What to Stream: Madonna, 'Happy Gilmore 2,' Judge Judy and Jenna Ortega and Paul Rudd team up
Also among the streaming offerings worth your time, as selected by The Associated Press' entertainment journalists: Jenna Ortega and Paul Rudd playing father and daughter in the horror-comedy 'Death of a Unicorn,' gamers get a pirate adventure with Wuchang: Fallen Feathers and Judge Judy rules on true crime in her new series for Prime Video, 'Justice on Trial.'
New movies to stream from July 21-27
— It's been almost 30 years since we first met Adam Sandler's hockey player-turned-golfer Happy Gilmore, but Sandler finally got the gang back together for a sequel. 'Happy Gilmore 2,' coming to Netflix on Friday, July 25, brings back many familiar faces, including Julie Bowen, Ben Stiller and Christopher McDonald as Shooter McGavin, alongside an army of new co-stars from Bad Bunny to Post Malone as well as a few familiar faces in the golf world. This time around, Happy also has kids, including four hockey goon sons played by Ethan Cutkosky ('Shameless'), Conor Sherry ('Shake Shack'), Maxwell Jacob Friedman (a pro wrestler) and newcomer Philip Schneider. Here's hoping it's as quotable as the first — we've been needing some new Sandlerisms.
— November, and 'Wicked: For Good,' is coming fast. What better time to catch up with 'Wicked,' which begins streaming on Prime Video on Friday, July 25? In her review for The Associated Press, Jocelyn Noveck wrote that it might convert a non-musical lover into one, but that, 'if people breaking into song delights rather than flummoxes you, if elaborate dance numbers in village squares and fantastical nightclubs and emerald-hued cities make perfect sense to you, and especially if you already love 'Wicked,' well then, you will likely love this film.'
— Jenna Ortega and Paul Rudd play father and daughter in the horror-comedy 'Death of a Unicorn,' about, well, just that (and also exploitative billionaires). It was met with mixed reviews: Some enjoyed the chemistry of the characters and the fun it has with its outlandish plot, while others saw those efforts as strained and hollow. You can decide for yourself when it hits HBO Max on Friday, July 25. Richard E. Grant and Will Poulter also star.

New music to stream from July 21-27
— It is the stuff of pop music mythology. Madonna's long-rumored album 'Veronica Electronica' — originally conceived as a remix companion to 1998's blockbuster 'Ray of Light' — finally arrives Friday, July 25. It is that and more. Begin with the new-to-fans, original demo of 'Gone, Gone, Gone.'
— The second and final part of an expansive documentary series on the life and career of Billy Joel hits HBO Max on Friday, July 25. And it's not too late to catch up on the first half of 'Billy Joel: And So It Goes,' either. It's an in-depth look at the beloved singer-songwriter, replete with never-before-seen performance footage and more.
— Rock 'n' roll fans, listen up. On Friday, July 25, the original Alice Cooper band lineup reunites to release 'The Revenge Of Alice Cooper,' the first album in over 50 years to feature that original lineup. It gives the album a sort of revived spirit — all high-octane riffs.

New series to stream from July 21-27
— Judy Sheindlin, beloved for her syndicated series 'Judge Judy' that ended production in 2021 after 25 years, rules on true crime in her new series for Prime Video. In 'Justice on Trial,' actual criminal court cases are recreated by trial lawyers with Sheindlin presiding over the courtroom. Will she find the right decision was made? Find out Monday when all eight episodes drop.
— Malin Akerman and Brittany Snow star in 'The Hunting Wives' for Netflix. It's based on a thriller mystery novel by May Cobb. Snow plays Sophie, a woman whose husband's job requires trading the East Coast for east Texas. She's a fish out of water until she meets Margot (Akerman,) the queen bee of a group of women known as the Hunting Wives. These wives aren't trading recipes or having tea — they like to party. Sophie finds Margot's carefree lifestyle and confidence to be intoxicating until she gets caught up in a murder investigation. All eight episodes drop Monday.
— A new Hulu miniseries called 'Washington Black' is also based on a book of the same name, but this one was shortlisted for the Booker Prize in 2018. Set in the early 1800s, Wash — short for George Washington Black — is born into slavery in Barbados. Wash's talent for art and curiosity catches the attention of a scientist named Titch (played by Tom Ellis), who encourages his education and creativity. When danger strikes, Titch and Wash escape in a hot-air balloon that lands in Nova Scotia. The series follows Wash's adventures as he grows into a man played by newcomer Ernest Kingsley Jr. Sterling K. Brown is an executive producer and also has a role in the show. Stream the episodes beginning Wednesday.
— An acclaimed British crime drama called 'Code of Silence' comes to BritBox on Thursday. Rose Ayling-Ellis plays a deaf cafeteria worker who begins working with the local police because of her ability to read lips. This new world is exhilarating but also dangerous. The show has already been renewed for a second season.
New video games to play from July 21-27
— Last year's Black Myth: Wukong turned Chinese folklore into a blockbuster game, and another Chinese studio is hoping to repeat that success with Wuchang: Fallen Feathers. It tells the tale of a pirate who wakes up with amnesia and a bad case of 'feathering' — not only is she sprouting blue plumage, but it's driving her insane. The adventure takes place during the end of the Ming Dynasty in the 1600s, and Chengdu-based developer Leenzee Games promises a mix of historical figures and supernatural monsters. Take flight Thursday, on PlayStation 5, Xbox X/S or PC.

'Thumbnail Testing' a New Play at Warner Bros Discovery (NASDAQ:WBD) Stock Slips
A little profit-taking to close out the week at entertainment giant Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD)? That is not out of line, especially after yesterday's 52-week high hit. It certainly explains why investors took the news of Warner's new plan to start thumbnail testing is meeting with seemingly modest disapproval. Shares are down fractionally in the closing minutes of Friday's trading. Elevate Your Investing Strategy: Take advantage of TipRanks Premium at 50% off! Reports note that Warner plans to start doing A/B testing on photo thumbnails used on HBO Max, a development that one of its biggest rivals, Netflix (NFLX), has already been engaged in for most of the last decade. Essentially, the project will show users several different thumbnail images for a particular video, or set of videos. Then, the system will be able to track which thumbnail displayed ended up with the most user engagement. The testing will be done with the most popular titles in Warner's stable at first, reports note, but then will expand outward from there. By the end of 2026's first half, almost all of the catalog should be using A/B testing on thumbnails. For now, humans will be handling thumbnail construction, but in the future, that job will be artificial intelligence's baby, reports note. Updates on DCU Movies With Warner's Superman win still ringing in its collective ears, attention turned to two of the other major properties in its arsenal. Namely, the two other founding members of the Justice League: Batman, with the upcoming The Brave and the Bold, and an as-yet-untitled Wonder Woman movie. The bad news, for those eager to catch the latest comic book outings, is that these two will be a while in coming. The scripts are still being written, and shooting cannot begin until the scripts are actually ready to go, as DC Studios CEO James Gunn noted. While the news of further waiting is not pleasant, it is comforting to note that Warner seems focused on giving the creative team the time it needs to properly incubate titles and bring out quality product. Is WBD Stock a Good Buy? Turning to Wall Street, analysts have a Moderate Buy consensus rating on WBD stock based on 10 Buys and eight Holds assigned in the past three months, as indicated by the graphic below. After a 48.1% rally in its share price over the past year, the average WBD price target of $13 per share implies 1.76% upside potential.

‘Happy Gilmore 2' star Adam Sandler's one crucial rule for his daughters navigating Hollywood
Comedy icon Adam Sandler is swinging back into action in "Happy Gilmore 2." After nearly 30 years, he's brought back some familiar faces — and some new ones — for the movie, including his two daughters. Sandler has been in the Hollywood spotlight for more than three decades, and he told Fox News Digital he's shared one crucial piece of advice with his kids, Sunny, 18, and Sadie, 16, as they followed in his acting footsteps. "Be nice to everybody," the comedian said. His co-star, Julie Bowen, 55, who reprised her role as publicist Virginia Venit in the sequel, echoed that sentiment. "You raised them right," she said, praising Sandler for his parenting skills. "Be nice to everybody. Don't just be nice to the fancy people," Bowen said. Sandler added, "The crew is all you got. They work their a--es off." WATCH: ADAM SANDLER'S ONE PIECE OF ADVICE TO HIS DAUGHTERS FOLLOWING IN HIS ACTING FOOTSTEPS He said he's urged his children to be kind to everyone, whether they're famous or behind-the-scenes crew members. But Sandler had different advice about those making an impressive amount of cash. "Be nice to everybody. … Anyone who is making too much cash, you can give them a snap." Sandler joked, "Anyone who is making too much cash, you can give them a snap." The "Happy Gilmore" writer and producer quipped he wasn't aware his two daughters were going to be featured in the sequel. "I didn't even know they were in this," he told Fox News Digital. "No, they showed up on set, and I said, 'What's up? What are you doing here?' They're like, 'We're in this dude.'" Sandler's wife Jackie is also featured in the film, along with several other new and familiar faces, including Chris McDonald; Ben Stiller; Haley Joel Osment; Eminem; Benito Antonio Martinez Ocasio, better known as rapper Bad Bunny; NFL star Travis Kelce; and others. His famous character, Happy Gilmore, first came out swinging in the original movie in 1996. Now, Sandler's short-fused legend is making a comeback in the comedy sports sequel. This time around, his character is focused on making his kid's dream come true. Sandler has had many memorable roles throughout his illustrious career in Hollywood, from movies like "Billy Madison," "The Waterboy," "The Wedding Singer," "The Longest Yard," "Just Go With It," "Blended," "50 Frist Dates" and many others. The 58-year-old told Fox News Digital the key to a successful career in comedy. "We work hard with a bunch of people who like to create, write stuff down, try to make it fresh as much as we can and think about the audience." His co-star Bowen is back by Sandler's side for the sequel, but she initially didn't think she would be. The "Modern Family" star previously admitted she thought Sandler would replace her with a "younger woman." "Why did I say that?" Bowen laughed. "Why did you say that? I would never do that!" Sandler replied. WATCH: ADAM SANDLER JOKES HE WOULD REPLACE ONE 'HAPPY GILMORE' CHARACTER WITH A YOUNGER STAR "My sons told me … called me up from school and said, 'Mom, you're not going to be in Happy Gilmore 2," Bowen said. "I said, 'There is no Happy Gilmore 2!' This is before there was even a movie. … I would know if there was going to be one. I think I would've heard something. … It was bad intel." Sandler chimed in and jokingly said, "If I'm replacing anyone it would be Shooter," referencing McDonald's character. "You're going to replace Shooter with Sydney Sweeney?" Bowen laughed, as Sandler screamed, "Yes!" "She would be great with the finger guns," Bowen remarked. In the original "Happy Gilmore" movie, McDonald portrayed the ultimate villain as he attempted to sabotage Sandler's golf game. While McDonald was the reigning king of the PGA, his world was turned upside-down by the wild, unconventional and unapologetically brash Happy Gilmore. When Fox News Digital asked McDonald if the rivalry between his character and Sandler's was just as intense this time around, he replied, "It's even better." "But, at the same time, I had a really redemptive moment where I realized what we should do together to save this great game of golf." "Happy Gilmore 2" premieres on Netflix July 25.
