#SHOWBIZ: Lindsay Lohan on Dubai life: 'Very normal,' praises privacy and safety
In a recent appearance on the talk show Live With Kelly and Mark, the 39-year-old actress shared that living in Dubai since 2014 has allowed her to lead a peaceful, private life.
"It's just far away from Hollywood, and I live a very normal life," Lohan said.
She highlighted the sense of safety and discretion in Dubai, explaining, "There's no worry of, like, I can't go eat at this place because someone's going to take a picture of my son."
Lohan, who shares two-year-old son Luai with her husband Bader Shammas, appreciates that privacy laws in Dubai prevent unsolicited photography in public places.
"You can't take a picture of someone else if you're in a restaurant. You have to ask the person," she said.
Meanwhile, Lohan's Freaky Friday co-star Jamie Lee Curtis recently spoke about their long-standing bond.
The 66-year-old actress described feeling "tremendous maternal care" for Lohan when they first worked together in 2003.
Speaking to The Guardian, Curtis said: "She and I have remained friends. I feel less maternal towards her now because she's a mommy herself."
Though Curtis calls herself "bossy," she noted that Lohan no longer needs any guidance. "She's a fully functioning, smart woman, creative person," Curtis said.
The two actresses are now reuniting for Freakier Friday, the sequel to their original film. Reflecting on her journey,
Lohan told People: "I feel wiser now and very settled. I've become such a positive person."

Freakier Friday: More Chaos, More Heart, Still Totally Freakin' Awesome [Review]
Subscribe to our FREE I grew up watching Freaky Friday (2003), and to this day, Lindsay Lohan's Avril Lavigne-meets-alt-girl vibe of layered tees, dark jeans, chunky accessories, smudgy eyeliner, and that iconic guitar lives rent-free in my head. © 2025 Disney Enterprises, Inc. All Rights Reserved. So when I heard Freakier Friday was coming out — and that Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis were both returning — I was curious, a little skeptical, but mostly excited. And honestly? I had fun. © 2025 Disney Enterprises, Inc. All Rights Reserved. The film picks up years later with Anna (Lohan) now a single mum to a teenage daughter, Harper (Julia Butters, who is excellent), and introduces us to Eric (Manny Jacinto), a very charming, very British widower with a daughter of his own, Lily (Sophia Hammons). The daughters don't get along, the parents get engaged, and suddenly we're looking at a future blended family that's… not quite blending. © 2025 Disney Enterprises, Inc. All Rights Reserved. Then comes the twist: a chaotic double body swap — Harper switches with Anna, and Lily ends up inside Tess (Jamie Lee Curtis), who's now the grandma-slash-guardian figure. The swaps are triggered by a soda machine and a psychic (Vanessa Bayer, clearly having the time of her life), and from there, everything spirals. © 2025 Disney Enterprises, Inc. All Rights Reserved. There are great moments throughout — a standout for me was actually when Anna and Eric met for the first time at the principal's office. The chemistry is cute, but it's X Mayo as Principal Waldman who completely steals the scene with her hilarious one-liners and unfiltered observations. © 2025 Disney Enterprises, Inc. All Rights Reserved. But I'll be honest: the body-swap performances didn't hit quite as hard this time. The first movie worked so well because you could see Anna and Tess fully inhabiting each other — the way they moved, spoke, even stood. Here, Anna and Harper already have such a similar vibe that their switch doesn't create much tension or contrast. And in the second swap between Lily and Tess, the British accent somehow survives the magic? Which kind of defeats the point. © 2025 Disney Enterprises, Inc. All Rights Reserved. Anna is also manager to global pop star Ella, played by Maitreyi Ramakrishnan. She does add a touch of flair and representation to the film, although it felt slightly forced at times. That said, the movie has heart. The story lands emotionally, especially in the final stretch when Harper starts to understand what her mum's been carrying all these years. There's a subplot about Anna writing music again, and just when I thought the nostalgia couldn't hit any harder — Pink Slip reunites and they sing Take Me Away!! I teared up. Not even gonna pretend I didn't. © 2025 Disney Enterprises, Inc. All Rights Reserved. And yes, Chad Michael Murray is in this one. And yes, he still looks ridiculously good. Freakier Friday doesn't have the same tightness or iconic moments as the original. It's messier, a little overstuffed, but genuinely warm. It's for people like me who grew up with Freaky Friday and want something familiar with a few new surprises. Freakier Friday opens in cinemas nationwide from 7 August 2025. Lindsay Lohan comes full circle with ‘Freakier Friday'
Lindsay Lohan at the premiere of the film 'Freakier Friday' on July 31 in London. (Invision/AP pic) LONDON : Lindsay Lohan said she drew upon her own experiences of motherhood for 'Freakier Friday', the highly-anticipated sequel to her hit 2003 movie 'Freaky Friday'. Lohan, 39, welcomed her first child in 2023, a year before the Disney movie was filmed. 'It felt full circle for me, and also the timing was pretty impeccable considering that I'm a new mom and I was able to bring being a mom into the character,' Lohan said at the film's London premiere on Thursday. 'It's the first time I'm able to do that on screen.' 'Freaky Friday', with a reported budget of US$26 million, was a surprise hit, making over US$160 million worldwide and obtaining a cult following. The 2025 follow-up sees Lohan and actress Jamie Lee Curtis reprising the roles of mother and daughter duo Tess and Anna Coleman. Twenty years on, Anna is a single parent to tomboy teen daughter Harper, played by Julia Butters. Their relationship comes under stress when Anna falls for Eric (Manny Jacinto), the father of Harper's new British classmate Lily (Sophia Hammons), and they decide to get married. The future stepsisters, with a mutual dislike for one another, decide to intervene. While the 2003 film saw a body swap between Tess and Anna, things get 'freakier' this time around with Tess and Anna switching bodies with Lily and Harper. Before signing on to the sequel, Lohan ensured that Anna returned as a multi-faceted and relatable character. 'It was important to me that we explained who Anna is today and how she's evolved and the dynamic between her and her daughter as she's a single working mom. 'There are some basic points that I wanted to get across because I want people to see the movie and find a piece of it that they can grab onto and be like, 'okay, I get that',' she said. Directed by Nisha Ganatra, the movie also sees actor Chad Michael Murray reprising the role of young Anna's love interest, Jake. Shooting the sequel was a 'lovefest', said Murray. 'It was the same, but better. It felt very much like connective tissue to the first movie. Everyone loved going to work and no one wanted to go home.' 'Freakier Friday' marks Lohan's big screen return. 'It's obviously nerve-wracking because you want it to be great and you want people to love what you do,' she said. 'As long as people are enjoying what I'm doing and it's making them happy, then I feel like I'm doing my job and that's what I'm here to do,' she added. 'Freakier Friday' begins its global cinematic rollout on Aug 6.

#SHOWBIZ: Denise Richards questioned by police after visit to estranged husband's home
CALABASAS: American actress Denise Richards was questioned by police in California on Sunday after she visited the home of her estranged husband, Aaron Phypers, despite a restraining order being in place. The visit, which reportedly escalated into a heated confrontation with Phypers' family, ended with police on the scene. According to a report by TMZ and Page Six, the former star of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills arrived at the Calabasas home where Phypers is currently staying with his parents and brother. Her stated purpose for the visit was to collect her dog. However, a source claims Richards began banging on the back door before being let in by Phypers' parents. Once inside, she allegedly screamed at them to leave the property. The situation reportedly grew more volatile, with the source claiming that Richards, 54, pointed her finger in the faces of Phypers' parents and attempted to hit his brother. She is also alleged to have thrown mail at her brother-in-law. Phypers, 52, reportedly left the property when she arrived, fearing that her presence would cause him to violate the restraining order. Photos obtained by TMZ showed Phypers' elderly mother visibly shaken and hugging her son in the driveway. Despite the confrontation, authorities concluded that no crime had been committed and no arrests were made. In a statement to People, Richards' lawyer, Brett Berman, denied any wrongdoing. Berman claimed that Richards had not violated the restraining order because she had confirmed beforehand that Phypers "was not present in her home." Berman added that Richards was there to retrieve her dogs after learning Phypers had allegedly put one of her other dogs down without her knowledge or permission. A source close to Phypers called this allegation "100 per cent, absolutely false." A representative for Richards was not immediately available for comment. The incident occurs just weeks after Richards was granted a temporary restraining order against Phypers, who filed to end their six-year marriage last month. In her filing, Richards accused Phypers of abuse, claiming he had slapped, choked, and threatened to kill her. Phypers has denied these allegations.
