Social media users left gagging after influencer shares her recipe for a chicken dinner made in a dishwasher

Social media users have been left thoroughly disgusted after a woman shared her recipe for a chicken dinner - cooked entirely in a dishwasher.
Influencer Jane Brain, who creates and shares cooking content with nearly half a million Instagram followers, recently took simple cooking to an alarming level, creating what she dubbed "easy dishwasher dinner."
In a video, Jane started by placing an unseasoned chicken breast in a glass, lidded jar.
She put pasta in a second jar before filling both of them with water to the brim and placing the jars in the dishwasher among dirty plates to cook.
"While our dishes get cleaned, pop those in, just like a slow cooker," Jane said, as she turned the dishwasher on.
"It's going to make the juiciest chicken."
Once the cycle was complete, Jane removed the jars containing the now-cooked chicken and pasta, declaring the food to be "so clean."
She drained the jars of water, which advised her followers to "save", and placed the white, blanched chicken on the pasta before eating the meal.
"I am so efficient, five stars for me," she said.
Shocked viewers immediately flooded the comments, with one person expressing concern the recipe had been shared so widely.
"The fact you have over 450k people following you for cooking advice is insane and concerning," they said.
Another person even called for Instagram to label videos like Jane's with a warning about unconventional cooking methods.
"And on this day, a new warning label was created," they said.
A third person declared thirty minutes of cooking time in a dishwasher, only to achieve the same result as if the food was blanched for ten minutes in a pot, was a complete "waste of water, electricity and time."
"She took a bite. I'm going to delete this app, then delete my phone, then my eyeballs. Farewell," another baffled viewer said.
"This is disturbing," said another.
It's not the first time Jane has shared some very adventurous recipes, which have also been met with many raised eyebrows.
She recently made meatballs using beef mince and nothing else, before adding almond milk to the cooked meat like breakfast coco pops.
She also placed Pringles in a boiling pot of water, which she seasoned with garlic, onion, and paprika to create her version of "mashed potatoes."

Bonnaroo festival to return after flood-forced break

The Bonnaroo festival will return in 2026, with organisers promising to reseed the event site, improve access roads in campgrounds and add more drainage after flooding forced them to cancel the 2025 event. The festival had been set to take place in the US city of Manchester, Tennessee, in June with performers including Olivia Rodrigo, Avril Lavigne, Hozier, Vampire Weekend and Queens of the Stone Age but was cancelled after one day due to "record-setting rainfall". Organisers say the festival will return to the same location from June 11-14 in 2026, with some changes. "We've been taking your feedback to heart over the past few weeks as we plan improvements and talk about what's next for the festival. And now, it's time to share those plans with you," Bonnaroo said in a statement posted on Instagram. "Campsites located in areas most affected by flooding will not be utilised. This will result in a reduced capacity on The Farm (more dancing space)," the post said. It outlined plans to stagger camping entry and programming across the festival's stages and promised "the calibre of artists you expect from us" would remain "very similar" to previous years. "In the 2025/2026 off-season, we'll be dedicating an additional multi-million-dollar budget and initiating improvements that prioritise the campgrounds and other areas affected by the extreme weather in 2025," the statement said. "Some of these projects will include reseeding the property, continuing to increase access roads within the campgrounds, adding more drainage and reinforcing primary water runoff pathways. "We appreciate your feedback on future Bonnaroo dates, and we heard you loud and clear that your strong preference is to keep Bonnaroo in June." The statement said weather experts had confirmed the record-setting rainfall experienced in 2025 was "extremely uncommon". "All things considered, our traditional June time frame remains the most optimal time of year for Bonnaroo," it said.

‘The Witches Are Back': Nicole Kidman shares much-awaited post with beloved co-star Sandra Bullock on Practical Magic 2 set as filming kicks off

Nicole Kidman and her beloved on-screen sister Sandra Bullock are back together again after 27 years to cast some spells on the big screen as they kick off the first day of filming Practical Magic 2. Kidman shared a sweet glimpse into the set of the highly-anticipated fantasy film in a short Instagram clip on Saturday in which she can be seen hugging Bullock behind gravestones, wearing floral dresses reminiscent of the Owen sisters' costumes in the prequel. Film crew surrounding the pair are heard telling cameramen to "keep rolling". The Aussie actress captioned the post : "The witches are back. Owen sisters' first day on set'', she wrote referencing their characters Sally and Gillian Owens. Both Kidman and Bullock seemed to be rocking the same hairstyles from the original film with Kidman's long red hair and fringe and Bullock's loose brunette waves. The Instagram post caught the attention of excited fans who have been waiting patiently for the film to grace their screens since its announcement last year. "THIS FEELS LIKE CHRISTMASSSS STAWPP THIS IS BEST PRESENT IVE GOT," one fan wrote. "AAAAAAAA. I SCREAMED! What a fantasy. I can't wait to see this," another wrote. "Now this is the breaking news alert we needed!" a third joked. The original Practical Magic was released in 1998 based on the novel by Alice Hoffman, in which two witch sisters raised by their eccentric aunts find themselves fighting off a curse that kills the men they fall in love with. Dianne Wiest and Stockard Channing are expected to return to the sequel as Aunt Jet and Aunt Frances. The release date for Practical Magic 2 is currently set for September 18, 2026.
