Andhra Deputy CM Pawan orders probe into land allotment to Shirdi Sai Electricals
Responding to media reports, he directed the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF) to probe whether the land allotted to the company falls within the Seshachalam Wildlife Reserve Forest, and whether due process under the Forest Land Regularisation Act, 1980, was ignored in allotment.
The Deputy CM also expressed concern over reports of the forest boundary fence being destroyed at Upadhyaya Nagar in Tirupati, which led to wild animals straying into nearby human habitations. He instructed officials to immediately repair the fencing and ensure clean surroundings and water for wild animals. He asserted that protecting wildlife must be the top priority.
Reacting strongly to reports of tree cutting in the Divyanamam area during jungle clearance, he ordered an inquiry into the actions of PCCF P Chalapathi Rao and sought a detailed report. He warned that any violations would be dealt with strictly, reiterating the government's commitment to safeguarding forest land and wildlife.

VIJAYAWADA: Former IAS officer Vijay Kumar on Monday filed a petition in the Andhra Pradesh High Court seeking interim orders to restrict Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan from acting in films, participating in entertainment programmes, producing and promoting films, and appearing in advertisements. In his petition, Vijay Kumar alleged that Pawan Kalyan misused his office and government funds in the making of the film Harihara Veeramallu and requested the court to direct the CBI to conduct an impartial investigation into the matter. The High Court, comprising Judge Dr Justice Venkata Jyotirmayi Pratapa, rejected the request of the petitioner's lawyer to issue notices to the respondents—the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), ACB, and Pawan Kalyan. The judge refused to issue notices at this stage, posted the hearing to next week, and ordered the registry to print the names of the lawyers representing the CBI and ACB in the list of cases to be heard.

Forest dept begins probe into illegal mining at Nischinta hill
1 2 Bhubaneswar: The forest department has initiated an investigation into alleged illegal mining activities at Nischinta reserve hill, located on the Dhenkanal-Jajpur border. The action follows a complaint regarding illegal operations on revenue land adjacent to forest and hilly areas. Principal chief conservator of forests (PCCF), Suresh Pant, has directed Dhenkanal divisional forest officer (DFO) Sumit Kar to conduct a thorough inquiry and submit a detailed report. "Dhenkanal DFO is asked to take immediate steps for inquiry and take necessary action as per law," the PCCF wrote on X as soon as he received the complaint. Kar confirmed that he was asked to look into the alleged mining activities on the hilly patches close to revenue land. "The Dhenkanal-Jajpur border is porous. We will identify who actually is/are excavating the area without valid permission.
