A boss on American Idol and her husband were executed in a suspected double murder inside their $US4.5 million ($6.9 million) Los Angeles home, cops said.
Robin Kaye, an award-winning music supervisor for the hit competition show, was found slaughtered along with her husband, Thomas Deluca, after an apparent break-in at their house in the upscale Encino neighbourhood, a Los Angeles Police Department source told TMZ.
LAPD officers found the couple's bodies during a welfare check after they had not been heard from in four days.
Both victims had what appeared to be gunshot wounds to the head.
Officers also found blood in the entryway and a broken window, which the killer possibly used to get inside.
Aerial footage of the house from ABC 7 showed what looked like a smashed sliding glass door.
The cops had already been called to the house last Thursday after neighbours spotted a suspicious person hopping the fence, but officers found no evidence of foul play.
'We didn't see or hear anything. My renter called 911 on Thursday because she saw somebody hopping the fence,' neighbour Amee Faggen told ABC 7.
Kaye had worked on American Idol for 15 seasons, according to her IMDB page, and won several Guild of Music Supervisors Awards.
She worked as the music supervisor on Idol for at least 15 seasons, and she won multiple Guild of Music Supervisors Awards for her work on the show.
She also worked on Lip Sync Battle, Miss USA and Miss Universe, among other shows.
The couple's house last sold for around $US4.5 million in 2023, according to Zillow.

Dad slammed for fleeing as 7yo son gets kidnapped in broad daylight

Chilling video has captured the moment a 7-year-old boy was kidnapped at gunpoint while his father abandoned him to run to safety. The footage obtained by WISN shows little Jamal White riding his bike near his Milwaukee home when a white Jeep circles back and blocks his family's driveway. In the video, two people jump out of the vehicle and grab the child as his dad, Jamal Sr, sprints inside the house, before coming back outside to slam the trunk of his car in frustration. 'Hell yeah I ran,' the dad later wrote on Facebook as he was ripped for failing to stop and help his seven-year-old son. 'I ran in thinking they tryna rob me not take my damn baby,' he wrote. Jamal was snatched at 7pm. Friday Milwaukee time, but an amber alert wasn't issued until almost five hours later, WISN noted. He was eventually found nearly 24 hours later at a house seven miles (11km) from where he was taken — and after his uncle allegedly opened fire at two people during the hunt. 'Yalll slow we both alive n my baby tried to get away like I taught em,' the dad said, suggesting he should be praised for his son surviving his kidnapping. 'God had us the whole time obviously I did right my baby safe!' Many commenters slammed the dad's actions. 'Your son gone beat on you when he get older and find out what you did buddy,' one user wrote. 'Bro you ran in the house and slammed the door,' a second wrote. 'I mean did you at least jog after the car?' a third asked. Three people have since been arrested — including the missing boy's 27-year-old uncle, Jamel K. White, who allegedly opened fire at a man and his son during the search, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. He shot at them when they drove past in a car, the docs said, hitting a tree and an abandoned house. The uncle blamed it on him being scared for his family, the complaint said. He faces two charges of first-degree recklessly endangering safety with a dangerous weapon. He appeared in court on Tuesday, where his bond was set at $20,000 and he was ordered to have no possession of firearms or dangerous weapons, according to court records seen by the outlet. Two other men were also arrested — a 27-year-old at the house where the boy was snatched from outside, and a 25-year-old at the one he was eventually found in. Neither was otherwise identified and a motive was not given.

Coldplay warning after kiss cam couple furore

Coldplay warning after kiss-cam couple furore Coldplay front man Chris Martin made a warning to concertgoers on Saturday night, US time, letting them know the kiss cam was about to be turned on and could broadcast their relationship to the world. It comes after the extraordinary fallout from a Coldplay concert in Boston last week when the kiss cam settled on Andy Byron and Kristin Cabot who were embracing at the time. Both were senior executives at New York data firm Astronomer with Mr Byron the company's chief executive. The image of the pair canoodling and then frantically ducking for cover went global. 'Either they're having an affair or they're very shy,' Martin said from the stage. Mr Byron is married and not to Ms Cabot. Astronomer placed Mr Byron on leave and he has subsequently resigned. On Saturday, Martin forewarned the crowd so a similar awkward encounter could be avoided. 'We'd like to say hello to some of you in the crowd, how we gonna do that, is we gonna use our cameras and put some of you on the big screen,' Martin told the crowd at a show in Camp Randall Stadium in Madison, Wisconsin. 'So please, if you haven't done your makeup, do your makeup now,' he added. As CEO of Astronomer, Mr Byron had been on a tidy sum. According to the New York Post, Mr was paid between $US469,000 and $US690,000 ($A717,000 to $A1 million) a year, plus performance-based bonuses. He is believed to be worth $US50 million ($A76 million), and the most recent valuation for Astronomer placed the company's worth at $US1.3 billion ($A2 billion). However, he won't be getting that pay cheque after he resigned from his leadership role ta the firm. Astronomer confirmed Mr Byron had quit on Saturday. 'Astronomer is committed to the values and culture that have guided us since our founding. Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability, and recently, that standard was not met,' a spokesman said, reported The New York Post. 'Andy Byron has tendered his resignation, and the Board of Directors has accepted. 'The Board will begin a search for our next Chief Executive as Cofounder and Chief Product Officer Pete DeJoy continues to serve as interim CEO.' Mr DeJoy seemed to be enjoying the furore. He 'liked' a LinkedIn post from Zachary Hensley — who was the vice president of technology and operations at Astronomer from 2019 to 2024 — in which he admitted, 'Yes, I've laughed at the memes'. The former staffer shared, however, that he had mixed feelings about the entire ordeal, adding, 'But I also know Astronomer is more than one moment or one person. It's a team of smart, kind, driven people doing incredible work. And I'll always be rooting for them.' Mr Hensley noted in his post that despite seeing all of the memes and having shared 'more than a few,' he 'felt a strange mix of pride, nostalgia, and whiplash' before gushing about his time at the tech company.
