Viktor Hovland with a neck injury is among 3 players to withdraw at Travelers
CROMWELL, Conn. (AP) — Viktor Hovland withdrew after two holes at the Travelers Championship on Sunday when he felt soreness in his neck on the range and the pain became worse.
Hovland was among three players to withdraw from the PGA Tour's signature event. Eric Cole, who was tied for 14th, pulled out before the round started with an illness. Matti Schmid withdrew after playing four holes.

Hovland said he felt great while warming up until deciding to hit a couple of drives and then he felt something in his neck.
'It felt fine, didn't feel hardly anything at all, just felt like something was maybe brewing,' Hovland said. 'Then the next shot that I hit with a driver it just felt like ... it just cracked. I don't know exactly what happened, but there's something that happened and just couldn't move.'
Hovland said he could barely stand over the ball and move his neck when he withdrew.
'Couldn't really do anything,' he said.
Hovland was in the same group as Scottie Scheffler, turning that group into a twosome.

Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham has been ruled out of Sunday's game against the Connecticut Sun with a knee injury, marking the latest injury to a Fever squad that has already been decimated. The injury occurred during the second quarter when Connecticut guard Bria Hartley drove to the basket but fell and collided with Cunningham's leg on her way down. Cunningham stayed down clutching her right knee and visibly in pain as the rest of the team went to the other side of the court. (AP) — Kelsey Mitchell scored 34 of her career-high tying 38 points after halftime, Lexie Hull hit a corner 3-pointer with 44.9 seconds to play and the Indiana Fever rallied from 21 points down and beat the Connecticut Sun 99-93 in overtime on Sunday. Odyssey Sims had 19 points and seven assists, and Natasha Howard added 18 points for Indiana (19-16). Aliyah Boston finished with 14 points, 13 rebounds, five assists, two steals and two blocks. Mitchell scored all of Indiana's points — including back-to-back 3-pointers — in a 10-4 run to open overtime before Hull's 3 made it 97-90. Marina Mabrey scored 27 points and Tina Charles 21 for Connecticut (6-27). Saniya Rivers had 15 points and a career-high five blocks, Aneesah Morrow finished with 10 points and 11 rebounds and rookie Leïla Lacan had a season-high 14 assists to go with seven points.
