Haider Ackermann Ignites Summer Heat With His Second 'Snow Goose by Canada Goose' Capsule
The Spring / Summer 2025 Campaign Titled Wild Horizon Propels the Brand into Bold New Territory, Inspiring Exploration of All Kinds
Article content
TORONTO — Today, Canada Goose unveils the second seasonal capsule from Creative Director Haider Ackermann. Designed under the brand's heritage label, Snow Goose, the capsule launches with a global campaign shot by Willy Vanderperre, for the second season, and features model Lara Stone, alongside a dynamic cast of multidisciplinary talent.
Article content
As evident throughout the campaign, Ackermann reimagines the performance legacy of Canada Goose with a modern, boundary-pushing spirit. Codes of utility, movement, and self-expression are reinterpreted through pinnacle outerwear archetypes, body-conscious silhouettes and second skin fits. The creation of each piece symbolizes a bridge to nature — not a barrier.

'I wanted to peel away the layers with this campaign — of clothing, of convention, of expectation – to resist the predictable.
It's a quiet rebellion.
The images are just a little disorienting; to make people pause and question their perceptions of what a collection for Canada Goose could look like, how it could be styled and photographed.
We're playing with beauty, with freedom,' says Ackermann.

Pulling from the nearly seventy-year archive of Canada Goose, iconic pieces have been reimagined for Snow Goose in more breathable forms. Designed to endure summer's elements, nylon shorts, ultra-light rain jackets, airy cotton parkas and lightweight utility pants cement the brand's style authority in warmer months.

Key hues in the collection, including icy blue Arctic Mist and Violet Eclipse purple, offer contrast against earthy khaki and beige tones. A series of graphic elements juxtapose movement with stillness: Can You Hear the Birds?, Embrace the Silence, and Find Me Where the Wildflowers Are, and reflect Ackermann's pursuit of serenity in nature and travel.

As a precursor to the launch, Ackermann unveiled the capsule with a three-day desert expedition for his close friends. Director Pedro Almodóvar inspires furniture collection
Article content The visual language of Pedro Almodóvar is bright and saturated, rich in emotion and punctuated with exclamation marks. The Spanish director has for decades infused the aesthetic into his films, to considerable success. He's been nominated for nine Oscars and won two, for All About My Mother (1999) and Talk to Her (2002). Article content Now his cinematic sensibility has inspired a limited-edition furniture line. Almodóvar teamed up with French brand Roche Bobois for the Cromática Collection, which debuted in April during Milan Design Week. Article content It launches mid-September in Canada — just in time for the Toronto International Film Festival — at select Roche Bobois showrooms. Spanning furniture, rugs, lighting and accessories, the collection reinterprets notable Roche Bobois pieces through Almodóvar's ebullient lens. Article content 'The colours and patterns I've chosen reflect an intense joie de vivre,' said Almodóvar in a news release. 'I believe that waking up and walking on that rug, or sitting on one of these pieces, will give you a sense of optimism.' Article content The approach is in line with the dopamine decor trend of the past few years, which incorporates vibrant colours, playful patterns and an emphasis on individualism. Postmodernism is also prevalent, with elements of maximalism. Article content The centrepiece of the Cromática Collection is a reissue of the Lounge modular sofa, a precursor of Roche Bobois' Mah Jong sofa. Hans Hopfer designed it in 1971 and only 50 numbered and signed editions were released. Film stills and poster art from Almodóvar's oeuvre span the upholstery of the new Lounge — which is released in only 50 numbered copies that are signed by Almodóvar. Article content There's also a fresh version of the Bubble armchair originally designed by Sacha Lakic. It comes in four custom colours inspired by The Room Next Door (2024): sky, moss, sun and red. The sofa version of the Bubble had a cameo in the movie — keen-eyed viewers can spot it in a scene at a gym. Article content The Rondo sideboard, meanwhile, has graphic panels that draw on Almodóvar's movie posters as well as his own still-life photos. And various rugs and cushions reference Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown (1988), High Heels (1991) and Volver (2006). Article content 'This collaboration with Pedro Almodóvar is a celebration of colour, emotion and creative boldness,' Éric Amourdedieu, the executive director of Roche Bobois Group, told The New York Times. 'His unique perspective has breathed new energy into iconic Roche Bobois pieces, creating a vibrant collection inspired by the artist's singular use of colour.'

Junos introduce Latin music category in effort to recognize more Canadian-made sounds
Organizers at the Juno Awards, Canada's biggest music awards show, say they plan to introduce Latin music recording of the year at the 2026 edition. The new category will recognize Canadian musicians across all Latin American languages and genres who've released music in the eligible year. It's the latest move by the Junos to diversify how it recognizes Canadian creators and the evolving national music scene. Last year, the Junos added a South Asian music category, while in 2022 it split the Indigenous category in two to honour both contemporary and traditional Indigenous artists. Another tweak is being made to the rap categories, which answers calls for clarity around the involvement of Canadian MCs. The revised rules state that for eligible releases in the rap single and rap album or EP categories, at least 50 per cent of the vocals must be performed by Canadian citizens or permanent residents. The 2026 Junos are set to take place in Hamilton with the main show broadcast from Hamilton Arena, formerly FirstOntario Centre, which is finishing off a $290-million renovation. The 2026 Juno week is set for Thursday, March 26, to Sunday, March 29. The event will culminate with the 55th Annual Juno Awards, the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS). In March, CARAS president and CEO Allan Reid said Hamilton's dynamic music scene and rich cultural heritage make it "an ideal location" for the awards. "We are thrilled to return to Hamilton and be one of the first events in Hamilton's newly renovated downtown arena," Reid said in the release. "The city and province of Ontario continue to show their passion for music and the arts. We're looking forward to 2026." A spokesperson for the city told CBC News that the city's contribution to the event will be $500,000, coming from a reserve dedicated to conventions, sports and events, while an additional $300,000 will be contributed from the Hamilton Tourism Development Corporation. Hamilton last hosted the Junos in 2015.
