The new film is being directed by Josh Greenbaum, with a screenplay by Gad, Benji Samit, and Dan Hernandez, according to entertainment news outlet The Hollywood Reporter.
"Spaceballs", which was a parody on popular sci-fi movies like "Star Wars", "Star Trek", "Alien" and "The Wizard of Oz", followed mercenary Lone Starr (Pullman) and his sidekick Barf (John Candy) rescue Princess Vespa and her droid from the evil Spaceballs, who plan to steal Druidia's air.
Stranded on a desert moon, they meet Yogurt (Brooks), who teaches Starr the power of "the Schwartz". Meanwhile, the bumbling Dark Helmet (Moranis) and Colonel Sandurz try to hunt them down.
The plot details of the sequel are not known yet.
Pullman's son, "ThuNderbolts" star Lewis Pullman, will also feature in the movie along with fellow newcomer Keke Palmer.
Imagine's Brian Grazer and Jeb Brody are producing alongside Gad, Brooks and Greenbaum. Kevin Slater, Adam Merims, Benji Samit and Dan Hernandez will executive produce.
The film is expected to be released in theatres in 2027. PTI

Elon Musk claims Grok Imagine will unlock superhuman imagination powers for users
Elon Musk has made another bold claim about his artificial intelligence platform, Grok. In a post on X, the billionaire said, 'The goal of Grok Imagine is to give you superhuman imagination powers.' The statement comes as xAI, Musk's AI company, has recently expanded access to its Grok Imagine feature. Initially available only on iOS, the tool was recently made available for free to Android users as well. Musk confirmed that this free access will be for a limited time. advertisementGrok Imagine allows people to create AI-generated photos and short videos using simple prompts, either typed or spoken. Users can also upload existing images and customise them with AI tools. According to Musk, more than 44 million images have already been generated using the feature, with the number rising app is designed to be straightforward. After downloading Grok from the App Store or Play Store, users can select 'Imagine' from the top menu, enter a text prompt, or upload a picture. Within seconds, the system produces an image. These can then be animated into short videos by tapping the 'Make video' option. The video function offers four different modes: Normal, Fun, Custom, and a more controversial 'Spicy' mode. While it has attracted attention for allowing partial nudity and sexually explicit content, there are restrictions on how far it can go. TechCrunch previously reported that although the tool enables NSFW creations, attempts to generate more extreme or political material, such as a pregnant Donald Trump, are blocked, with the system instead producing toned-down these limitations, Grok Imagine has positioned itself as a rival to other AI image and video generators.
