'You cant be cancelled..': Denzel Washington on cancel culture, public support
Washington, DC [US], August 18 (ANI): Actor and director Denzel Washington shared that he is not concerned about other people's opinions and getting "cancelled," according to The Hollywood Reporter. When Washington, alongside director and frequent collaborator Spike Lee, was asked, in a video interview, if he was concerned about "being 'cancelled,'" he replied with a question, "What does that mean -- to be cancelled?" The interviewer responded, "it means you lose public support," Washington said, "who cares?,"according to The Hollywood Reporter. He added, "What made public support so important to begin with?" Washington explained what's important to him. "I don't care who's following who," he said. "You can't lead and follow at the same time, and you can't follow and lead at the same time. I don't follow anybody. I follow the heavenly spirit. I follow God, I don't follow man. I have faith in God. I have hope in man, but look around, it ain't working out so well," according to The Hollywood Reporter. He added, "You can't be cancelled if you haven't signed up. Don't sign up. Don't get me started. My chest started hurting. You know, chest is getting tight talking about it." Denzel Washington has nine Academy Award nominations under his belt and is a two-time Oscar winner for his performances in the movies 'Glory' and 'Training Day'. However, the actor places no value on such career milestones Recently, in an interview with Variety, he said, "I don't do it for Oscars. I don't care about that kind of stuff. I've been at this a long time, and there's time when I won and shouldn't have won and then didn't win and should've won. Man gives the award. God gives the reward." Washington continued, "I'm not that interested in Oscars. People ask me, 'Where do I keep it?' Well, next to the other one. I'm not bragging! Just telling you how I feel about it. On my last day, [Oscars] aren't going to do me a bit of good." Washington and Lee's latest collaboration, their fifth overall and first in nearly 20 years, though according to Lee, likely not their last, the movie Highest 2 Lowest, is in theatres now, as per the outlet. The A24 and Apple film is a reinterpretation of Akira Kurosawa's High and Low, starring Washington as a music mogul who's targeted in a ransom plot, according to The Hollywood Reporter. (ANI)

Elon Musk claims Grok Imagine will unlock superhuman imagination powers for users
Elon Musk has made another bold claim about his artificial intelligence platform, Grok. In a post on X, the billionaire said, 'The goal of Grok Imagine is to give you superhuman imagination powers.' The statement comes as xAI, Musk's AI company, has recently expanded access to its Grok Imagine feature. Initially available only on iOS, the tool was recently made available for free to Android users as well. Musk confirmed that this free access will be for a limited time. advertisementGrok Imagine allows people to create AI-generated photos and short videos using simple prompts, either typed or spoken. Users can also upload existing images and customise them with AI tools. According to Musk, more than 44 million images have already been generated using the feature, with the number rising app is designed to be straightforward. After downloading Grok from the App Store or Play Store, users can select 'Imagine' from the top menu, enter a text prompt, or upload a picture. Within seconds, the system produces an image. These can then be animated into short videos by tapping the 'Make video' option. The video function offers four different modes: Normal, Fun, Custom, and a more controversial 'Spicy' mode. While it has attracted attention for allowing partial nudity and sexually explicit content, there are restrictions on how far it can go. TechCrunch previously reported that although the tool enables NSFW creations, attempts to generate more extreme or political material, such as a pregnant Donald Trump, are blocked, with the system instead producing toned-down these limitations, Grok Imagine has positioned itself as a rival to other AI image and video generators. OpenAI's ChatGPT and Google Gemini already provide similar features, but Musk's tool has tried to differentiate itself with speed, ease of use, and interactivity. The promise of free access, even temporarily, also adds to its early reviews note that the results are not perfect. Human-like images often fall into the 'uncanny valley', with odd textures or cartoon-like skin tones. But the generator has been praised for its fast response, its ability to produce endless variations, and its seamless user known for his ambitious visions, said the tool will improve rapidly. 'It will get better every day,' he promised in an earlier post. For now, Grok Imagine is likely to continue drawing attention, not only for its creative possibilities but also for the debates it sparks around the limits of AI-generated content.- EndsMust Watch
