Realme GT 7 review
Realme is taking the GT 7 series global, or at least taking it outside of China. We've been using the vanilla GT 7 for a while now, just in time to have our review ready for launch day.
Now, this global GT 7 should not be confused with the GT7 for China. The global GT 7 (notice the space) has a slightly smaller 6.78-inch display with a lower 120Hz refresh rate. Instead of the Dimensity 9400+ inside the Chinese model, the GT 7 gets a Dimensity 9400e. And while the Chinese model only has a 50MP main camera and an 8MP ultrawide, the GT 7 we have here is rocking an extra 50MP 2x telephoto camera on the back. It also has a much higher resolution 32MP selfie camera on the front.
As you see, that's plenty of differences. But it doesn't really matter as, outside of China, most people will only be able to buy the global model that we are reviewing today. Realme GT 7 5G specs at a glance: Body: 162.4x76.1x8.3mm, 206g; plastic back and frame, Gorilla Glass 7i front; IP69 ingress resistance rating.

The final highlight on the Realme GT 7 specs sheet is the battery and charging setup, which Realme is really proud of. The phone has got an extra large 7,000 mAh battery, which is backed by fast 120W charging - that's certainly a combo you don't see every day. Unboxing
The Realme GT 7 ships in a pretty standard two-piece cardboard box.
Inside the box, you will find a nice soft, black TPU protective case and a 120W SuperVOOC-branded wall charger. Not all markets are getting the charger in the box with EU being the most obvious exception.
Realme still uses a USB Type-A connection on the side of its SuperVooc chargers, and the provided Type-A to Type-C cable also looks to be proprietary, with an extra pin. So, you need to keep track of both items if you want to enjoy the fastest possible charging speeds on the GT 7.

Exclusive: Here's our first look at NxtQuantum's AI+ Nova 2 5G smartphone
Last week, we learned that AI+, a smartphone brand part of NxtQuantum Shift Technologies led by Madhav Sheth, will launch its first smartphone by the end of June. And yesterday, the brand announced that it would launch its Nova series 5G smartphones in India on June 25 without revealing the names or specs of the phones. Well, we know one of the smartphones will be called Nova 2 5G, and we've got an exclusive image of the phone to share with you. The picture shows the back of the AI+ Nova 2 5G, having a glossy panel with a squircle-shaped camera island in the top-left corner. The island houses an LED flash and two cameras. There's also text on the right side of the camera module that reads "Matrix AI Camera," suggesting that the AI+ Nova 2 5G will come with some AI-powered camera features. A sticker on the back cover of the AI+ Nova 2 5G reveals dual-SIM support, with the phone having 6GB RAM and 128GB of storage onboard. However, there could be more memory options available that are currently unknown. That's all the image of the AI+ Nova 2 5G reveals. AI+ said the Nova series smartphones launching on June 25 will be "affordable AI-powered 5G smartphones," starting at INR5,000. The lineup will include "three distinct models" priced between INR5,000 and INR8,000, promising to "redefine the smartphone experience for Indian consumers, offering high-speed 5G connectivity, powerful AI features, and sustainable design." Speaking of sustainability, the Nova series smartphones are manufactured using refurbished parts to reduce e-waste. And, as a part of the brand's commitment to the Indian government's "Make in India" initiative, the smartphones will be assembled locally by Ismartu. The brand previously confirmed that AI+ smartphones will run NxtQuantum OS, which, it says, "has been uniquely designed by Indian engineers, offering a user-friendly interface optimized for the Indian market." The AI+ Nova series smartphones go on sale in India starting June 25 through offline retail partners and leading online platforms, including Flipkart. You can expect to hear more about them in the coming days.

TSMC expected to charge $45,000 for silicon wafers used to produce 1.4nm chips by 2028
Next year we should start to see flagship smartphones move from using application processors (AP) made with the 3nm process node to those made at 2nm. This will result in the use of smaller Gate-All-Around (GAA) transistors allowing more of them to fit inside an AP. Using vertical nanosheets stacked horizontally, GAA transistors surround the channel on all four sides reducing current leakage, improving the drive current, and enhancing the performance and energy efficiency of these SoCs. Silicon wafers for 2nm production cost $30,000 which is a high price to pay for the underlying substrate on which chips are built in layers. Getting manufacturers to pay $30,000 for each wafer is hard enough; TSMC started accepting orders for 2nm chips on April 1st. But the price of silicon wafers is about to get even more prohibitive. According to China Times , when TSMC moves to its 1.4nm Angstrom process node, silicon wafer prices will rise 50% to a whopping $45,000 per wafer. We probably won't see TSMC churning out 1.4nm components until 2028 at the earliest and at $45K, only TSMC's most well-heeled customers will be able to afford it. Luckily for the world's largest foundry, some of its largest customers might not think twice about shelling out such a sum for a silicon wafer. The firms include Apple, Nvidia, AMD, and Broadcom. It is interesting to see that Apple typically values the performance of the iPhone above other aspects of the device. For example, even though Apple is well behind Google and Samsung in AI, the company made sure it was among the first to pay the higher wafer prices when TSMC started producing 3nm chips. TSMC's 2nm timeline is probably behind Apple's decision to use the foundry's 3rd generation 3nm process node (N3P) on this year's iPhone 17 line expected to be unveiled in September. Apple will probably be among the first to pay $30,000 for 2nm production. The A20 and A20 Pro APs powering the iPhone 18 series could be the first 2nm chipsets found inside the iPhone. When the time comes for TSMC to schedule 1.4nm production in a few years, you can be sure that Apple will pay the $45,000 price for silicon wafers. It might do so begrudgingly, but it will pay the higher price to keep the iPhone's performance ahead of the rest of the pack. The Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 AP powering the Galaxy S26 Ultra will also be produced using TSMC's third generation 3nm chipset. The same process node will be used by MediaTek for its Dimensity 9500 AP.

Nothing Phone (3) and Nothing Headphone (1) colors and prices leak
Nothing is unveiling its first-ever proper flagship device, the Phone (3), in July, and today its colorways and prices have purportedly been outed by a tipster over on X. According to this source, the Nothing Phone (3) will come in black and white, and will start at $799 with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. It will go up to $899 with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. Nothing Phone (3a) Pro The base price is similar to what Nothing CEO Carl Pei teased a while back - £800. However, it's interesting to see this leak referencing US dollar pricing - we have to wonder, does this mean the Phone (3) will be fully launching in the US, not just as part of a developer beta program? That's still a mystery, as are most things regarding this device. What we do know is that it won't have Nothing's trademark Glyph interface on the back, though this may just get upgraded to a customizable dot-matrix display, if rumors prove to be correct. Nothing is also working on its first-ever pair of over-ear headphones, and these will allegedly be called Nothing Headphone (1). They will be offered in black and white with a release date of September 30 and a price of $299. Source
