
PDWP approves Rs31.2bn for 16 uplifts projects
The approvals were granted during the 86th meeting of the PDWP, chaired by Chairman Planning and Development Board Dr Naeem Rauf. The projects span key sectors including irrigation, fisheries & wildlife, forestry, and roads and bridges.
Key projects include the establishment of Cath Labs at selected District Headquarters Hospitals across Punjab at a cost of over Rs2.044 billion, and the construction of the Pari Saydein Dam in Rawalpindi District with an estimated cost of Rs3.973 billion. A water logging mitigation project in Rahim Yar Khan was also approved, valued at Rs2.887 billion.
Other notable schemes include the establishment of a Model Fish Market in Lahore (Rs48.138 million), rehabilitation of the Sialkot–Marala Road (Rs1.372 billion), and improvement of the DI Khan to Darya Khan Road (Rs1.067 billion). Additional road infrastructure projects were approved in Sheikhupura, Farooqabad, Tammun, Nowshera Virkan, Sharaqpur, Renala Khurd, and Chiniot, among others.
Dualization and reconstruction works were also sanctioned for Shahi Road in Rahim Yar Khan and the Kharian–Dinga–Mandi Bahauddin Road up to Amra Kalan.

PDWP approves six uplift schemes
LAHORE: The Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) Punjab for the year 2025-26 on Friday approved six development schemes of different departments' worth over Rs 36 billion. The meeting was chaired by the Chairman Planning & Development Board Punjab Dr. Naeem Rauf which was also attended Secretary P&D Board Rafaqat Ali, Secretary Agriculture Iftikhar Ali Sahoo, members of the P&D Board, and other senior officers. The approved scheme includes Chief Minister's Punjab Hi-Tech Farm Mechanization Financing Program (2025–26 to 2028–29) at an estimated cost of over Rs. 8.826 billion and Agricultural Farm Mechanization Project (2025–26 to 2027–28) at an estimated cost of over Rs. 6.169 billion. The third scheme was Directorate of Provincial Healthcare Service Monitoring & Evaluation System (Revised) at an estimated cost of over Rs. 2.104 billion. Similarly, the PDWP also approved community empowerment and strengthening of healthcare access through Maryam Nawaz Health Clinics (Revised) at an estimated cost of over Rs. 9.360 billion. The meeting also given green signal to chief minister's meal programme for enrolled special students in special education institutions across Punjab at an estimated cost of Rs. 972.584 million. PDWP approves five uplift schemes worth Rs12bn
LAHORE: The Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) has approved five major development schemes across multiple sectors with a combined estimated cost of Rs. 12,090.624 million. According to an official statement, the approved projects include the establishment of Garment Cities in Punjab at an estimated cost of Rs. 4,184.498 million, and the setting up of a Project Management Unit (PMU) for the revamping of DHQ/THQ hospitals in the province, with an allocation of Rs. 1,717.299 million. The PDWP also sanctioned funds for the construction of a Population Welfare House in Punjab at a cost of Rs. 1,388.359 million, and the widening of the metalled road from (N-55) Chowkiwala to the Atomic Energy Project (17 km) in District D.G. Khan, which will cost Rs. 1,153.230 million. Additionally, the rehabilitation of the Khushab-Muzaffargarh road (District Boundary Khushab to Daal More) in District Jhang was approved with a budget of Rs. 3,647.238 million. PDWP Punjab approves three uplift schemes worth Rs8bn
LAHORE: The Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) of Punjab has approved three major development schemes worth over Rs 8 billion during its 11th meeting for the fiscal year 2025–26. The meeting was chaired by Chairman Planning & Development Board Punjab, Dr Naeem Rauf. These schemes, spanning multiple sectors, carry a combined estimated cost of Rs 8,067.818 million and are aimed at enhancing public service delivery, promoting aquaculture, and strengthening the post-harvest agricultural infrastructure in Punjab. Among the approved projects is the establishment of Hospital Management Information System and Queue Management Systems (PACS) in the hospitals of Specialized Healthcare & Medical Education (SHC&ME) Department. This revised scheme is expected to streamline hospital operations and patient management with an allocation of over Rs 4.179 billion. Another significant initiative is the Establishment of Aquaculture Malls in Punjab which aims to promote modern fish farming and seafood-related commerce. This revised project has been allocated over Rs3.838 billion. In the agriculture sector, the PDWP approved the Punjab Agri-Commodities Storage & Packaging Initiative: Community-Based Post-Harvest Infrastructure Development (PC-II), aimed at developing post-harvest facilities at the grassroots level. The estimated cost of this project is Rs50 million. The meeting was also attended by Secretary P&D Board Rafaqat Ali, Chief Economist Masood Anwar, members of the Planning and Development Board, and other senior officials.
