INFLUENCER Gabriella Bardsley blamed her 'quasi-celebrity' status and hurtful jibes made at a party for her drink-driving, a court heard.
The 23-year-old, daughter of Real Housewives of Cheshire star Tanya Bardsley, was more than three times over the limit when stopped by cops near home in Wilmslow, Cheshire, in May.

Lawyer Gary Hughes claimed she had driven her car after fleeing a pal's party when someone recognised her from ITVX reality series The Bardsley Bunch and made rude comments.
She was pulled over after driving through a police blockade at an accident site.
Mr Hughes said: 'Some people who were uninvited identified her as somebody who was on TV in a TV series.'
'They decided to take it upon themselves to begin making hurtful jibes towards Ms Bardsley.
'She recognises it was a colossal error of judgment to leave the party impetuously and get in her car.'
He added: 'It's wasn't a flagrant disregard for the law.
'It was borne out of a set of circumstances and her quasi-celebrity status.'
Bardsley had previously admitted drink-driving at South Cheshire magistrates' court.
Yesterday, she got a 29-month road ban and must do 200 hours of unpaid work.
Bardsley made no comment as she left court but tried to hide from waiting photographers by using an umbrella.

Migrant in taxpayer-funded hotel who sexually assaulted woman, 19, with special needs in broad daylight jailed

A CHANNEL migrant has been handed a prison sentence after he sexually assaulted an "extremely vulnerable" young girl with learning difficulties. Aron Hadsh, 27, from Eritrea was living in a taxpayer-funded hotel near Heathrow when he attacked the 19-year-old in June last year. 1 She had been sent by her mother to pick up fruit from a foodbank when she was subjected to the horror attack by Hadsh. A court heard on Friday that Hadsh pursued the vulnerable young girl to a park in Fulham, West London. Hadsh reportedly pinned the vulnerable young girl to his lap, grabbed her breasts and touched her crotch for several minutes. She eventually managed to escape the man and get away from the horror ordeal, she said Hadsh laughed as she ran away from. Hadsh illegally entered the UK around three years ago after crossing the Channel. He was caught five weeks after launching his sickening attack on the young girl when she spotted him while out shopping. Members of the public detained the vile fiend until the police arrived to arrest him. The court heard how the victim has a number of learning difficulties, presents as "very childlike" and has an "extreme vulnerability." Hadsh was sentenced to 14 months in prison for his disgusting attack and slapped with a five-year restraining order. He was convicted of one count of sexual assault and acquitted of one other count of kidnapping in May. As he has already spent nearly a year in custody Hadsh will avoid spening any further time in prison. This is despite a judge saying he poses a "high risk of serious harm to the public." In a statement read out in court, the victim said: "On the day it happened it made me feel very nervous and scared. I felt that my body shut down. "All my life it has been hard to make friends, and this has put me back in my own bubble. "I was scared to see him again, in case he would kill me, because he was laughing after he ran off and sexually assaulted me." Hadsh showed no remorse and continued to plead his innocence from the dock during sentencing. Judge Alastair Rolf Hammerton told him: "I understand your conditions in prison are more challenging because English is not your first language." He went on to explain that Hadsh was intoxicated at the time of the offence and said the fiend posed "a high risk of sexual reoffending." He added "Your victim was an extremely vulnerable person. She felt scared and vulnerable." Hadsh appeared at his sentencing without representation after he sacked his counsel during the trial.

Alexandra Burke sets her sights on HUGE challenge as she puts baby dream on hold with footballer fiancé Darren Randolph

Alexandra Burke has set her sights on a huge challenge as she puts her baby dream on hold with her footballer fiancé Darren Randolph. The singer, 36, and her Middlesbrough goalkeeper fiancé, 37, are already parents to two children. The couple, who got engaged last year, welcomed their first child together in July 2022 and their second in September the following year. And while Alexandra has admitted she'd love to grow their family, it's not at the forefront of her mind just yet. In a new interview, the star shared that she hopes to complete two marathons before trying for another baby. She told the Mirror: 'Im going to do London next year and, by the grace of God, New York. And then think about more children. I'm desperate for more – we'd love four – but we're good with whatever the universe gives us because we're very lucky to even have two. 'We'd love to try, but just not right now… we're fitness freaks at the minute. I'm loving work and enjoying just being a mum and an actress.' Although a marathon demands immense focus and training, Alexandra is no stranger to challenges, having already conquered the London Landmarks Half Marathon earlier this year. She ran to raise money for Tommy's charity, a UK organization that supports families. It comes after Alexandra and Darren got engaged in September 2024 during a romantic candlelit dinner. Alexandra has said that having their young family by her side made Darren's proposal even more special, as she also revealed the couple's hopes of having more children in the near future. And three years, two children and an engagement later, the star has revealed how the couple first met after performing at Christmas in the Courtyard in aid of the Melissa Bell Foundation and Style For Stroke at the Rosewood Hotel, London. Alexandra told MailOnline that the pair came across each other on a dating sight and after just two weeks the singer had decided he was the one for her. She said: 'We never really talk about it, but we met on a dating site. 'I was on there for literally two weeks. I met Darren and came straight off. I lucked out, so I said I'm done, and I came off.' But despite being so sure of Darren, the Bad Boys singer confessed the proposal came as a surprise. She explained that although she had tried to drop some hints, she didn't think they'd been noticed. The star said: 'I actually said it on Loose Women maybe a couple of months beforehand. 'I was hinting on TV, and he didn't take that very well, and he didn't have any reaction, so nothing occurred to me that this was going to happen. 'I'm just over the moon that I'm going to marry my best friend.' And it wasn't just Alexandra who was over the moon, the Hallelujah singer revealed that her children were both pleased as well. She added that her fiancé had made sure to include them in the sweet proposal. While the performer confirmed she was excited about her upcoming nuptials, she candidly confessed that there would be some sadness as she wouldn't be able to share the moment with her mother Melissa Bell, who tragically passed away in 2017. But Alexandra said her mother is still with her every day. And with family life and the star's career, she said she hasn't even started to plan the moment she walks down the aisle and added that she's waiting for the right moment. 'If I'm completely honest, people are quite shocked that I haven't thought about it already.' she confessed. 'I haven't thought about anything because I haven't had a chance to. We're living in our gorgeous little bubble and loving that. 'I just think we'll plan it when the time is right.'

Parents 'spy' on their spouse by bugging kids' phones amid bitter custody battles

Parents fighting over access to children in the family courts are 'spying' on each other by placing recording and tracking devices on their kids. In one extreme case a woman made night-long recordings for more than two years in an effort to prevent her husband from having access to their children. Lawyers say it is now increasingly common for estranged parents to take secret recordings or place tracking devices on each other or their children in an attempt to gain the upper hand during an acrimonious divorce. It happens so frequently the Family Justice Council has been forced to publish guidance on the use of covert recordings. The advisory body said this has been as a result of technological advances that 'empower anyone with a mobile phone or a tablet to make recordings that would be the envy of yesterday's spies'. The guidance says that children must not be forced into covertly recording one of their parents during family disputes to use as evidence in court cases where such recordings may not be admissible. It adds that, while it may not necessarily be unlawful, 'the issue of legality should not be the sole consideration' and the court must consider how the recordings will affect the welfare of a child. In the foreword to the guidance, the President of the Family Division, Sir Andrew McFarlane, said: 'Whilst some covert recordings have been found to have evidential value, the secret nature of them can intrude on the privacy of parents, children and professionals, causing harm and often leading to concerns about the accuracy of the recording.' Sarah Manning, a partner at Hall Brown Family Law, said: 'Those parents who feel the need to make covert recordings or spy on their children and exes often don't realise that it can ultimately be counterproductive, showing the kind of behaviour which undermines rather than strengthening their cases.'
