The Big Bad Wolf: The Wolf's Revenge Opens at Busch Gardens Williamsburg
Members had the exclusive opportunity to be the first to ride over this past week, and the reviews were enthusiastic, with many eager to ride again and share the experience. Now, the park is excited to open the ride to all guests so everyone can see what the buzz is about. The Virginia park celebrated with a Grand Opening Ceremony, complete with a ribbon cutting, ceremonial first ride, and a DJ dance party. Wolf Scouts from the Colonial Virginia Council of Scouting America joined local dignitaries and Busch Gardens leadership for the inaugural ride.
'Last weekend, we gave our Members the opportunity to preview The Big Bad Wolf: The Wolf's Revenge during our 50th anniversary celebration, and they loved it,' said Kevin Lembke, President of Busch Gardens Williamsburg and Water Country USA. 'The return of the iconic wolf, paired with the nostalgia of our park's history, struck a real chord with guests, and the early reactions have been enthusiastic across the board. The Mean Girls star appeared on the Thursday, July 31 episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert to perform "Shy" from her sophomore album Bite Me. Rapp, 25, sings on a set decorated like a small apartment before leaning backwards out of a brick window and gracefully climbing to the fire escape — while still carrying a tune and wearing heels. "Don't handle me with care / When you're pullin' my hair / Baby, ruin my life," she croons. "I want it bad, I swear / That I'm really not scared / I'm just a little bit shy." "Shy" appears on Rapp's new album Bite Me, which she announced in May and came out on Friday, Aug. 1. She spoke about how her mom manifested her becoming a pop star during an appearance on Amy Poehler's podcast Good Hang with Amy Poehler in May, thanks to her name's alliteration. "My mom chose my first and last name to be, well, okay, arguably chose my first and last name to both have [two letter R's]," she recalled. "She was like, 'Alliteration, just in case she wants to be a pop star' before I was born." Though Rapp admitted that her mom's decision was "conceited," she is "obsessed with the way [her mother] did it." "I'm like, thank you, God," she added. Poehler, 53, was impressed with how things came to be. "She gave you a pop star name just in case, because Reneé Rapp is a huge pop star name," the Parks and Recreation star said. Rapp, who released her album Snow Angel in August 2023, told PEOPLE about the inspiration behind the project. "All the songs I write obviously are about things that I've been through personally, but I think that any relationship I've ever had in my life is all culminated into one on this project and in these songs," she said at the time. The Social Network saga isn't over just yet, and the next chapter might have a new face for Mark Zuckerberg. Word is, Jeremy Strong is the frontrunner to play the embattled tech mogul in The Social Network Part II , a follow-up to the acclaimed 2010 film that dove into the turbulent origins of Facebook. According to multiple sources, Strong hasn't officially signed on, but insiders say he's the top pick for the role. Given his Emmy-winning performance in Succession , where he played a character navigating ruthless corporate waters, it's easy to imagine him stepping into Zuckerberg's world of controversy and control. But, I would've still liked to see Jesse Eisenberg reprise the role. This new film, written and directed by Aaron Sorkin, isn't a direct sequel but a continuation of the story. Instead of revisiting Facebook's early years, The Social Network Part II will explore more recent events tied to the company now known as Meta. The story is inspired by the Wall Street Journal 's 2021 exposé The Facebook Files by Jeff Horwitz, a hard-hitting series that shed light on Facebook's internal chaos and its impact on users worldwide. Sorkin's decision to return to the Facebook story came after years of weighing how to tackle the next phase. With the script locked and production gaining momentum, Sorkin is teaming up with producers Todd Black, Peter Rice, and Stuart Besser to bring the project to life. It was previously reported that Jeremy Allen White and Mikey Madison are also top choices for major roles. White would portray Horwitz, the journalist behind the Facebook Files , while Madison is being considered for the whistleblower who exposed the inner workings of the social media giant. Back in 2010, The Social Network saw Jesse Eisenberg portray Zuckerberg in a performance that earned him an Oscar nomination.
