. Apple rarely slashes prices throughout the year, so this is one of the best chances to save outside of Black Friday.
As a tech critic, I've tried all these products first-hand, and so have the rest of the team. That means we know which Apple products are worth the high price tag and which you should avoid. I've covered Apple deals for years, and I'll be keeping an eye on the best discounts as they drop to help you snap them up before they disappear.
It may have been superseded by the iPhone 16 Pro Max, but there's very little separating the newer phone and this older iPhone 15 Pro Max from 2023. Amazon is currently offering Apple's previous generation phone with a huge £220 discount. In tech critic David Phelan's iPhone 15 Pro review, he said it 'delivered outstanding upgrades' over older models and is frankly just as good as the iPhone 16 Pro, boasting the same AI features as its younger sibling. In fact, it's the phone I still use - I don't think the iPhone 16 upgrade is really worth it.
Apple's AirTag won a spot in my review of the best key finders. Waterproof, long-lasting and sturdy, you'll want these attached to everything you hold dear. Right now, Amazon has slashed a pack of two AirTags to the lowest price I've ever seen. In my review, I found that 'for any iPhone owner prone to losing things, investing in an AirTag might be one of the best decisions you ever make'. The precision tracking works wonderfully well when you can get a signal, and it's powered by removable batteries, which is a real bonus.
The latest Apple Watch ultra 2 has just been slashed by almost £100 in the Amazon Spring Sale. It boasts a brighter 3000-nit display, a sleep apnoea-detection feature to track breathing irregularities over time, and an upgraded S9 processor, making it faster and last longer. You also get that neat double-tap gesture feature for one-handed control.
The brand-new MacBook Air M4 came out just a few days ago, and Amazon has already slashed the powerful laptop by a huge £70 in its Spring Sale. 'The machine has been created to be preposterously slim, sharply designed and appealingly light, with battery life that goes on and on, but now it has a much more powerful processor, to ensure it runs even faster than before,' tech critic David Phelan said in his review.
With a small discount, the 2022 iPad has been reduced to its lowest price. In their review, tech critic David Phelan said, 'the new design, faster processor, better and bigger display are easily worth the price, and the new iPad is a real rival to the iPad Air, which usually costs £170 more.' In fact, he went as far as to say that 'this is the best tablet under £500 from any manufacturer.'
There's a £70 saving on last year's 13in MacBook Air at Amazon right now. In their MacBook Air review, David Phelan says, 'the Air's speed and battery life are outstanding and more than enough for almost everyone. In fact, the Apple MacBook Air is the best general-use laptop you can buy, with gorgeous looks, weight and thickness that are the ultimate in portability, and deeply impressive performance.'
Prefer a smaller tablet? You can currently save £70 on the newest iPad Mini in the Amazon Spring Sale. Tech critic David Phelan called it 'a premium device with strong performance' and 'easily the best small-screen tablet you can buy' in his iPad Mini 7th gen review.
This charging station is ideal for a desk or bedside table and can wirelessly charge your MagSafe-compatible iPhone, Apple Watch and AirPods at the same time – at up to 15W speeds. Your phone can be rotated on the charger for FaceTime calls or watching videos, while the clean white design and chrome finish will complement your Apple tech nicely.
The Amazon Spring Deal Days sale is officially underway, running from Tuesday 25 March to Monday 31 March. That means you've got until 11:59pm on Monday 31 March to shop seven full days of Apple deals before the sale ends.
The IndyBest team has covered Apple products for years, putting them through their paces with in-depth tests. We don't just regurgitate Apple press releases but compare all of their products against the rest of the industry to see if Apple's marketing jargon stands up to scrutiny. Our tech experts know how to spot a stand-out product, and what makes a fantastic mobile phone, laptop or set of headphones. On top of that, we've covered Amazon's sales events for longer than we can remember. We know which deals offer genuine value for money and which are too good to be true. Best of all, we only ever recommend products we've tried and tested first-hand.

Ninja Crispi 'transformed my meals' and now the cheapest ever price - only with this code

Ninja Crispi 'transformed my meals' and now the cheapest ever price - only with this code The Ninja CRISPi 4-in-1 Portable Glass air aryer has a large 1.8L capacity, making it ideal for cooking multiple items at once Ninja has cut the price of all its products (Image: Amazon) They're the staple kitchen gadget, airfryers, plenty of households across the UK will rely on these simple worktop gadgets to cook their meals, all be it for a big family or diner for one. Popular for cutting time and money, one of Ninja's newest models is now the cheapest ever price. Worlds away from the brand's dual airfryer basket appliances, the Ninja Crispi is portable, compact, and everything is cooked in a glass container - which can then be used to store food in afterwards. Usually £179.99 there's now a much cheaper price being offered for shoppers. As part of Ninja's 20% off everything sale, the nifty air fryer has dropped to £149.99, one of the cheapest prices since it launched earlier this year. Only if shoppers use the code Ninja20 at the checkout. But is it worth buying? Writer Eve Rowlands has previously tried it out and says the appliance has left her 'enjoying cooking more'. Ditching her Philips Airfryer for the latest Ninja model, Eve swapped to the Crispi model which she says is more 'user-friendly and compact'. As she explains in her review below. Not only was it more powerful than my previous model, but it also looked sleeker. The Ninja CRISPi 4-in-1 Portable Glass Air Fryer, launched earlier this year, and is incredibly user-friendly. Comprising CleanCrisp thermal-shock resistant glass containers (in which the food is cooked - there are two sizes) and a heating lid, it also includes Non-Stick Crisper Plates, 2 Storage Lids and a PowerPod Adaptor. But that's not all that's impressive about it. The Ninja CRISPi, as its full name suggests, has four different functions, all of which can be performed in the glass base: airfrying, roasting, recrisping and keeping food warm (once cooked). Naturally, the function I've used most is air frying. Ninja 20% off everything sale £179.99 £ 149.99 Ninja Kitchen UK Buy Here Product Description The Ninja CRISPi 4-in-1 Portable Glass Air Fryer Cooking is significantly quicker than with my previous air fryer, which is a definite plus. Although I'm still experimenting with recipes, it has a larger capacity than our old model and has made cooking more enjoyable (mainly because it doesn't take forever). I can place vegetables at the bottom and fish on top (on the crisper tray), and they'll cook perfectly in about 15-20 minutes. This is ideal when you're short on time... or if, like me, you're not particularly fond of spending ages in the kitchen. As there are only two of us in my household, I haven't used it to cook for larger groups. However, the device claims to accommodate a 1.2KG chicken and vegetables for up to six people, which could come in handy. That said, some users have reported less success when trying to prepare full meals for 4-6 people using the gadget, so bear that in mind. One person commented: " The only thing that could have been better for us as a family of 4, is making the capacity slightly larger to cook a larger batch." The roasting mode is also incredibly useful, as it uses far less energy than turning on the oven. I've mainly used it to cook one of my favourite complex carbs, sweet potato fries, and am always amazed at how much quicker it is - around 20-25 minutes, depending on the quantity. Cleaning is also a breeze, which is a welcome change from my previous air fryer. The old model had the typical detachable sieve-like tray and base, both requiring cleaning, which was a time-consuming chore - especially as it wasn't dishwasher safe. The Ninja Crispi is sleek, elegant and perfectly compact for small kitchens (Image: Eve Rowlands) However, the Ninja CRISPi has a single glass base, reducing the cleaning task. Plus, it's dishwasher-friendly, which is a significant advantage. I do believe that this machine excels at preparing more substantial meals rather than quick snacks, such as omelettes - something I'd seen people making on social media. After trying it for lunch one day, while the top was wonderfully crispy and delicious, it took over 15 minutes to cook (compared to about seven with my frying pan) and was slightly soggy on the bottom. That's been the only downside of the machine in my opinion. Another potential drawback, according to some, is the price tag of £179.99, which they consider 'quite expensive'. The Ninja CRISPi 4-in-1 Portable Glass Air Fryer is available in three different colours: blue, stone, and sage green. Article continues below Ninja Kitchen's air fryer appears to be the only fully glass air fryer available on the market, as far as I can tell. However, if you're not particularly keen on that aesthetic and would prefer something with an oven-door-style design, the Lakeland Slimline Air Fryer Black is currently priced at £89.99. It boasts seven pre-set cooking programmes and includes a clear-view cooking window for monitoring your food. Similarly, the Instant Vortex is available at Argos for £80.

'Sony headphones cuy by £80 are the best price and quality - I wear them every day'

My go-to pair of headphones from Sony have great sound quality but are a lot lighter on the bank balance As someone who loves to listen to music, a quality pair of headphones is essential for comfort and quality. When my Bose headphones started to tire after five years, I bought a cheaper Sony pair, and they are my best buy to date. Known for its quality, a flagship pair of Sony headphones can cost as much as £399 for the newest WH-1000XM6, a set best known for its noise-cancelling, but the price isn't for everyone. Which is where my favourite everyday pair come in, the Sony ULT Wear - and they're less than £100. Dropping in price at Amazon, the pair are now on sale for £99, that's £80 cheaper than its previous £179.99 price. Despite having fewer specs than their superior sibling, the WH-1000XM6 - the ULT Wear offers a lot for the price, and I wear them every day. Perimenopausal woman loses nearly 3 stone in 5 months even though she 'loves food' Top Tech: Sky vs Virgin Media as one sport plan cut to 66p a day and £260 TV for £0 A reliable pair of headphones with a portable - and importantly comfortable - design, and decent noice-cancelling features. I've previously raved about the headphones' foldable feature and accompanying travel case, as it makes them a go-to for travelling. The only thing to note is that they are bulky compared to my old Bose Quiet Comfort pair from 2017. The standout feature of the Sony ULT Wear, at least for me, is the superb bass. It really brings out the lower tones in the bass, making them louder and more pronounced. Of course, this depends on your musical tastes. Bass is perfect for hip hop and electronic music, and these Sony headphones will definitely crank it up a notch. Other brands which offer superb bass include Bose with its Quiet Comfort Ultra pair, now £299.95. They also have an adjustable EQ so wearers can change the volume of specific frequencies of the music or sound. Alternatively, Soundcore also off superb bass with its cheaper AnkerQ30 Bluetooth Noise Cancelling Headphones, now £79.99. You can toggle this feature on and off with a simple click of the clearly marked ULT button. There's also an Ambient Sound Mode, activated by pressing the smaller NC/AMB button on the left side. This lets in subtle sounds from your surroundings, which I find handy when I'm out and about and want to stay aware of traffic and people. If you're in a situation where you want pure, undisturbed sound (and just the music), you can press it again to shut out any distractions - a feature I often use on flights.

Phone 17 Air: Release Date, Specs, and All the Rumored Features

Apple is preparing to launch its highly anticipated iPhone 17 lineup, with the iPhone 17 Air positioned as a standout model. Designed to replace the iPhone 17 Plus, the iPhone 17 Air strikes a balance between premium design and affordability. With its ultra-thin profile, innovative materials, and advanced technology, this device is tailored for users who prioritize aesthetics and performance without venturing into the Pro-level price range. It represents Apple's effort to cater to a broader audience while maintaining its reputation for quality and innovation. The video below from 9 to 5 Mac gives us more details on what Apple has planned for the iPhone 17 Air. Watch this video on YouTube. Release Timeline Apple has officially announced the release schedule for the iPhone 17 Air, aligning with its traditional fall product cycle. Key dates include: Keynote event: September 9 September 9 Pre-orders: September 12 September 12 Availability: September 19 This timeline ensures the device will be available in time for the holiday season, a critical period for consumer electronics sales. The early announcement and pre-order window allow Apple to generate excitement and meet demand efficiently. Design and Build The iPhone 17 Air features Apple's thinnest design to date, measuring an impressive 5.5 mm in thickness. This ultra-slim profile is achieved through the use of an aluminum-titanium alloy frame, which combines lightweight durability with a premium feel. The frosted glass back enhances the device's aesthetic appeal while providing a comfortable grip for everyday use. The device is rated IP68 for water and dust resistance, making sure it can withstand common environmental challenges. However, some design choices reflect Apple's focus on minimalism. The removal of the bottom speaker leaves the earpiece as the sole source of external audio, which may impact users who frequently rely on speakerphone or external sound. Additionally, the iPhone 17 Air exclusively supports eSIM technology, eliminating the physical SIM card slot entirely. While this aligns with Apple's push toward a more streamlined design, it may pose challenges for users in regions where eSIM adoption is limited. Display Technology The iPhone 17 Air is equipped with a 6.6–6.9-inch display that incorporates advanced technologies to deliver an enhanced viewing experience. Key features of the display include: 120 Hz ProMotion: Ensures smooth scrolling and responsive touch interactions Ensures smooth scrolling and responsive touch interactions HDR support: Offers vibrant colors and improved contrast for media consumption Offers vibrant colors and improved contrast for media consumption LTPO technology: Enables always-on display functionality while conserving battery life These features make the display a highlight of the device, offering a premium experience for everyday tasks and entertainment. However, the absence of certain Pro-level enhancements, such as higher peak brightness or advanced color calibration, may be noticeable to users familiar with Apple's flagship models. Camera Capabilities The iPhone 17 Air is equipped with a single 48 MP rear camera, designed to deliver high-resolution photos and improved performance in low-light conditions. This camera setup focuses on simplicity and quality, making it ideal for users who prioritize straightforward photography. While the absence of additional lenses, such as ultra-wide, macro, or telephoto options, limits versatility, the device still delivers excellent results for most everyday scenarios. Apple has also integrated advanced computational photography features to enhance image quality. These include improved night mode performance and enhanced image stabilization, making sure sharp and detailed photos even in challenging conditions. For users who value ease of use and reliable performance, the iPhone 17 Air's camera is a strong offering. Battery and Performance At the core of the iPhone 17 Air is Apple's new A19 chipset, which delivers significant improvements in efficiency and performance. This advanced processor ensures smooth multitasking, faster app launches, and enhanced gaming experiences. Paired with 12 GB of RAM, the device is well-equipped to handle demanding tasks and future software updates. The iPhone 17 Air features a smaller battery, estimated at 2,800–3,000 mAh. While the A19 chipset's efficiency helps extend battery life, users with heavy or moderate usage patterns may find the runtime shorter compared to larger models. To address this, Apple has optimized iOS to maximize power efficiency, particularly during standby and low-power modes. Connectivity is another area where the iPhone 17 Air excels. The device supports Wi-Fi 7, offering faster and more reliable internet speeds, and features a new modem chip for improved network performance. These advancements ensure seamless connectivity, whether streaming content, downloading large files, or engaging in video calls. Pricing and Positioning The iPhone 17 Air is priced between $950 and $1,000, positioning it as a middle-tier option within Apple's lineup. It sits below the Pro models but offers a more premium experience than the base iPhone 17. This pricing strategy makes the iPhone 17 Air an attractive choice for users seeking advanced features and a sleek design without the higher cost of Pro devices. By replacing the iPhone 17 Plus, the iPhone 17 Air fills a crucial gap in Apple's product range. It appeals to a wide audience, including those upgrading from older models and users looking for a balance between performance and affordability. Notable Trade-offs While the iPhone 17 Air introduces several advancements, it also comes with a few compromises that potential buyers should consider: No bottom speaker: External audio is limited to the earpiece, which may affect sound quality for certain use cases External audio is limited to the earpiece, which may affect sound quality for certain use cases eSIM-only design: May not suit users in regions where physical SIM cards are still widely used May not suit users in regions where physical SIM cards are still widely used Smaller battery: Heavy usage could result in shorter battery life compared to larger models Additionally, there is speculation about the absence of MagSafe, though this has not been confirmed. These trade-offs reflect Apple's effort to differentiate the iPhone 17 Air from its Pro counterparts while maintaining a competitive price point. Final Thoughts The iPhone 17 Air is a well-rounded addition to Apple's lineup, offering a sleek, lightweight design and advanced features at a competitive price. While it makes certain trade-offs to distinguish itself from the Pro models, it remains an appealing option for users who value aesthetics, performance, and affordability. By blending innovation with accessibility, Apple continues to cater to a diverse range of consumer needs, and the iPhone 17 Air exemplifies this commitment.
