2026 Rogue Gains Stylish New Trim
The Nissan Rogue has been a mainstay of the compact crossover segment for many years now, with the current generation having first arrived for the 2021 model year. For 2026, Nissan has just released updated pricing and a new Dark Armor trim, which aims to satisfy consumers' apparent obsession with blacked-out cars. Considering that an all-new Toyota RAV4 is about to arrive, Nissan's changes aren't all that adventurous.
Stylish Dark Armor Trim
As ever, vehicle design is subjective, but the current Rogue generation is definitely one of the more stylish options in its class. It has a more upscale look than most rivals, much like the new Mazda CX-5, and the Dark Armor model builds upon this.
Based on the SV, the Dark Armor adds gloss black exterior accents around the exterior, with the finish applied to the badging, mirrors, grille bars, and pillar trim. It also receives attractive 19-inch gloss black wheels, while the roof rails get a satin black finish.
Inside, the Dark Armor gets some more equipment over the SV, too. The list includes heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, a surround-view monitor with moving object detection, and a panoramic moonroof.
If you prefer a more rugged look, the Rogue Rock Creek is still available for 2026. It rides on more practical 17-inch wheels wrapped in Falken Wild Peak all-terrain tires, and also gets a bespoke front fascia.
Small Price Increase For 2026
For the new model year, the Nissan Rogue starts at $28,790, which is $200 more than before. We don't know pricing for the 2026 RAV4 yet, but the Rogue is cheaper than the 2026 Honda CR-V, which begins at $30,920.
Here's the full pricing for the 2026 Nissan Rogue:
Rogue S FWD: $28,790
Rogue SV FWD: $29,790
Rogue Dark Armor FWD: TBC
Rogue SL FWD: $35,290
Rogue S AWD: $30,190
Rogue SV AWD: $31,190
Rogue Dark Armor AWD: TBC
Rogue Rock Creek AWD: $33,690
Rogue SL AWD: $36,690
Rogue Platinum AWD: $38,990
As you can see, pricing for the new Dark Armor isn't available yet, but its positioning in the lineup suggests it will start at around the $32,000 mark. We also noticed that the top Platinum variant is no longer available with front-wheel drive; like the Rock Creek, it now comes with only all-wheel drive.
Questionable Variable Compression Ratio Engine Remains
Source: Nissan
A few years ago, Nissan dropped the larger naturally-aspirated engine from the Rogue in favor of the current 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine, which has a variable compression ratio. Producing 201 horsepower and 225 lb-ft of torque, the engine delivers a reasonable combination of performance and efficiency, although it can't compete with more powerful powertrains from several rivals.
More concerningly, the VC-Turbo engine was recently recalled by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) for a manufacturing defect that could lead to total engine failure. The recall was for 2021 to 2024 Rogues, as well as other Nissan and Infiniti models.
Nissan dealers will inspect these engines and perform repairs or a complete engine replacement if necessary. Besides this engine's troubles, Nissan has had trouble in the past with the Rogue's CVT, indicating a level of powertrain fragility simply not seen in the RAV4.
Assuming these engine issues are sorted, the Rogue is a competent crossover, and we expect the 2026 version to go on sale imminently.

IndyCar officials and Pato O'Ward shocked by ICE-related 'Speedway Slammer' post

IndyCar driver Pato O'Ward and series officials were shocked by a social media post from the Department of Homeland Security that touts plans for an immigration detention center in Indiana dubbed 'Speedway Slammer," and includes a car with the same number as the only Mexican driver in the series. 'It caught a lot of people off guard. Definitely caught me off guard,' O'Ward said Wednesday. 'I was just a little bit shocked at the coincidences of that and, you know, of what it means. ... I don't think it made a lot of people proud, to say the least.' The post Tuesday included an image of a IndyCar-style vehicle with the No. 5 that had 'ICE' imposed on it multiple times similar to the display of a sponsor. It appeared to be a computer-created image, with the car on a track and a prison-like building in the background. Indiana is home to Indianapolis Motor Speedway, and is where the IndyCar Series is based. 'We were unaware of plans to incorporate our imagery as part of yesterday's announcement,' IndyCar said in a statement Wednesday. "Consistent with our approach to public policy and political issues, we are communicating our preference that our IP not be utilized moving forward in relation to this matter.' O'Ward said he didn't see the post until a friend texted him about it. 'I haven't really read into it too much because I don't think I want to,' he said. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem in a separate post used 'SpeedwaySlammer' when announcing the new partnership with the state of Indiana to expand detention space by 1,000 beds. O'Ward, who is second in points in IndyCar this season, was in Texas to promote next year's inaugural Grand Prix of Arlington. That race on March 15 will be on a 2.7-mile layout that goes around the home stadiums of the NFL's Dallas Cowboys and MLB's Texas Rangers. O'Ward threw a ceremonial first pitch before the Rangers' game against the New York Yankees.

The Next-Gen Cadillac XT5 is Coming to America After All

View post: Walmart Is Selling an 'Efficient' $220 Chest Freezer for Only $119, and Shoppers Say It 'Has Plenty of Room' There are plenty of U.S. states without a comprehensive hands-free driving legislation, but laws can remain strict without one. Mercedes-Benz celebrates its 600,000th G-Class with an all-electric G 580 EQ, continuing the SUV's legacy with zero emissions and full luxury customisation. The Cadillac XT5 has been on sale for almost a decade without a significant update, leading many to speculate that the automaker would discontinue the SUV in the near future. We recently reported on speculation that the next-generation Cadillac XT5 would arrive in North America for the 2027 model year. But now we have official confirmation. The Detroit Free Press obtained a memo sent to the local United Auto Workers union chapter, which states that the current XT5 will continue production through the 2026 calendar year, with the next-generation 2027 model kicking off late in the year. It will be built at GM's Spring Hill Assembly Plant in Tennessee, which was once occupied by Saturn. 0:02 / 0:09 2024 Kia EV6 GT-Line review: Is this the EV that will convert you? Watch More Source: Cadillac The updated XT5 won't be new from the ground up. It will carry on with the same platform that underpins the current model, but the SUV may get the turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and mild-hybrid setup used in the Chinese variant. It offers 233 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque and pairs with a nine-speed automatic transmission. Cadillac is plowing ahead with new electric models like the Vistiq, Optiq, and Escalade IQ, but its decision to keep the XT5 on sale and retain an internal combustion powertrain aligns with General Motors' shifting electrification plans. The automaker's roadmap initially included a plan to cut gas vehicles by the mid-2030s, but it later backed off that goal, saying it would focus on bringing a range of electrified models to market, including less expensive hybrids and plug-in hybrids. Source: Cadillac That said, GM has had a successful 2025 so far, increasing sales by 16 percent over the same period last year. The XT5 was a significant chunk of that volume, moving 12,727 units and increasing its sales by four percent over 2024's numbers. About the Author Chris Teague View Profile
