A motorcyclist is in a critical condition following a crash, and part of a major Auckland motorway that was closed has been reopened.
Emergency services were alerted to the crash on the Southern Motorway involving a car and a motorbike, about 3:10pm on Saturday.
A northbound section of the motorway was closed between Market Road and the Wellington Street on-ramp, but NZTA said it had reopened by 5:30pm.
The crash scene had been cleared by early evening, but motorists were warned delays were expected in the area until the congestion cleared, NZTA said.
Meanwhile, Auckland's Cornwall Park was closed after a large tree fell on vehicles, about 10:45am on Saturday.
The park was cordoned off as the eucalyptus tree was being cut up and removed.
The park was expected to be reopened by the end of Saturday.
