Youths charged in ‘racially motived assault' against adults and 2 children: Halifax RCMP
According to police, three youths followed a man, a woman and two children from the rec centre, on Forest Hills Parkway, to the parking lot on Monday just before 5 p.m.

'The youths shouted obscenities and racially motivated hate speech before one of the youths sprayed an irritant in the man's face,' RCMP allege in a Thursday news release.
'Once police were called, the youths fled on foot.'
Two of the three youths were arrested the next day while RCMP were assisting Halifax Regional Police with another call in Dartmouth.
'A can of sensory irritant was seized,' RCMP added.

Both youths are facing charges of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, as well as assault with a weapon. One is also charged with failing to comply with a release order.
Both of them appeared in youth court on Wednesday and have since been released with conditions.

RCMP in southern Alberta said two people are dead and a third is in critical condition after a vehicle hit a group of pedestrians and then left the scene. The injured woman is 45 and also a resident of Siksika, while police said the two remaining people weren't hurt. RCMP said their Major Crimes Unit has taken over the investigation. Police said they're looking for anyone who may have video of the 54 Map 3 Subdivision area from between 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. on Saturday.

Searchers find body of sole occupant of abandoned boat on Lake Winnipeg

RCMP say they were contacted Sunday morning that an abandoned boat was found in open water near Willow Island, south of Gimli. Upon arrival, local Coast Guard authorities told officers that a wallet and cellphone were located on the boat, but there were no occupants. RCMP say they deployed their Marine Unit and Underwater Recovery Unit, and a few hours later searchers located a 62-year-old man in the water dead. Police say he was the sole occupant of the boat.
