Mike Florio puts Packers QB Jordan Love on notice
On the heels of a regressive 2024 campaign, the Green Bay Packers need more from quarterback Jordan Love in 2025. That is at least how NFL analyst Mike Florio views the situation two months ahead of the 26-year-old's fifth season.

With the 2025 season on deck, Florio made his list of quarterbacks who he views as on the 'hot seat' for the upcoming season. The list included Love, whom the NBC Sports writer views as not necessarily there yet, but potentially under scrutiny in 2025.
'[Jordan Love is] not on the hot seat per se, but he needs to play better in 2025 than he did in 2024,' Florio wrote. 'If not, he will be on the hot seat in 2026. The wild card in Green Bay is new CEO Ed Policy, who operates as the de facto owner of the team.'
Love threw for 3,389 yards, 25 touchdowns and 11 interceptions in 2024. His numbers were concerning decreases across the board from his 2023 campaign. Love also dealt with multiple nagging injuries on the year, though he would only miss two games.
Despite the down year, the Packers remain committed to Love. Green Bay still went 11-6 in 2024, its best win total since the 2021 season.

Florio added that new president and CEO Ed Policy could have a say in Love's future. Policy takes over for the retiring Mark Murphy in the 2025 season. Murphy has held the role since taking over in 2007 but is retiring due to the organization's rule that all executives must step down once turning 70. Since Green Bay is the lone team without a singular owner or ownership group, Policy practically has full control of the operations.

The Packers exemplified their commitment to Love in the 2025 NFL Draft, where they built around their quarterback. Green Bay added two wideouts, Matthew Golden and Savion Williams, in the first three rounds of the draft.

Golden and Williams add to a Packers receiving room that returns their top eight receivers from 2024. Green Bay also has running back Josh Jacobs back after he led the team in total scrimmage yards and touchdowns in his first season with the team.
The Packers' receivers have been among the most scrutinized position group in the league, making the offseason investment necessary. However, should Golden and Williams elevate the room to the level they are capable of, Love will have no reason not to improve in 2025.

Defender Aarón Herrera was shown his second yellow card in the 89th minute and D.C. played a man down the rest of the way. The opening whistle was delayed about 45 minutes due to inclement weather. The Crew honored Guillermo Barros Schelotto prior to the game. The Phoenix Suns are resting Ryan Dunn, Oso Ighodaro and rookies Khaman Maluach and Koby Brea for their final 2025 NBA Summer League game Saturday, July 19, against the Portland Trail Blazers at Cox Pavilion in Las Vegas The Suns (1-3) have lost their past three games in Vegas while the Blazers are 3-1 through four games. Second-round pick Rasheer Fleming is set to play. He missed the first two games with right knee soreness, but has played the past two. He's scored seven points in each game. Fleming will get the start along with Boogie Ellis, Khalif Battle, Moses Wood and CJ Huntley. Ighodaro played in the first four games for the Suns, averaging 12.3 points on 57.1% shooting and 8.5 rebounds. Dunn, Maluach and Brea have each seen action in three games. Dunn has led the team in scoring at 14.7 points a game. Shooting 48.5% from the field, Dunn has made 37.5% of his 3s. Dunn appeared to hurt his left foot or ankle in the third quarter of Wednesday's loss to Minnesota, but played through it in the fourth. Maluach, the 10th overall pick in the 2025 draft, is averaging 10 points on 35.7% shooting in Vegas. The 7-footer averaged 5.7 rebounds and 1.3 shots a game. Brea sat out Wednesday with a left thumb sprain after injuring it Phoenix's previous game against Atlanta. The second-round pick averaged 12 points, shooting 42.9% from 3 in his three games. Kumar Rocker, Rowdy Tellez lead Rangers past slumping Tigers 4-1
ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — Kumar Rocker took a no-hitter into the sixth inning and Rowdy Tellez hit a three-run home run in his second game with the Rangers as Texas beat the slumping Detroit Tigers 4-1 on Saturday night. Rocker (4-4) pitched 6 1/3 innings, allowing only Wenceel Pérez's two-out single in the sixth that was pulled down the first-base line on an 0-2 cut fastball that was low and inside.
