TV Host Says She Was Left 'Unable to Hear or Walk' After Her Drink Was Spiked at Bar: 'Can't Remember How I Got Home'
The 47-year-old said she was at a work event in the U.K. when the incident took place
'I remember feeling my legs go ... I can't even remember how I got home," said SinghGood Morning Britain host Ranvir Singh has revealed that she was once left unable to walk or hear after getting her drink spiked on a night out.
The TV host, 47, said the incident occurred while at a work event over a decade ago during a segment about the rise of drink-spiking in Britain on the U.K. show on Tuesday, July 1.
'It was about 7:30 p.m., in the evening and it was my first drink. I had gone to the bar and I was waiting, I think it might have been a work thing … but no one else had arrived,' Singh recalled of the scary incident.
'I had arrived early and I went to the bar and bought one glass of wine as you would do,' she continued. 'I probably drank half of it, or maybe three quarters, and I thought I'm just going to nip to the [restroom] before everyone arrives.'
At that moment, Singh said 'everything just started to swim."
'I remember feeling my legs go and I went downstairs. And by the time I came upstairs, I sort of managed to get myself up, I couldn't hear anything, my hearing had gone," she recalled.

After eventually managing to make her way back up the stairs, Singh said she remembered 'looking down the bar thinking, 'I can't go back down there' and I just left,' adding, 'I can't even remember getting home.'
Drink spiking is when someone puts alcohol or drugs into another person's drink without their permission, potentially leading to harmful effects. It is illegal in the U.K. and U.S., chargeable with a Class 4 felony which could lead to up to ten years in prison.
According to a poll carried out in December 2022, 10% of women and 5% of men in the U.K. reported that a drink of theirs had previously been spiked, with the majority of victims of all spiking offences being women at 74%, per Gov.uk.

While appearing on Good Morning Britain, Singh said she didn't report her spiking incident at the time. 'Weirdly, this was probably about 12/13 years ago, so it didn't occur to me to report it,' she said.
'But interestingly … my female producer [she] said that 'it also happened to me.' It's amazing how common it is,' added Singh.

Men accused of murder plot pictured at Glastonbury
Two men accused of murdering a prison officer in a "revenge plot" were pictured together at Glastonbury festival, a court has heard. Lenny Scott, 33, was shot six times with a handgun in the car park of a gym in Skelmersdale, Lancashire, on 8 February 2024. Elias Morgan, 35, and co-defendant Anthony Cleary, 29, who are both from the Edge Hill area of Liverpool, have denied Mr Scott's murder, while Mr Cleary also denies an alternative count of manslaughter. The prosecution allege his murder was an "act of retaliation" after Mr Scott seized a mobile phone from Mr Morgan's cell at HMP Altcourse in Liverpool in March 2020. Jurors at Preston Crown Court have heard a gunman, wearing a high-visibility jacket, approached Mr Scott outside the gym on Peel Road and shot him once in the head and five times in the body. The prosecution claim Mr Morgan, of Highgate Street, was the gunman and that he was supported by co-accused Mr Cleary, of Smithdown Lane, who allegedly left a van and electric bike for Mr Morgan near the scene. The jury has heard during the police investigation, officers found a number of pieces of evidence which shows the connection between the two men. One was a photograph recovered from Mr Cleary's mobile phone of the pair together at the Glastonbury festival together in June 2023. The photograph showed the pair among throngs of festivalgoers, Mr Morgan pictured with his arm around Mr Cleary. Later that year, on the 11 December, mobile phones used by Mr Morgan and Mr Cleary were using cell sites in southern Spain, the court heard. Also recorded in Spain on the same day was a Mercedes vehicle which was used by Mr Morgan, the court heard. The vehicle was driven back through Europe and into the UK, arriving back on 13 December by Mr Cleary, the court has heard. Mr Morgan flew back to the UK, taking a flight first to Ireland and then on into the UK, jurors were told. The trial continues. Bob Vylan Frontman Speaks Out After Band Is Dropped From Manchester Music Festival
The punk rap duo Bob Vylan have spoken out after it was reported that they had been dropped from a music festival in Manchester. Over the weekend, the band caused controversy when they led the crowd at their Glastonbury set in a chant of 'death to the IDF', in reference to Israel's army. After facing condemnation from UK prime minister Sir Keir Starmer, the BBC – which broadcast the set live and uncensored on its iPlayer service – and Glastonbury's organisers, it was revealed that a criminal investigation was underway following sets by both Bob Vylan and fellow performers Kneecap. On Wednesday, BBC News reported that, in the wake of the controversy, Bob Vylan had been dropped from the line-ups of Radar Festival in Manchester, and Kave Fest in France. Reacting to the news, frontman Bobby Vylan wrote on Instagram: 'Silence is not an option. We will be fine, the people of Palestine are hurting.' 'Manchester we will be back,' he then vowed. Bobby previously addressed the Glastonbury furore in an Instagram post captioned: 'I said what I said.' He and bandmate Bobbie Vylan then released a joint statement which read: 'We are not for the death of Jews, Arabs or any other race or group of people. We are for the dismantling of a violent military machine. A machine whose own soldiers were told to use 'unnecessary lethal force' against innocent civilians waiting for aid. A machine that has destroyed much of Gaza.' Referring to the activist group Palestine Action and fellow Glastonbury performers Kneecap, the duo continued: 'We, like those in the spotlight before us, are not the story. We are a distraction from the story. And whatever sanctions we receive will be a distraction. 'The government doesn't want us to ask why they remain silent in the face of this atrocity. To ask why they aren't doing more to stop the killing. To feed the starving. The more they talk about Bob Vylan, the less they spend answering for their criminal inaction. 'We are being targeted for speaking up. We are not the first. We will not be the last. And if you care for the sanctity of human life and freedom of speech, we urge you to speak up, too.' Avon and Somerset Police said on Tuesday: 'Video footage and audio from Bob Vylan and Kneecap's performances at Glastonbury Festival on Saturday has been reviewed. 'Following the completion of that assessment process we have decided further enquiries are required and a criminal investigation is now being undertaken. A senior detective has been appointed to lead this investigation.'
