Waaree Renewable Technologies jumps nearly 30% in 3 days ahead of Q1 results
The stock has now gained in three straight sessions, rallying 5 percent and 17.5 percent in the last two days before Thursday's spike. Overall, Waaree Renewable has jumped 29.7 percent during this three-day rally, reclaiming the ₹ 1,200 mark for the first time in months.
Despite the recent rebound, the stock remains nearly 39 percent below its 52-week high of ₹ 2,074.95, touched in September 2024. It had also slipped to a 52-week low of ₹ 732.05 in April 2025. The ongoing recovery has been particularly sharp in July, with the stock already up 23 percent this month, offsetting a 5 percent drop in June and building on a 10 percent rise seen in May.
Notably, Waaree Renewable Technologies was listed in October 2023 at an issue price of ₹ 1,503. Even with the recent gains, the stock continues to trade below its listing price.
Investor interest has picked up ahead of the company's financial results for the quarter ended June 2025 (Q1FY26). In an exchange filing made post-market hours on Monday, the company informed that its board will meet on Thursday, July 17, to consider the unaudited standalone and consolidated financial results.
The results come at a time when broader market sentiment toward renewable energy stocks has turned positive, backed by strong execution and sector tailwinds.
In the previous quarter (Q4FY25), Waaree Renewable Technologies posted a robust 83 percent year-on-year jump in consolidated net profit to ₹ 93.76 crore, compared to ₹ 51.31 crore in the corresponding period of the previous year. This performance was driven by a 74 percent rise in total revenue, which rose to ₹ 476.57 crore from ₹ 273.31 crore a year earlier.
The company's core EPC (engineering, procurement, and construction) business led the growth, contributing ₹ 469.72 crore in Q4FY25, a 76 percent increase from the year-ago period. However, revenue from power sales remained flat, coming in at ₹ 6.85 crore versus ₹ 6.86 crore in Q4FY24.
According to Kotak Institutional Equities, FY2025 has been a record year for solar energy with 23.8 GW of new capacity added. The brokerage noted that solar manufacturing capacity is also expanding rapidly, with 91 GW of ALMM-compliant modules and 27 GW of solar cells available. Kotak expects the sector to reach supply-demand equilibrium by the second half of FY2027.
However, the US solar module demand remains under watch due to ongoing changes in import regulations and trade policies.

TVS Motor unveils 2025 edition of TVS Apache RTR 310
Chennai, Jul 18 (PTI) Two and three-wheeler manufacturer TVS Motor Company has rolled out its highly popular motorcycle 2025 Apache RTR 310 cc with 'performance-focused' upgrade and along with providing 'Built-to-Order' feature to customers, the company said on Friday. The 2025 TVS Apache RTR Base variant has been launched at an introductory price of Rs 2,39,990, while the top variant at Rs 2.57 lakh. The Built to Order motorcycle is priced from Rs 2.75 lakh onwards and it would be available in major metros including Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, and Chennai, the city-headquartered company said in a company statement on Friday. Some of the new features that are included in the motorcycle are OBD2B-compliant, USD 43 dia front suspension, sequential turn signal Lamp, hand guards, transparent clutch cover, drag torque control, and three new colour options. The OBD2B compliance refers to on-board diagnostics systems conforming to stricter emission norms. The motorcycle delivers a peak power at 35.6PS at 9,700 rpm and 28.7 Nm of torque at 6,650 rpm, the company said. Commenting on the launch, TVS Motor Head-Business Premium Vimal Sumbly said, 'The TVS Apache RTR 310 has been a trendsetter in the naked sports segment since its debut. US rejects India's WTO claim on auto tariffs, cites security grounds
The United States has insisted that the Trump administration's tariffs on auto and auto parts were enacted on national security grounds and are not subject to retaliatory action. The comments come in response to India's claim that its automobile-related tariffs fall under 'safeguard measures' as defined by the World Trade Organisation (WTO). The communication was made in response to India's WTO notification signalling its intent to impose retaliatory duties on select US goods. India has claimed that the 25 per cent tariffs imposed by the Trump administration on automobile imports meet the definition of safeguards under WTO rules—temporary protections allowed to shield domestic industries from import surges. US says safeguard rules don't apply In a formal communication dated July 17, the US reiterated its stance that the 25 per cent tariffs on autos and auto parts, imposed under Section 232 of the Trade Expansion Act, are rooted in domestic security concerns rather than protectionist motives. Concluding that the measure, therefore, does not fall within the scope of the WTO's Agreement on Safeguards. 'These actions are… not safeguard measures,' the US said in the submission. 'Accordingly, there is no basis for India's proposal to suspend concessions or other obligations under the Agreement on Safeguards with respect to these measures.' The US, however, has said it will not engage in discussions on the matter under the Safeguards Agreement framework and further accused New Delhi of failing to meet procedural obligations under that agreement, including consultation requirements. Washington also accused India of failing to fulfil required procedural steps under the agreement, including prior consultations. It said it would not entertain discussions on the issue under the safeguards framework. India calls move is procedural, WTO-compliant Indian officials dismissed the criticism, stating that the filing was procedural and consistent with existing WTO rules. While New Delhi has not specified which US imports might face higher duties, the notice is seen as strategic signalling amid ongoing bilateral trade negotiations. 'This doesn't impact our current negotiations,' said an Indian official, referring to the fifth round of US-India trade talks underway in Washington. India challenges steel, aluminium tariff This is not India's first attempt to challenge Section 232 tariffs. Earlier this month, it revised a similar notification in response to the US raising steel and aluminium duties to 50 per cent. In 2019, India imposed retaliatory tariffs on 28 US goods, including almonds, apples, and chemicals, after earlier rounds of Section 232 duties. While the WTO allows retaliatory actions in response to safeguard measures, the distinction becomes murkier when tariffs are imposed on national security grounds — a justification that has become increasingly common in global trade disputes. Legal experts say the WTO has yet to clearly define the boundaries of such claims, leaving countries to interpret the rules through their own lenses. Trump tariffs and policies Trade relations with the US have entered into chaos since Donald Trump returned to office and began imposing tariffs on a long list of trading partners. In April, the White House introduced a universal 10 per cent baseline tariff on most imports, with 'reciprocal' tariffs of up to 70 per cent targeting specific countries. Trump then imposed a 90-day pause, set to lapse on July 9, as markets started to crash. While some countries were granted extensions until August 1 to conclude trade deals, India has yet to reach an agreement. Negotiations remain ongoing, despite earlier expectations that New Delhi would be among the first to finalise a bilateral deal under Trump's renewed trade agenda.
