Ahead Of Uber Earnings, Analyst Raises Forecast

Yahoo07-05-2025

BofA Securities analyst Justin Post maintained a Buy rating on Uber Technologies, Inc (NYSE:UBER) with a price target of $96, up from $95 on Sunday.
Uber will report its quarterly earnings results on May 7 before the market opens.
For the first quarter, Post's bookings and revenue estimates were $43.5 billion, and $11.73 billion were higher than the Street estimates of $42.9 billion and $11.62 billion.

The analysts' EBITDA estimate of $1.89 billion was higher than Street's estimate of $1.84 billion. He noted that Instacart's results and stable growth outlook were positive for Uber Delivery in the U.S.
For Mobility, Post projected bookings growth of 21% ex-foreign-exchange, which is more of a deceleration than BAC card data, which indicates Online Transit spend was stable sequentially.
Post remained constructive on New Verticals' contribution to growth as Uber invests into new customers and products like Uber Teen or autonomous vehicles.
However, the analyst recently flagged some softer TSA data on U.S. airport activity, so U.S. travel-related trips on Uber could see some modest near-term pressure.
Post also noted that U.S. Rideshare industry pricing data from Bloomberg has pointed to a deceleration in Uber ride pricing. The analyst projected stable 18% ex-foreign exchange growth for Delivery, while BAC card data suggests Online Delivery growth decelerated 1 point versus the fourth quarter.
He is constructive on Uber's Grocery & Retail segment, which is estimated to add 2 points to growth in the first quarter as Uber signs deals with brands previously reluctant to partner with 3P apps.
Post expects the tone on autonomous vehicles to be very constructive. Waymos launched exclusively on the Uber app in Austin at the beginning of March. Uber handles matching and fleet management services, while Waymo operates in-car software and roadside assistance.
Early data coming out of Austin and Alphabet Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) (NASDAQ:GOOGL) Google's recent earnings call comments suggest the ramp is going well, but noted that Uber may also be leaning into tools to boost autonomous vehicle adoption.
Post also expects Uber to highlight its recent partnership with Volkswagen (OTC:VWAGY) to deploy autonomous vehicles across multiple cities, starting in Los Angeles. Volkswagen's AV, 'ID. Buzz,' will begin testing in late 2025, with plans to offer rides to the public on Uber in 2026.
The partnership is Uber's first major auto OEM partner, which can provide large-scale manufacturing capability that goes far beyond software-focused partners.

This Unstoppable High-Yielding Dividend Stock Just Hiked Its Payout for an Incredible 131st Time in the Last 30 Years

Realty Income has raised its dividend payment 131 times since coming public in 1994. The REIT's high-yielding payout is on a rock-solid foundation. The company has plenty of room to continue expanding its portfolio and dividend payment. 10 stocks we like better than Realty Income › Some companies do an incredible job of paying dividends. Realty Income (NYSE: O) is one such company. The real estate investment trust (REIT) recently delivered its 131st dividend increase to its investors since its public market listing in 1994. It's the REIT's fourth dividend increase already this year. With one of the most bankable high-yielding monthly dividends around, Realty Income is an ideal stock to buy and hold for passive income. Realty Income recently declared its latest monthly dividend payment. The REIT will pay investors $0.269 per share in mid-July to those who own the stock by the first of next month. That raises its annualized dividend rate to $3.228 per share, which is a more than 5.5% yield at its recent stock price. The payout is 0.2% higher than its last payment and 2.3% above the year-ago level. The REIT's most recent raise is its 131st since coming public. It also extends the company's growth streak to 111 quarters in a row. Realty Income has increased its dividend in all 30 years since its public market listing. CEO Sumit Roy commented on Realty Income's latest dividend declaration in a press release. He stated, "The quality and diversification of Realty Income's portfolio allows us to provide investors reliable monthly dividends that increase over time." The CEO also remarked, "During times of market uncertainty, Realty Income remains committed to delivering investors predictable income streams." Realty Income should have no problem continuing to increase its dividend in the future. Driving that view is the strong foundation the company has built over the years. The bedrock is its high-quality real estate portfolio. Realty Income owns a diversified portfolio of over 15,600 retail, industrial, gaming, and other properties net leased to many of the world's leading companies. Notable tenants include 7-Eleven, Dollar General, FedEx, Home Depot, and Walmart. Its focus on investing in properties secured by long-term net leases enables the REIT to generate very predictable cash flow because tenants cover all property operating expenses, including routine maintenance, real estate taxes, and building insurance. Realty Income pays out a conservative percentage of its stable cash flow in dividends -- 75% of its adjusted funds from operations (FFO) in the first quarter. That gives it a comfortable cushion while allowing it to retain meaningful excess free cash flow to invest in more income-generating properties each year. It produced nearly $238 million in adjusted FFO after dividends in the first quarter of this year. The REIT also has a fortress balance sheet. It's one of only 10 REITs in the S&P 500 (SNPINDEX: ^GSPC) with two bond ratings of A3/A- or higher. Realty Income's excellent credit provides it with lower borrowing costs to fund new investments. Realty Income's diversification helps lower its risk profile while enhancing its growth prospects. The company estimates that the total addressable market for net lease real estate is $5.5 trillion in the U.S. and $8.5 trillion in Europe. The REIT has been steadily growing its opportunity set by expanding into new property verticals. It recently added U.S. gaming ($400 billion) and U.S. data centers ($500 billion) to its portfolio. The company has also expanded into additional European markets, added a credit investment platform, and is launching a private capital fund in the U.S. Its growing diversification has further expanded its already massive growth runway. Realty Income continues to steadily increase its already attractive monthly dividend payment. The REIT backs its payout with a high-quality real estate portfolio and top-notch financial profile. Add in its massive growth runway, and the REIT's dividend should remain unstoppable. Because of that, it's an ideal stock to buy and hold for a lifetime of passive dividend income. 'We do not see USD/CAD below 1.30': BofA's Du remains cautious on loonie's upside

-- Bank of America (NYSE:BAC) strategist Howard Du has trimmed the near-term forecast for USD/CAD to 1.38, citing balanced market forces in play as Canada's economy attempts to navigate slowing growth, diverging monetary policy, and shifting investor sentiment. In his mid-year update, Du underscored that the foreign exchange pair continues to face 'two-sided near-term risks' as stronger-than-expected GDP figures and equity outperformance offset dovish signals from the Bank of Canada. Markets have become increasingly bearish on Canada's economic outlook, with consensus expecting Q2 GDP to contract 1% on a seasonally adjusted annualized basis. However, BofA projects a more moderate decline of just -0.2%, aligning with the BoC's more constructive Scenario 1 outlook from its April Monetary Policy Report. Canadian equities have also provided an unexpected tailwind for the loonie. Since early April, TSX returns have outpaced global peers outside of the U.S., a trend BofA expects to continue as domestic cyclical indicators improve. Despite these supportive forces, Du sees rate divergence as a limiting factor for Canadian dollar strength. He anticipates the BoC will cut policy rates three times in 2025 once core inflation retreats and notes that the labor market remains under stress with no peak yet in unemployment. In the longer term, Du maintains that USD/CAD will trend gradually lower, extending a target of 1.35 into 2027. 'We do not see USD/CAD below 1.30 in our current forecast horizon; Fed-BoC rate divergence and equilibrium are the supports,' he wrote in the report. At the 1.30 level, CAD would no longer be undervalued against its long-term equilibrium range, according to BofA's valuation models. However, unless global capital flows drive a sustained de-dollarization regime, Du believes investors will be reluctant to unwind the USD's premium from recent years. USD dynamics are also shifting as foreign exchange markets become more tied to equities than interest rate spreads. Still, Du flagged that 'rates market moving from the current one BoC cut pricing to three cuts should still exert some upward pressure for USD/CAD' even amid changing correlations.
