Universal Studios Is Launching A "Fan Fest Nights" For The First Time, And I Am So, So, So, So Ready To Geek Out
From the creators of Halloween Horror Nights, Universal Fan Fest Nights will feature all-new, uniquely curated, and immersive experiences inspired by sci-fi, fantasy, gaming, and anime throughout the park on select nights from April 25 to May 18, 2025. And here's exactly what you can expect:
First off, there's " Star Trek: Red Alert," a fully immersive walk-through experience where you'll get to actually walk onto a screen-used set.
What it is: Inspired by the Star Trek universe, this daring walk-through experience will boldly take guests on an immersive adventure aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-D. You'll go on a mission to prevent an interstellar threat and be transported to the year 2403, just as an otherworldly entity wreaks havoc on the ship. As the chaos ensues, you'll venture further into the Enterprise, navigating familiar Star Trek environments, from the ship's engineering room to transporter pads to the soul of the Starship Enterprise, the bridge — an original set piece featured in the third and final season of Star Trek: Picard — in a desperate quest to stop the perceived danger and restore peace aboard the ship.
Next (and the one I'm most excited about), is " Back to the Future: Destination Hill Valley," which will take you to the Universal backlot courthouse square where they actually filmed the movie!
What it is: This nostalgic experience is based on the 1985 Back to the Future blockbuster movie and invites guests to time travel back to 1955 Hill Valley alongside the film's iconic characters. Time travel begins the moment guests climb aboard the Studio Tour 'Fan Tram' and venture towards Courthouse Square, the original filming location for this classic film located on Universal Studios' world-famous backlot. Back to the Future: Destination Hill Valley will pay homage to this groundbreaking film by inserting guests into many familiar scenes with iconic props. From Hill Valley with the original Lyon Estate monuments to the Time Machine on display, guests will have the sensation of going back in time as they partake in the energetic recreation of the Enchantment Under the Sea dance and Hill Valley Festival, plus experience a stunning recreation of the Clock Tower lightning strike, sending Marty back to the future multiple times each event night.
Then there's "Dungeons & Dragons: Secrets of Waterdeep," another walk-through experience, this time featuring an original creation from Jim Henson's Creature Shop.
What it is: Inspired by the World's Greatest Roleplaying Game™ (Yes, this is actually trademarked!), Dungeons & Dragons, this epic experience will welcome you to partake in a one-of-a-kind adventure and explore the fantastic world of D&D. You'll join the Harpers — a heroic spy network — to foil a plot by the legendary beholder Xanathar and save the city of Waterdeep. In creating this unique experience, Universal Studios Hollywood is collaborating with the iconic Jim Henson's Creature Shop to create the legendary beholder Xanathar that will come to life within DUNGEONS & DRAGONS: Secrets of Waterdeep.
Now, for anime fans, there's " One Piece: Grand Pirate Gathering," which will be one of the "Fan Zone" experiences (think of it like the "Scare Zones" during HHN).
What it is: This unique experience is inspired by the long-running global hit anime series, One Piece, from creator Eiichiro Oda, which follows the adventures of Monkey D. Luffy and his Straw Hat Crew, including Zoro, Nami, Usopp, and Sanji, on their quest to find 'One Piece,' the legendary treasure of the former King of the Pirates, Gol D. Roger. The Grand Pirate Gathering will transport guests into the series' fictional world of pirates through an immersive and interactive experience, complete with iconic visuals and scenic environments that place fans at the heart of the action. Guests will also have time to enjoy uplifting meet-and-greet opportunities with different characters and as well as participate in themed interactive photo ops.
...and also " Jujutsu Kaisen: Hunger of the Cursed," a film-based experience.
What it is: This anime experience, inspired by a widely popular Japanese manga and its anime adaptation, follows high school student Yuji Itadori after he accidentally becomes the host of a powerful curse and joins Tokyo Jujutsu High School, an organization that fights the curses. This epic adventure will be transformed into an exciting film-based experience, which first debuted at Universal Studios Japan.
And if you're as obsessed with Super Nintendo World as the rest of, well, the world is, you'll be VERY excited to hear you'll finally get a chance to meet Yoshi during the fest at Super "Nintendo World: Let's Go, Yoshi!"
What it is: "Super Nintendo World: Let's Go, Yoshi" is a fun addition to Super Nintendo World. It will mark the debut of beloved fan favorite Yoshi as a brand new meet-and-greet character within the land during Universal Fan Fest Nights. As part of Yoshi's welcome to the land, you'll have a chance to interact with Yoshi as you engage in a scavenger hunt to locate all five colorful Yoshi eggs. After completing this original quest, you'll reap a special reward with the unique opportunity to meet a different colored Yoshi!!! And look out for celebratory drone moments that will illuminate the night sky throughout the evening.
Finally, even The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is getting some fun new additions for Fan Fest.
What it is: During the event, you'll have a chance to further engage in this immersive land with all-new magical creature interactions, including the opportunity to meet the Niffler, a Baby Dragon, and grand Occamy. There will also be a new (to Hollywood) "Hogwarts Always" light projection show designed to take you on a whimsical journey through a school year at Hogwarts.
And, of course, there will be a ton of NEW food (and merch) during the event. Here's a look at just a few of the tasty treats you can try...
Like this almost-too-cool-to-eat "Outatime Cookie" from Back to the Future:
These savory and very logical "Vulcan Fritters" from Star Trek:
This adorable "Chopper Cupcake" from One Piece:
And this fierce "Yuji Cupcake" from Jujutsu Kaisen:
This savory and magical "Hogwarts Meat Pie" from The Wizarding World of Harry Potter:
And this suuuuuper cute "Yoshi's Apple Melon Smoothie" from Super Nintendo World:
And here's a quick video to get a look at even more treats:

Pamela Anderson reveals 'chemistry' with Liam Neeson and admits 'love' for him
Pamela Anderson's career renaissance is continuing apace, as she's currently starring alongside Hollywood heavyweight Liam Neeson in the quirky comic franchise reboot, The Naked Gun . A sequel to the original trilogy, Northern Irish star Liam plays Lt Frank Drebin Jr, son of Leslie Nielsen's legendary bumbling lawman, while Baywatch icon Pamela plays Beth, who turns to Frank for help in catching her brother's killer. Comedy moments aside (one montage involves Liam and Pamela in a threesome with a snowman), it's the smoking chemistry between Liam and Pamela — on and off-screen — that's had everyone talking. The pair have looked undeniably cosy on red carpets, although neither have confirmed or denied any romance. Here, Pamela, 58, talks about her latest role, gushes about working with Liam, and reveals how her sons are her greatest supporters and 'harshest critics'… Hi, Pamela! Everyone's talking about you and Liam Neeson. How was it working together? Liam's fantastic. Everyone, I think, is going to fall in love. He's had an incredible career, starting in theatre and being part of acting royalty, starring in Schindler's List and all his other films. So it was intimidating. I was afraid to meet him. I was literally shaking the first day I came to rehearse with him. But he's such a gentleman, such a sweetheart, so giving and generous, and so complimentary and supportive that, you know, you can't help but fall in love with him. The chemistry between you two is fantastic… We do have chemistry and, you know, off-set, he's silly. He has that little boy sense of humour. Yeah, he's funny. On set, I don't think we broke too much, but in rehearsals, we'd be playing around and having a bit of a laugh. But we'd still be shooting the film today if we laughed at everything! Some of the crew had to hide in corners, and the video village was really far away, in some kind of soundproof room, so they could not laugh. What attracted you to doing a comedy film? Well, I've kind of restarted my career — I did Chicago on Broadway, then The Last Showgirl . I thought it would be a nice juxtaposition to do a high comedy after a drama. It was exciting to play with, and I really respond to comedy. The fact they even thought of me for this was so exciting. I'm glad I did it. Were you a fan of the original movies? Oh, I love the Naked Gun s. They were really funny — such crazy, silly comedies. The world needs that right now. Everyone needs a good giggle, and this movie definitely has some of those. So what can people expect from this film? It's just one laugh after another. I think people will love all different parts of it. There's definitely an audience for this. It's a genre, but silly — you know, burst-out-laughing stuff. It's really wild. How did you prepare to play your character, Beth? I work a lot on the character before I even get to the set. Whether it's a drama or a high comedy, you still put the work in. So we talked a lot about her backstory and the storyline. The director was very scientific with the jokes, but I also wanted to bring honesty, authenticity and vulnerability to Beth. I see some sincere and tender moments, which I don't think you'd expect in a film like this. I was proud to see that. What were your favourite scenes to shoot? I think the montage is one of my favourites. I loved all the snowman scenes, he was really cute. But it was all exciting and fun. It's interesting to work with such an incredible actor as Liam, because I'm soaking it all in like a sponge. I feel new at this, so I really pay attention and observe him, on and off camera. How he conducts himself is really incredible to witness and learn from. You've got a scene where you sing in a jazz club… I loved that scene. The song was scripted, it wasn't improv, so I had to learn it. I still sing it in the shower — I can't get it out of my head. It kind of started a little Fabulous Baker Boys and went into, like, craziness. It was something I was worried about at first, but then I just jumped into it, and it was fun. Is this a film that's better to watch on the big screen? Any movie is seen best at a movie theatre — especially this one, with all the stunts and craziness. There's a lot of stuff going on, there are layers. If you see it a second time, you might see something different. There are a lot of references and funny things in the background. So yes, it's definitely one of those movies you need to enjoy on a big screen, with popcorn and friends — you'll get a greater kick out of it. Your son Brandon encouraged you to do The Last Showgirl . What input did he have with this film? Brandon and my other son Dylan actually saw an early cut of this film before I did. I got the call, 'Mom, it's funny. It's really funny. You and Liam are great.' They were so excited about it. They don't pull any punches. They're my harshest critics, as sons can be, but that gave me a bit of confidence because they wouldn't say that if they didn't love it. There's a new generation of kids who don't know these movies and are craving some real slapstick belly laughs. Your fans seem to be really embracing this second act in your career. What do you think has been the best part? Oh, thank you. Just working. It's a happy surprise that I get to do this again. I've gone home and thought, 'OK, I'll make pickles and bake bread and make my life beautiful, no matter what.' But I had this real craving to do more in this industry, so I'm really grateful. When does 'Peacemaker' Season 2 come out? Premiere date, time, cast, where to watch
John Cena is back to spread more peace with Season 2 of "Peacemaker." Based on the character from James Gunn's 2021 film "The Suicide Squad," the series follows the "explosive escapades" of Peacemaker, "a compellingly vainglorious man who believes in peace at any cost, no matter how many people he has to kill to get it," according to HBO. In Season 2 of the series, Peacemaker "discovers an alternate world where life is everything he wishes it could be." However, it is also puts him in a position where he is forced "to face his traumatic past and take the future into his own hands." Cena, during a Season 2 panel for the action-comedy series at Comic-Con, said Peacemaker 'is going through a rough patch in life and thinks the grass might be greener on the other side.' 'That's something people can relate to," the actor had added. All eight episodes of "Peacemaker" Season 2 have been written by James Gunn, who also directed three episodes this season, including the first. "Peacemaker" is also the first original DC show to have its series premiere on HBO Max, according to HBO Max Head of Original Content Sarah Aubrey. Gunn, meanwhile, at Comic-Con teased that Season 2 is more extreme than the first and is definitely not for kids – there's a very sexual situation in the first episode that made actor Steve Agee (John Economos) think 'it's insane we're showing it on cable.'
