How long will summer last in Abu Dhabi?
Astronomically, it has been confirmed that summer will end on Monday September 22 in Abu Dhabi, meaning this year's summer period is exactly three months and one day long. 93 days in total, if you want to be precise.
Ibrahim Al Jarwan, Board Chairman of the fun indoor activities and member of the Arab Union for Space and Astronomy Sciences, confirmed the duration of the UAE summer for 2025.
He said: 'Summer will begin astronomically on June 21 with the summer solstice and will last for three months until September 23.
'During this period, temperatures will range between 41 and 43 degrees Celsius, accompanied by dry conditions and active winds.'
He continued, 'The UAE will experience its longest daylight hours between June 18 and 24, reaching up to 13 hours and 43 minutes.'
After the summer solstice, we can start to look forward to the autumnal equinox, which will happen on Tuesday September 23.

Hit the slopes at Snow Abu Dhabi

Literally the coolest establishment in the city, Snow Abu Dhabi is now welcoming visitors to its snowy slopes. Little ones will love the sleigh rides, Polar Express Train, and Crystal Carousel, while older kids can whizz around the park on a suspended roll-glider ride or bounce down a snowy hill in a giant inflatable ball.

Have fun at Central
With delicious burgers and shakes, cool arcade games and a bowling alley, you can be assured of hours of fun at this popular spot in Yas Bay. It's an easy-on-the-pocket outing too: arcade games are half-price Monday to Thursday, from 4pm to 7pm.

Keep cool in the pool with a day (or a night) swim

As the temperature rises, one of the best things to do is head to one of Abu Dhabi's beach clubs. Many pools around the capital are temperature-controlled to keep you cool and you can enjoy great day offers.
To make your experience even cooler, head for a night swim to see the sunset or even after the sun goes down. ILIOS in Surf Abu Dhabi has launched 'Because It's Her' ladies' day, running from 4pm to 7pm every Friday, where you can get free-flowing drinks for Dhs145 or go for the soft package at Dhs125.
Café del Mar in Yas Island also offers night swims during the week. On Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, Noches Del Mar will get you free-flowing drinks for Dhs299 between 8pm and 11pm. On Wednesdays, ladies get unlimited drinks plus a bite for Dhs100, and gents can join the party for Dhs150 (3 drinks plus a bite).
Make a splash at Yas Waterworld Abu Dhabi
The waterpark has loads of fun activities to keep young and old entertained for an entire day with more than 40 splashy rides, various pools, and immersive aqua experiences. And to make things even more interesting, their massive expansion is opening this summer, with 12 shiny new attractions coming soon.

Sheikh Mohammed takes first Etihad Rail passenger ride from Dubai to Fujairah
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, took a significant step into the UAE's transport future this week — by boarding a passenger train on the Etihad Rail network from Dubai to Fujairah. The journey served as a real-time inspection of progress on the Etihad Rail passenger line, a project that is set to redefine how the UAE moves by connecting cities, boosting tourism, and supporting economic growth. Passenger operations are set to launch in 2026, with the full network ultimately linking 11 cities and regions across the country. Sheikh Mohammed was joined by Etihad Rail officials and project leaders, including Chief Business Support Officer Saeed Al Ahbabi, who briefed him on key achievements.
