Fears for Phil in EastEnders iPlayer release as he disowns two family members
Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) has entered self-destruct mode once again.
In yesterday's episode, his best mate Nigel Bates (Paul Bradley) called time on their living arrangement and moved back to Scotland with wife Julie (Karen Henthorn).
It brought an end to seven months together, reigniting their friendship that spans decades, and supporting one another through troubling times.
Phil had even acted as Nige's carer in the wake of his young-onset dementia diagnosis.
However, after Jay Brown (Jamie Borthwick) contacted Julie, she was adamant that he return home with her. Phil was furious and wanted Nigel to make the decision for himself.
Despite his memory failing and forgetting who she was, Nigel eventually packed his bags and headed for the train station.
A heartbroken Phil couldn't bear to wave him off – despite some words from Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) – and sat alone in his kitchen.
In today's instalment, he woke up and slowly began to remove traces of Nige from the house, such as sticky notes he'd left in the kitchen as reminders.
Heading to the cafe, he refused to talk to Kathy Cotton (Gillian Taylforth) and shut down both Jay and ex-wife Kat Moon (Jessie Wallace) when they approached him.
As far as he's concerned, they're both responsible for Nigel's exit.
Linda called him over for another catch-up in the hope she could make a breakthrough, but more disaster struck.
As they headed upstairs, Phil crossed paths with son-in-law Callum Highway (Tony Clay), who was hanging out with Linda's son Johnny (Charlie Suff).

The pair have been seeing one another for weeks, though have kept things lowkey because of Callum's marriage to Phil's son Ben (Max Bowden), and to protect Ben's daughter Lexi (Isabella Brown). More Trending
Phil immediately put two and two together and saw red. He grabbed Johnny by the neck and dangled him over the staircase.
Back at home, Callum pleaded with Phil to understand, asking him not to ruin his family. But it was too late.
Enraged, he told Callum and Jay that he intended to take full custody of Lexi, and they were nothing to him anymore.

EastEnders legend set to make shock return to Walford after 11 years - weeks after two other iconic characters confirm their return to screens
EastEnders favourite Nicholas Bailey will make a shock return as Dr. Anthony Trueman to the soap, more than a decade since he was last seen in Walford. The character – son of Patrick Trueman (played by Rudolph Walker) – will be back on screens in scenes to air in the summer. Anthony first arrived on the Square in 2000 and quickly made waves, thanks in part to a steamy romance with Kat Slater (played by Jessie Wallace). Now, 11 years on from his last stint, the GP is set for a dramatic reunion with his dad this summer as Patrick and Yolande prepare to tie the knot. Anthony last appeared in Eastenders in 2014 when he rushed to his father's side when Patrick suffered a stroke. Since then, he has led a life away from Walford but in upcoming scenes viewers will see he is invited to his father's impending nuptials and decides to return for the occasion. In a post on the official Eastenders Instagram account, the long running soap teased the visit to Walford comes at a significant moment for Patrick, which means Anthony stays longer than he originally intended. In a statement, executive producer Ben Wadey said: 'It's great to welcome Nicholas back to the EastEnders family to reunite Patrick with his son. 'But Anthony's plan for a brief return to surprise his father ends up with him staying longer than he expected when he uncovers what has been going on in the Trueman household.' Nicholas who will reprise the iconic role added: 'It is an unexpected treat to return to EastEnders and I'm full of gratitude to get the opportunity to revisit the character of Anthony. 'It's wonderful to work with Rudolph Walker again - he's such a big part of my journey as an actor and I loved filming my first scenes with him after so long. 'I'm excited to see what the passage of time has done to Anthony and explore his relationship with Patrick at this stage in their lives.' Fans took to the comment section to share their excitement for the new return and penned: 'Bring him back for longer. He was a good actor and good for the show.' 'Fantastic news. I'm loving this new era' 'OMG!!!!!! I can't wait for this he's aged like fine wine'; 'Wow, this is now getting so good'. MailOnline has contacted Eastenders representatives for comment The return of Dr. Trueman comes hot on the heels of other major soap comebacks. Michelle Ryan recently reprised her role as Zoe Slater after two decades away, and Jake Wood is set to return as Max Branning in explosive future scenes. The British actor, 52, who last appeared on screen in February 2021, said he is 'over the moon to be coming home to Walford'. He said: 'I'm over the moon to be coming home to Walford. Max has got lots of unresolved drama with many characters, so I'm sure he'll be busy. 'I'm excited to see what he's been up to, and what is next for the character, but if his last 15 years in the Square are anything to go by, I'm sure there will be plenty of chaos.' Max is reportedly set to return to the BBC soap in autumn, before making a permanent return later in the year. During his first stint on the soap, Jake became a fan favourite amongst viewers, with his character Max being at the heart of several huge storylines. The 2007 Christmas Day episode where it was revealed that Max had an affair with his daughter-in-law Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) has become known as one of the most chaotic festive specials ever. Michelle, 40, best known for her iconic 'You ain't my mother!' moment, made her first appearance in June, after her return was kept under wraps. On the return the episode hadn't been released on BBC iPlayer at 6am that morning, meaning all viewers had to tune into the evening broadcast, where Zoe's return was unveiled.

Mum lied about being my sister until I was 11 then stabbed me in heart with knife – it's like something from EastEnders
Keiley has vowed never to speak to her mum again and wants a completely fresh start in life 'HELL BROKE LOOSE' Mum lied about being my sister until I was 11 then stabbed me in heart with knife – it's like something from EastEnders IN her own words, Keiley Ibrahim's life has been like something from EastEnders. Until she was 11, she did not know that Kat Goodfellow, the woman she saw as her fun older sister, was in fact her mum. 4 Keiley Ibrahim, 34, has revealed how her life mother pretended to be her older sister before eventually turning on her Credit: Simon Jones 4 Keiley's mother Kat (right) viciously turned on her and stabbed her with a knife, an attack she was later jailed for Credit: Simon Jones And years later, when she tried to bond with her on Mother's Day, Kat stabbed her in the heart with a kitchen knife, leaving her in a coma. Keiley, 34, says: 'I still find it strange to say I survived being stabbed in the heart by my own mother, who lied to me for years, saying she was my sister. 'Until I was about 11, I believed my nan was my mum. "I discovered the truth one night when me and Nan had a row and she screamed, 'I'm not your mum, Kat is'.' Kat had got pregnant at 14, so Keiley's nan said she would bring the baby up together with her other nine children. After Keiley discovered the truth, she would go and stay with Kat, a nightclub dancer in London, eventually moving from Southend to be close to her. But in an exclusive interview, she said: 'She just wasn't fit for motherhood, despite me wanting her to be. She never acted like a mum. 'We didn't have that bond. Our relationship grew toxic. She drank too much and picked fights with strangers and family alike. 'But she was my mum. After I had my little girl, who is now ten, I wanted her to be a grandmother, too.' YouTuber found guilty of wife's murder in shocking Bradford attack 'All hell broke loose' In March 2023, Keiley's grandad died. She says: 'We were both devastated. "After the funeral, my boyfriend at the time and I returned to Mum's house to help her decorate. 'But she started drinking. She was a violent alcoholic.' When Keiley gave her flowers and a card on Mother's Day, two days after the funeral, Kat was furious that her daughter had not also given her a bottle of wine. She just wasn't fit for motherhood, despite me wanting her to be. I'll never speak to her again. I was better off with Nan as my mum Keiley, who worked as a silver service waitress, says: 'All hell broke loose. She was upset, drunk, picking for a fight. 'My boyfriend and I locked ourselves in the bedroom, but she kept screaming. 'He went to try and talk. She turned on him, then me. She stormed off to the kitchen, came back and grabbed me and then I thought she hit my chest.' Keiley breaks down in tears as she recalls: 'After the thud, I realised it really hurt. 'I looked down, blood poured from my chest and mouth and I remember saying, 'Mum, you've stabbed me'. I got out of the house and collapsed in the street. "I remember a neighbour calling 999.' 4 Keiley is now happily married to husband Ozay, who helped her to turn her lifea round Credit: Instagram/@sobriety_oz 4 Keiley says she is finally living a peaceful life, having put the traumatic incident behind her Credit: Simon Jones In fact, Keiley had been stabbed with a 6in knife, puncturing her heart valve and the sac around her heart. She was in a coma for two weeks and told it was a miracle the surgeons had saved her life. Despite everything, Keiley still spoke to Kat, 48, who was sentenced to 15 months, suspended for two years, and told to undergo alcohol treatment. She says: 'She told me she hadn't stabbed me, but I had stabbed myself. It was like another stab in the heart, no sorry from her, no apology. "I felt ashamed to have her as a mother. I went off the rails a bit then. I couldn't work as I was too ill and I'm ashamed to admit I shoplifted some food.' It was only after meeting husband Ozay, 46, a window fitter, that Keiley, who now lives in Reading, turned her life around. She says: 'I don't know if she meant to kill me. I like to think not. I begged everyone to be lenient on her, not to send her to prison, because she is my mum. "But I gave evidence behind a screen because mentally it was too much for me.' Keiley adds: 'I will never speak to her again. I don't need her in my life. I was better off with Nan as my mum. She is now quite old and frail and it is sad for her that all of this has happened. 'I haven't been able to work since the attack. Mentally, I'm not strong enough. But I am getting there with the help of my husband. 'And I am finally living a peaceful life instead of one with more twists and turns than EastEnders. 'I've forgiven Kat for what she has done, because carrying hate only hurts me. But I will never forget what she did.' Last night, Kat said: 'How is this going to benefit Keiley and how is it going to affect me? 'As far as I'm concerned I've been convicted unfairly.'

Coronation Street star has link to Sir Paul McCartney and other famous family members
A soap star who has appeared in Coronation Street, Emmerdale, Hollyoaks and more has a family connection to Beatles star Sir Paul McCartney - but he's not the only famous person she's related to Soap fans have been left stunned and amazed after realising a TV star is related to music legend Sir Paul McCartney. Fans of Emmerdale and Coronation Street will recognise Amy Robbins for appearing in both ITV soaps. She has played a recurring character named Christina Boyd since 2023 on the cobbles, and featured in six episodes of Emmerdale playing Defence Barrister Milligan during Meena Jutla's plea hearing. The 54-year-old actress has also appeared in Casualty, Holby City, Doctors, Hollyoaks and more, with a career on screen spanning back to 1997. But soap fans may be stunned to learn she has a surprising number of famous people within her family, including 83-year-old Beatles icon Sir Paul. On top of this, Amy's grandfather, Ted Robbins, was a prominent member of the Football Association, her brother, also named Ted Robbins, is an actor who has appeared in Phoenix Nights and Benidorm, and her sister, Kate Robbins, is a singer and actress who wrote the theme tune to Cilla Black's Surprise, Surprise and also starred in Silent Witness. She is also an aunt to Emily Atack, who's parents are Kate and the musician Keith Atack. Amy has been married to the actor and author Robert Daws since 2003 and together they have three children. Speaking of her famous family, Amy said, per the Express: 'We are never competitive with each other and we are all very close. My dad, Michael, worked in variety all his life and my mum, Elizabeth, sang. Showbusiness is in our DNA, it's a family business that has lasted generations." She was able to turn to her brother Ted for advice, appearing on Corrie - as he too has featured on the soap, playing Brendan Finch from 2015 until 2016. He advised her 'not to underestimate the feeling of standing in the Rovers for the first time.' Amy revealed: 'He said it would be overwhelming and he was right. His other piece of advice was not to call William Roache 'Ken' like he did. Ted bumped into William and accidentally said 'Hello Mr Barlow''. Sir Paul has a large family that includes a wide range of talented relatives. He is related to Amy by her mother, Elizabeth Robbins, who is Paul McCartney's first cousin. This means Amy shares a grandparent with Paul McCartney, making her his cousin, but one generation removed. The Yellow Submarine singer is dad to potter and artist Heather McCartney - who is the daughter of the late photographer Linda McCartney and the adopted daughter of Paul. His 55-year-old daughter, Mary McCartney, is a photographer, documentary filmmaker, and vegetarian cookbook author, and his 53-year-old daughter, Stella McCartney, is an acclaimed fashion designer. His son, James McCartney, 47, followed in his musical footsteps and has enjoyed some success as a musician and songwriter. He has released three albums: Me, released in 2013, The Blackberry Train, released in 2016, and Beautiful Nothing, released last year. James also contributed to albums by his parents, Paul and Linda McCartney. As well as being married to Linda from 1969 until her death in 1998, Sir Paul was famously married to the model Heather Mills from 2002 until 2008. His most recent marriage, to business woman Nancy Shevell, began in 2011.
