Upcoming cricket matches of Bangladesh: T20Is and ODIs full schedule

Bangladesh Upcoming Cricket Matches List: The Bangladesh cricket team, under the leadership of Litton Das, has in recent times become a serious threat to any side in the limited-overs format. While their record remains dismal in red-ball cricket, they have performed reasonably well in white-ball formats, especially in T20Is. They are currently on a red-hot streak in the shortest format after securing T20I series wins against Sri Lanka and Pakistan back-to-back.
The main reason behind their success is the performance of pace bowlers such as Mustafizur Rahman and Taskin Ahmed, who are capable of taking wickets on any surface while conceding very few runs. When they start their campaign in the Asia Cup 2025, which will be played in the T20 format starting September 9, they will fancy their chances of reaching at least the semifinals or even the finals, if not winning the whole tournament.
Bangladesh Upcoming Cricket Matches Schedule 2025:
Before they begin their Asia Cup journey, they will have one final chance to hone their skills with a bilateral T20I series against the Netherlands later this month. But how does Bangladesh's cricket scedule in coming days look like? Here are the details.
Bangladesh vs Netherlands
Bangladesh faces the Netherlands in a crucial three-match T20I series at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, aiming to assert home dominance and build momentum ahead of the Asia Cup. With the Tigers' senior stars like Towhid Hridoy and Litton Das expected to anchor the batting, the focus will also be on emerging bowlers looking to cement their spots. Bangladesh seeks consistency and aggressive intent, particularly in powerplays and at the death.
Asia Cup 2025
Bangladesh will enter the Asia Cup 2025 in Abu Dhabi determined to break past near-miss heartbreaks and make a mark in continental cricket. Drawn in Group B alongside Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, and Hong Kong, the Tigers face a tricky path to the Super Four stage. Dependable all-rounders, a core of experienced batters, and a revitalised spin attack offer optimism. Key will be how Bangladesh handles high-pressure moments, especially against fellow Asian heavyweights.

India's squad for Asia Cup 2025: Should Gill and Jaiswal get picked just because they are available?

Should India pick Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal for the Asia Cup 2025 just because they're available? Explore the pros and cons of their potential selection and find out if they have a case for the tournament. read more After a grueling but successful England tour, Team India is set to return to the realm of T20 cricket, where the stage has come for them to reclaim their authority over Asia. As the responsibility of being a Team India cricketer comes with a heavy ask of indulging in non-stop cricket, and keeping the demanding fans satisfied with an incessant spell of excellent cricket and constant victories, the Asia Cup 2025 will stand as a true Test of the World T20 champions' resolute. STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD With a phenomenal batting line-up and an equally formidable bowling attack, Team India will enter the tournament as major favourites. When you have fiery batters like Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson at the top, who can take the game away from the opposition in a matter of the first six overs, and after that, a prolific striker of the cricket ball, Suryakumar Yadav comes in at no.3, and not to forget the impact Tilak Varma has laid out in the last 12 months while batting in the top order, the team does not bound to lose many games. Moreover, if in case the top order fails, then the team has crisis managers like Axar Patel, Rinku Singh, and Hardik Pandya available. These batters can not only play according to the situation but can shift the gears to an extreme extent at will and more often than not deliver a lethal blow to the opposition. Thus, the batting does not seem to have any frailty, and it cannot get any better, right? While there might be less room for improvement, there are still options available that can add value to the already desirable batting lineup. In case you are wondering who is being talked about here, then please read the title of the piece again. No! Don't take the trouble, it is about Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal. Both Gill and Jaiswal are available for the Asia Cup 2025. So, should BCCI go ahead and pick them in the squad for the upcoming continental cup? While there is no direct answer to it, let's ruminate both sides of the coin and figure out whether Jaiswal and Gill do have a case or not, and whether they can be picked owing to their availability. The Case for Gill and Jaiswal Both Gill and Jaiswal were in red-hot form in England. Both accumulated sizeable figures in the 5-match affair against England. India captain Gill finished the series as the leading run scorer with 754 runs, and Jaiswal on the other hand, amassed 411 runs. Given the level of tough cricket they endured, they can prove to be key batters in the side and enhance India's chances of conquering the Asia Cup. Moreover, both batters have scored tons of runs in the IPL over the years. India can utilise, Gill's ability to anchor and rotate the strike, while Jaiswal's aggressive batting can set the tone for India to attain or chase a big total. Hence, not only because are they available, but they have the potential and qualifications to come into the reckoning for the Asia Cup selection. with Gill's impressive run-scoring in the IPL and Jaiswal's explosive batting style making them strong contenders. Gill's ability to anchor the innings and rotate the strike has been particularly impressive, while Jaiswal's aggressive batting has provided a much-needed boost to his team's totals. Their availability is certainly a plus, but is it enough to guarantee them a spot in the team? STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD The Bigger Picture While form and availability are crucial, they shouldn't be the only factors driving selection. As mentioned, Team India's batting order has wreaked havoc in world cricket in the last year. So, what is the need to modify the winning combination? A slight chance can hamper the whole balance. Hence, Gill and Jaiswal might be available, but no way they walk into the playing XI. Plus, there is Shreyas Iyer in the mix as well. If one were to make a trifecta, then Iyer, Jaiswal, and Gill, would fit in that order. Availability can be a blessing Picking players solely based on availability can be a recipe for disaster. But given that Gill and Jaiswal have the right skillset and experience to back their selection, they can be put into the reserves and can be called up in case a player gets injured. In that case, their availability will prove to be a major blessing. The Verdict In conclusion, while Gill and Jaiswal's availability is certainly a factor, it shouldn't be the sole reason for their selection. And whether one should be picked purely because he is available is a query that does not hold any relevance, at least not in the Indian cricket, where there is a fierce competition for every position from top to bottom. The selectors need to factor in a number of aspects to make the eventual selection. Player's form, fitness, role-specific requirements, and team balance- everything needs to be studied before pushing a name. Having considered everything, if Gill and Jaiswal get selected for the upcoming Asia Cup 2025, then rest assured, it will not be just because they were available.

Racing: Stage set for gruelling Sumatra leg

MEDAN (INDONESIA): Set in the backdrop of two active volcanic mountains — Sinabung and Sibayak — and scenic tea plantations near Lake Toba, about 66 drivers will light up the Sumatera Utara International Rally from August 8-10 in Indonesia. As many as 15 drivers will fight it out in the third round of the FIA Asia-Pacific Rally Championship's (APRC) Asia Cup section which is a 12-stage, 200.6-km battle across jungle tracks and volcanic gravel. Three-time ARPC champion Gaurav Gill starts as a favourite while the combo of Team JK Tyre and Vamcy Merla Motorsports unleashes a formidable five-car challenge at the event. The Arjuna Awardee has teamed up with his French co-driver Florian Barral (co-driver) as they will look to harness the power of a Skoda Fabia Rally2 Evo in the premier category. 'Nothing makes me happier than seeing so many cars from India and a strong grid of 15 cars, which augurs well for APRC,' Vicky Chandhok, president of the APRC Working Group, said. Apart from the seven-time Indian National Rally champion Gill and Barral, Vaibhav Marathe is teaming up with experienced co-driver Ashwin Naik. Meanwhile, M Bopaiah and PV Srinivasa Murthy, the Kodagu-Bengaluru pair, and Abin Rai of Kodagu and veteran Srikanth Gowda of Chikkamagaluru and Nikeetaa Takkale, who has Sudheendra BG as navigator, will also be representing VM Motorsports. As far as the Ladies Cup is concerned, Nikeetaa Takkale, a 26-year-old Pune driver, will be battling it out against Thailand's Nattapon Panphut and Japan's Miku Irie. Sudheendra will be Takkale's co-driver. Takkale also participates in the 2-wheel drive car category of the Junior and RC4 classes in APRC. Vamsi Merla, the Promoter of the Asia Pacific Rally Championship, said that the five-car effort shows VM Motorsports' commitment to developing ALL rally talent. "From Gill's title hunt to Nikeetaa's Ladies Cup campaign, each driver gets world-class support," he added. The campaign marks India's largest-ever factory-backed entry in APRC history with support from Merla and Lokesh Gowda, the promoter of the Indian National Autocross Championship. After the ceremonial start on Friday, the APRC rally, which is run concurrently with the Indonesian Rally Championship round, will have six competitive Special Stages on Saturday and six on Sunday. The next round of the APRC will be in China, but those who qualify in the APRC Asia Cup here could qualify directly for the Asia Pacific Cup finals to be held from November 6 to 7 in Japan.
