Person killed, 3 others hurt in South Chicago mass shooting, police say
Chicago police said shortly before 5 a.m., officers responded to a report of a person shot in the 8200 block of South Houston Avenue, where they found a 20-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his neck.
He was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
The other three victims were also taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center.
A 22-year-old woman was shot in her right arm and was in good condition.
Two men, 25 and 38, were hit in the abdomen and were in serious condition.
As of Saturday, no one is in custody.
The circumstances surrounding this incident are currently under investigation by Area detectives.

'They provided life-saving measures until Shelby County Fire arrived. Shelby County Fire personnel later pronounced the victim deceased on the scene.' 'Upon arrival at Fern Glade Cove, deputies found multiple shell casings and learned the four adult males arrived by personal vehicles to area hospitals with gunshot wounds. All four victims are listed in non-critical condition.' Adams was a three-star recruit in the class of 2025. The Lousiana native was a two time first-team all-state player according to his bio on the Ole Miss site and had 31 sacks over his final two seasons of high school football. He was the New Orleans Times-Picayune defensive player of the year in 2024. He was one of 23 signees in Ole Miss' class of 2025 that ranked 15th in the country according to Rivals.
