The attorney representing Shannon Sharpe's sexual assault accuser has announced a settlement in the lawsuit.
'After protracted and respectful negotiations, I'm pleased to announce that we have reached a mutually agreed upon resolution,' read a post by Texas-based attorney Tony Buzbee. 'All matters have now been addressed satisfactorily, and the matter is closed. The lawsuit will thus be dismissed with prejudice.'

Collier breaks WNBA All-Star scoring record, beating Team Clark

INDIANAPOLIS, July 19 (Reuters) - Minnesota Lynx forward Napheesa Collier eclipsed the WNBA All-Star scoring record with 36 points to lead her team past Team Clark 151-131 on Saturday, capping a two-day showcase of the league's top talent at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Collier bested the previous scoring record of 34 points set by Dallas Wings guard Arike Ogunbowale last year, marking another high point in a fantastic 2025 campaign for the league's leading scorer in Indianapolis. Team Clark, who played without their injured namesake captain Caitlin Clark of the Indiana Fever, never found their rhythm on offense despite the urgings of the enthusiastic hometown crowd. The All-Star Game a year ago pitted the 2024 U.S. Olympic team against All-Stars, a marketing masterstroke that put pride on the line for players who were snubbed from the Team USA roster. The mood was far lighter this time around, as players joked playfully on the court and took advantage of the novelty "4-point shot" at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse, where the hometown hero Caitlin Clark sat sidelined with injury. The Dallas Wings' first overall draft pick Paige Bueckers opened up the scoring as she drained a shot from the 4-point range for Team Collier and the side were up 22 points at the half to create an unassailable lead.

Trent Grisham slam in 9th lifts Yankees past Braves

July 20 - Trent Grisham's third career grand slam in the ninth inning propelled the visiting New York Yankees to a 12-9 come-from-behind win over the Atlanta Braves on Saturday to square their three-game series. Grisham hit a slider from Raisel Iglesias (4-6) into the right field seats to help New York take its first lead and end its three-game losing streak. It was Grisham's 17th homer, tying his career best. Luke Weaver (2-3) pitched 1 2/3 scoreless innings and earned the win. Anthony Volpe sparked the New York offense with a pair of home runs, his 11th and 12th, and a sacrifice fly. Volpe's first homer was a two-run shot in the fifth off Wander Suero that put New York on the scoreboard after the Braves scored the game's first five runs. The second was a solo homer off Dylan Lee that tied the game 8-8 in the eighth. It was Volpe's first multi-home run game of the season. The Braves built a 5-0 lead thanks in part to a 438-foot solo homer by Michael Harris II, his seventh of the season and first since June 13, and a three-run homer by Ozzie Albies, his ninth. Albies added a two-run single in the fifth to give Atlanta a 7-2 lead. New York rallied against the Atlanta bullpen, scoring four times against Enyel De Los Santos in the sixth to pull within 7-6. Jazz Chisholm Jr. drove in the first run with a single and Aaron Judge scored on an error. Volpe followed with a deep sacrifice fly and Chisholm scored on an infield grounder. Atlanta extended the lead to 8-6 on Matt Olson's RBI single in the sixth, but New York got it back on Cody Bellinger's solo homer, his 17th, in the seventh. Atlanta's Joey Wentz made his first start of the season and threw four scoreless innings. He allowed two hits and one walk with two strikeouts. Wentz, signed after being released by Minnesota, has not allowed a run in seven innings since joining the Braves. New York starter Will Warren was knocked out after allowing five runs on five hits and three walks in 3 2/3 innings of work. He struck out five. --Field Level Media

ESPN anchor Elle Duncan gives savage description of WNBA All-Star game

ESPN anchor Elle Duncan offered a brutal assessment of the WNBA All-Star Game after a first half without a ton of defensive effort. Team Collier led Team Clark 82-60 after just two quarters, with Collier herself leading all scorers with 18 points. And while a lack of defensive resistance is nothing new for an All-Star Game, Duncan had a savage description of how the first half had gone. 'We hope it gets a little bit more competitive,' she said. 'Because like a girls' trip to Cancun, right now, there's no D.' Fans were stunned by the wild remark after hearing it during halftime. 'This is a professional sports league lol,' one said. "We hope it gets a little bit more competitive. Because like a girls' trip to Cancun, right now, there's no D." Elle Duncan sums up the first half of the WNBA All-Star Game. — Awful Announcing (@awfulannouncing) July 20, 2025 'What such a great example for all the young girls watching!,' another added, tagging Duncan. And a third said: 'I'm sorry but this entire broadcast has been so corny' Ultimately, the defensive effort didn't tick up much in the second half as Team Collier held on to win 151-131. Collier led all scorers with 36 points, and was awarded with the game's MVP award, while Allisha Gray added 18. Kelsey Plum and Nneka Ogwumike both had 16 points as well. For Team Clark - who did not have Caitlin Clark on the floor due to injury - Kelsey Mitchell led the way with 20 points, while rookie Kiki Iriafen had 17 points and 10 rebounds. The game came after players protested for higher pay in the pregame warmups, wearing matching t-shirts which read 'pay us what you owe us.' Negotiations between the WNBA and the players WNBA players' union have continued in Indianapolis but failed to reach a deal and erase the friction between the two sides. According to Sports Illustrated, WNBA salaries range roughly from a minimum of $66,000 to a super maximum contract of around $250,000. The deadline to reach a new agreement is just three-and-a-half months away, on October 31.
