Matt Pilmoor uploaded a snap showing him and his beloved Yorkshire-based mum sitting alongside each other.
His update on her condition came after she had been hospitalised for 120 days with a "rare" health issue doctors had struggled to diagnose.
Showing his hugely emotional state at the time of posting, Matt wrote: "As I sit here in floods of tears writing this post, mum went into her care home on Tuesday where she will be for the foreseeable future.
"Mum has only just got out of hospital after six months with early set dementia, hyper delirium, brain damage from mild nutrition.
"It's absolutely heart breaking and I can't quite get my head round it all.
"I have been there every single step of the way for my mum and dad but the time has come where they both need full time care."
In the lengthy post, 2023 MAFS star Matt added: "I'm navigating life now without my parents, it is so hard but I know it's something I will have to get used too. I am so incredible close to parents but more so my mum we have been joined at the hip my whole life, so this new stage I'm struggling to come to terms with.
"This picture was taken today, I know she looks very different but they are doing there best to bulk her up and try get more food down her.
"She's the most incredible woman and I will be there always for her.
"There is days where she will know me and other days she doesn't but today she did, She's said today, you will live one life for the two of us.

His co-star Peggy Rose was quick to offer support and put: "Oh Matt this breaks my heart it's difficult to know the right words to say but just know that I'm thinking of you and always know that I'm here for you and Shona."
Ella Morgan then added: "Sending my love. You're incredible Matt. Thank you for being so real and open and honest about the struggle and reality of caring. Always here for you."
Matt's mum is a familiar face to MAFS viewers after she appeared on the show two years ago.
Mafs couples that have stood the test of time
Loved-up Tayah Victoria and Adam Aveling of series six fame had the first Mafs baby.
The pair couldn't keep their hands off each other on the programme and quickly found their feet in the outside world, moving into Adam's Doncaster home.
Just 18 months after meeting, the couple welcomed their daughter Beau.
Season five couple Michelle Walder and Owen Jenkins also managed to make their marriage work away from the cameras and had their first child in December.
Teacher Michelle, 29, has no regrets about taking part in the experiment. She told us: 'I just feel very lucky and thankful that it has worked out - and excited for everything to come.'
Michelle and Owen were both sick of dating apps when they applied in 2019.
Owen recalled: 'I had been out for some drinks with a friend after work.
"While he was out for a cigarette I was scrolling on Instagram waiting for him to come back in.
'The MAFS advert was the last thing I saw, and I joked, 'Wouldn't it be funny if I signed up?'
'A few beers later when I was back at home I sent in the application, and the rest is history.'
Another couple to make Mafs UK history is Zoe Clifton and Jenna Robinson.
Despite a slight rocky start, where they clashed over Jenna's vegan lifestyle, the show's first same sex pairing are still going strong.
They even have a successful podcast together called Life With a Pod.
Jenna shed light on being involved in the show earlier this year when she told us: "We're not legally married, and I never felt like we were. I definitely feel the process makes you take the relationship a lot more seriously and having the help of the experts… if you can survive that process it sets a firm foundation for a long-lasting relationship."
At the time, she expressed her concern over the fact his then-partner Adrienne Naylor did not want kids.
Earlier this year, he told how it "breaks me" when his mum didn't recognise who he was.
On Mother's Day in March, he uploaded a special picture post tribute with the words: "Appreciate your mum and spend as much time with her as possible, because you don't know what's around the corner.'
MEETING ON MAFS
Shona and Matt have been going strong for over a year since their series of the E4 show in 2023 - even though they weren't paired together.
Shona left the show because of her unhealthy relationship with Brad Skelly – whose behaviour was deemed controlling and manipulative by charity Women's Aid.
But she found love afterwards with another star on the show - window cleaner Matt – who originally 'married' Adrienne Naylor.
In the reunion show aired earlier this year, the pair faced a fan backlash after scenes showed Matt "proposing" to Shona with a promise ring.

Chloe Ferry rekindles romance with ex Johnny Wilbo for the SIXTH time five months after dumping him

Chloe Ferry is reportedly back together with her ex Johnny Wilbo for the sixth time, five months after she dumped him over cheating accusations. The Geordie Shore alum, 29, is now rumoured to be rekindling her romance despite their bitter split in March. The Newcastle-born star has been seeing Johnny in 'secret meetings' according to insiders - although she is yet to 'go official' publicly again. A source told The Sun: 'Chloe and Johnny are secretly seeing each other. 'They're not officially back together but they have been hanging out a lot and meeting up without her family knowing. 'This has been going on for a while. They've been in regular contact since they split in March.' The telly source claimed Chloe - who dumped Johnny after discovering he was messaging other women - is seriously weighing up her decision to rekindle as they have 'good chemistry and struggle to stay away from each other'. Daily Mail has contacted Chloe's representatives for comment. I n March, the TV icon confirmed she had split from Johnny as she jetted off on a solo trip to Ibiza. The MTV sensation has been linked to Johnny since 2021 but they have had a tumultuous romance over the years. And despite appearing strong last year, Chloe put speculation over their relationship to rest as the star confirmed she was in the midst of a break up at the time. Taking to her Instagram Stories, the beauty shared a screenshot of a FaceTime call with her girl pal as they both pulled a crying face with a glass of wine. She captioned the snap: 'When you and your bestie are going for a break up at the same time.' In February it was reported that the pair had gone their separate ways after a source told The Sun that they have been telling their friends that they are 'done for good'. Chloe and Johnny's previous split happened in February 2024 but they were apart for just a month before they reunited again. Last year it was reported that Chloe and Johnny had split yet again after a string of arguments over money. They also previously ended their romance back in October 2022, when she accused him of messaging other women. Last year, sources claimed that Chloe and Johnny split for a fourth time, after he allegedly stayed at her mansion while not paying rent or helping with other bills. An insider said: 'Chloe and Johnny were having blazing rows about him living rent free in her mansion and not paying his way. 'She was paying for all the meals, takeouts, shopping and bills.' The insider went on to say that Johnny was 'not fussed' the relationship is over as he had been getting 'fed up of her constantly bossing him around' and making him do tasks that could have 'easily' been done herself as a 'power move'. But the insider added that while Chloe claimed this was the final split, pals were not so sure.

Man charged with killing an 'American Idol' exec and husband will undergo mental evaluation

A man charged with fatally shooting an 'American Idol' music supervisor and her husband in their Los Angeles home will undergo mental evaluation to determine whether he's fit to stand trial, a judge ruled Wednesday. Raymond Boodarian, 22, was set to be arraigned in a courthouse in Los Angeles but did not enter a plea. A judge suspended the criminal proceedings against him while a psychiatrist examines him to determine his competency. He's charged with two counts of murder in the killing of longtime 'American Idol' producer Robin Kaye and her husband Thomas Deluca, both 70, who were shot when they came home unexpectedly during a burglary on July 10. A judge at a court that specializes in mental health will consider the evaluation and decide whether Boodarian will proceed toward trial or be placed in a state hospital. Boodarian stood behind a window in a custody area of the courtroom, and appeared to try to remain out of sight. His attorney declined comment, and the district attorney's office had no immediate comment. Boodarian will undergo the same evaluation in the same small courthouse on Hollywood Boulevard where a man charged with stalking Jennifer Aniston and driving into the front gate of her home was recently found to be not competent to go to trial. Police said they responded to a 911 call about a burglary at the home of Kaye and Deluca in the Encino neighborhood of Los Angeles. Police said they found no sign of forced entry or other trouble and left. Four days later the couple's bodies were found, shot to death, when officers carried out a welfare check at the home. Boodarian was arrested the following day. District Attorney Nathan Hochman later said in a community meeting that investigators believe the couple arrived home unexpectedly while Boodarian was burglarizing it. He shot them with their own gun and later called 911 himself, Hochman said. Kaye had been with 'American Idol' for more than 15 years and was working on the upcoming season of the hit singing competition TV series at the time of her death. She had also worked in the music departments of several other productions, including 'The Singing Bee,' 'Hollywood Game Night,' 'Lip Sync Battle,' and several Miss USA and Miss Universe pageants.
