There has often been much speculation that UFC great Conor McGregor would eventually find himself in WWE.
Not only is the controversial fighter a widely recognized figure, but he is also known for hyping up his fights with a significant amount of trash talk.

Additionally, McGregor has often been seen interacting with WWE figures, most notably when he threatened that he would suplex Paul Heyman "on sight."
Former Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes even said that he would like to see McGregor "dip his toes in into the water with WWE."
Despite all of this, McGregor has never found his way into the squared circle, and one current WWE Superstar thinks that is for a good reason.

Valkyria isn't the only person to share this sentiment about McGregor. The aforementioned Paul Heyman has a similar opinion, although he had a bit of a longer explanation.
"I am still thriving on top. I would like to see if Conor McGregor, at 57, is still thriving at the very top of his entire industry," Heyman said, per Jeremy Lambert of Fightful. "We'll see if he's even relevant, we'll see if he even lives to 57 with his lifestyle."
"If he beats me up, who cares? I'm a 57-year-old Wise Man. I'm a Jew boy from the Bronx. This is a tough fight for Conor McGregor? I don't see him picking a fight with Roman Reigns. Then again, little people do what little minds tell them to do, and that's okay. I like the little guy, he's funny to me. Like a clown. He's here for my amusement."

Dave Portnoy goes ballistic on Barstool's Kirk Minihane over ‘Jew jokes': ‘You work for me'

Dave Portnoy unloaded on a Barstool Sports staffer for wanting to have an antisemitic comedian on a Barstool platform. On a recent episode of 'The Unnamed Show,' Portnoy and Kirk Minihane argued about comments made by a content creator who goes by Beyond Average Mick criticizing Portnoy's reaction to a recent antisemitic incident at a bar Portnoy owns in Philadelphia. The conversation reached a boiling point when Minihane told Portnoy not to tell him to 'shut up.' Warning: graphic language 'Shut the f–k up you bald f–k,' Portnoy responded. 'How's that?' 'OK, go ahead,' Minihane said in response. 'I'll never recover from that. Go ahead, Dave, continue.' 'Well, you're the one that's like big bossman 'don't tell me' — you work for me,' Portnoy shot back. 'You little bitch. You work for me.' 'For now,' Minihane replied. 'For now? Quit, I'll save $500K,' Portnoy said. 3 Dave Portnoy (L.) and Kirk Minihane argue on a recent episode of 'The Unnamed Show.' X/@VivaLaStool Previously, Temple student Mo Khan posted a video on social media showing a bottle-service sign in the Portnoy-owned bar with the message 'F–k the Jews' written on it. Portnoy spoke with Khan, who initially took responsibility, and offered to send him on an educational trip to Auschwitz concentration camp. 3 Dave Portnoy (L.) and Kirk Minihane argue on a recent episode of 'The Unnamed Show.' X/@VivaLaStool When Khan changed his story and claimed he was not involved in the incident, Portnoy called him a 'coward.' That prompted Beyond Average Mick to call Portnoy 'Rabbi Dave' and criticize him for what he believed was a sanctimonious response to the incident. When Minihane suggested having Beyond Average Mick on his Barstool show to have a conversation with Portnoy, Portnoy was not pleased. 'I hate this kid,' Portnoy said. 'I do think he's an antisemitic piece of s–t.' 3 Mo Khan posted a picture of a sign reading 'F–k the Jews' inside a Dave Portnoy-owned bar in Philadelphia. Instagram When Portnoy said certain 'Jew jokes' crossed a line, Minihane pushed back and suggested jokes of that nature should be allowed. 'You're telling a comedian not to make a joke,' Minihane said. 'OK, we'll ban Jew jokes of that nature. We'll get the constitution, we'll get congress and ban Jew jokes of that nature.' Minihane explained his reasoning for wanting to have Beyond Average Mick on the show. 'I thought it would be interesting to have somebody on who you disagree with and have a conversation,' Minihane said. 'Which I thought you were trying to do with bringing these guys to Auschwitz, trying to have a conversation so you can put a name and a face to someone you disagree with. You don't want to do that, so I was wrong.' Portnoy released a follow-up video Thursday. 'This is about the bigger thing. Clips, what we talk about, taken out of context,' Portnoy said. 'Now I'm seeing 'Dave wants to throw people in jail for Jew jokes' and 'Dave wants to regulate Jew jokes' and 'he's been this free speech guy and remember he sang that Ja Rule lyric like 10 years ago.' It's crazy. 'So, let me just set the record straight because people just watch the little clips. I was referring to, if you're making a Jew joke right now, currently, after a bunch of Jews got Molotov Cocktails thrown at them in Colorado, or after two Jew are gunned down outside a Jewish Museum, and your response is somehow 'It's the Jews' fault' or a veiled Jew joke, you're an antisemitic piece of s–t. That's what this was about.' 'This was about, after Mo Khan held the 'f–k the Jews' sign in my bar and I kicked him out and tried to make an example of him, a troll basically was saying I have no right to talk about that or be mad about that. It's just a joke, I make jokes, when are jokes illegal? Well, that's an antisemitic piece of s–t. I'm not saying he should be in jail. I'm not saying put in him in cuffs. I'm saying that's an antisemitic piece of s–t.'

Contract Set To Expire For Fan-Favorite WWE Superstar: Report

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. WWE Raw superstar Karrion Kross is currently in a contract year, with his agreement reportedly set to expire this summer. According to a recent report from Fightful Select, there has been no significant progress on a new deal. This uncertainty comes at a time when Kross is prominently featured in a significant storyline on Monday Night Raw. Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful had previously noted earlier in the year that Kross was in the final year of his WWE contract. Fightful recently asked sources close to the situation and Kross himself for an update on his contract status. The outlet reported that, based on the information they received, WWE has not yet approached Kross regarding a contract extension or renewal. Furthermore, Fightful has not heard indications that the company has expressed interest in doing so at this time. This lack of movement on a new deal is particularly noteworthy given Kross's current role on WWE Raw. He has been deeply involved in a compelling storyline, delivering cryptic promos and psychologically targeting Sami Zayn. He plays a key part in the narrative surrounding Zayn's potential character shift towards a more aggressive persona. His consistent on-screen presence makes his contract status a keen point of interest for many WWE fans. The WWE logo is seen on the front of the WWE wrestling world headquarters on January 28, 2024 in Stamford, Connecticut. WWE founder Vince McMahon resigned from the WWE and its parent company TKO as executive chairman and its board of directors following allegations of sexual assault made public in a lawsuit in Connecticut. A former employee Janel Grant accused McMahon, 78, of sexual assault and sexually trafficking her. MoreMore news: WWE News: Steve Austin Reveals Real-Life Vince McMahon Confrontation The report from Fightful Select also provided insight into WWE's recent practices concerning expiring talent contracts. While the company typically notifies talent about a month before their deals are up if they do not intend to renew, a more recent trend has seen WWE keep performers on television right up until such notifications are made or extension talks officially begin. As it stands, there are reportedly 'a few months remaining' on Kross's current WWE deal. This situation creates a degree of uncertainty around his future with the promotion, especially as other recent departures and contract non-renewals (such as those for R-Truth and Carlito) have been reported. Kross, often accompanied by Scarlett, made an impactful return to WWE in August 2022 under the new creative leadership of Triple H, following a previous release in November 2021. His second stint has seen him involved in various feuds across both SmackDown and Raw. His current dark and manipulative character work is drawing significant attention and is often praised for its intensity. WWE fans will be watching closely to see how his contract situation unfolds in the coming months. More WWE News: For more on WWE, head to Newsweek Sports.
