Earlier on Sunday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath addressed the Kisan Samman Samaroh in Auraiya, highlighting the government's efforts to support farmers.
He emphasised that farmers have become a crucial part of the government's political agenda since 2014 thanks to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's initiatives.
Adityanath did an aerial survey of the maize crop on his way from Lucknow to Auraiya.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, while addressing the Kisan Samman Samaroh, said, 'You must have seen for the first time in 2014 that the farmer who provides food can also become a part of the political agenda of a government, when PM Modi started the Soil Health Card Scheme.'
He highlighted various initiatives of the central government to secure farmers' future - Soil Health Card Scheme; Prime Minister's Agricultural Irrigation Scheme; Prime Minister's Agricultural Insurance Scheme against crop failures and Prime Minister's Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme, 12 crore farmers nationwide benefit from this scheme, receiving financial support.
'After the Soil Health Card, the Prime Minister's Agricultural Irrigation Scheme and then the Prime Minister's Agricultural Insurance Scheme were implemented and the Prime Minister's Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme was implemented,' said the UP CM.
The government's efforts have shown positive results, with PM Kisan Samman Nidhi emerging as the world's largest direct benefit transfer scheme. Over Rs 3.25 lakh crore have been transferred into farmers' bank accounts, benefiting crores of farmers.
'12 crore farmers in the country benefit from the Prime Minister's Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme. This double-engine government is also working towards making the future of its farmers beautiful and secure in the state. When our government came in 2017, farmers were committing suicide. There were no facilities anywhere,' he added.
Yogi Adityanath also said that in 2017, the government implemented a Rs 36,000 crore loan waiver program for 86 lakh farmers.
'In 2017, when we came, first of all, we took forward the loan waiver program of Rs 36000 crore for 86 lakh farmers, and after the loan waiver, we resorted to the Prime Minister's Agricultural Irrigation Scheme to develop the irrigation capacity in the state,' said the UP CM. (ANI)

New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday lauded the 11 years of Modi government as a "golden period" in public service while Defence Minister Rajnath Singh asserted that India stands well-equipped and unwavering in its resolve to safeguard its territorial integrity, as Union ministers praised the prime minister's leadership. The Cabinet colleagues of PM Modi and other senior leaders of the ruling NDA listed a number of measures of the government. Lok Janshakti Party leader and Union minister Chirag Paswan said on X that the country has seen a new era of economic rejuvenation, social justice, cultural pride and national security. Senior BJP leader and Union minister Nitin Gadkari said under Modi's "visionary leadership", India has undergone a historic transformation grounded in seva (service), good governance, and inclusive development. "From empowering women, youth, and farmers to modernising infrastructure and healthcare, Bharat's progress has been swift and far-reaching. With global leadership, a self-reliant economy, and a people-first approach, India stands tall on the world stage," he said. The ministers used the hashtag "11 years of seva" in social media posts to mark the 11 years of the Modi-led government in power. "The historic 11 years of the Modi Government have been a golden period of resolve, endeavour and dedication towards public service," he said. The Defence Minister said the defence sector under the 'Aatmanirbhar Bharat' initiative has moved firmly towards self-reliance, and India now stands proudly among the top five economies of the world. India today stands well-equipped, confident, and unwavering in its resolve to safeguard its sovereignty and territorial integrity at all costs, he added. The ministers highlighted the reach and impact of welfare schemes like 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan' for sanitation, 'Ayushman Bharat' for health insurance, and 'Ujjwala Yojana' for cooking gas, besides measures for housing for the poor, cash assistance to farmers and subsidised loan schemes without collateral for entrepreneurs.

Vijayawada: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Monday virtually launched 'Vision Action Plan Unit' offices in all 26 districts and 175 Assembly constituencies with an aim to achieve the goals of Swarna Andhra 2047 vision. Addressing MPs, MLAs, District Collectors and officials virtually from the state Secretariat after the launch, Naidu stated that these units would fill a long-standing gap by providing dedicated government offices for MLAs at the constituency level. Each unit will be staffed with a nine-member team, with an allocation of Rs 10 lakh for its operational expenses. The nine-member team consists of an MLA, district nodal officer, academic person, young professional, and five vision staff. "A Special Officer will serve as executive vice-chairperson, with the local MLC, Municipal/Urban Panchayat chairperson, RDO/Sub-Collector, Tahsildar, Mandal Parishad Development Officer (MPDO), and Municipal Commissioner as members. The MPDO will act as the convener," he added. He emphasised the need for the state to pursue not only the long-term Swarna Andhra 2047 vision but also to prepare a clear four-year action plan. A comprehensive five-year roadmap has been developed for all 26 districts, he added.
