JBL Bar 9.1 Channel Soundbar System Costs Less Than Prime Day, Feels Like a Black Friday Steal

Turning a living room into a place where movies feel bigger and game nights sound alive usually means more than a TV's tiny speakers can manage. The JBL Bar 9.1 – Channel Soundbar System with Surround Speakers and Dolby Atmos is built for that jump. It brings real surround sound into the room, fills out the low end, and adds overhead effects that make rain feel like it is falling around you. If your shows and sports have been sounding a little flat, this system is a major step up without turning your space into a maze of gear.
Head over to Amazon to get the JBL Bar 9.1 – Channel Soundbar System with Surround Speakers and Dolby Atmos for just $700, down from its usual price of $1,200. That's a discount of $500 and 42% off.

Setup is refreshingly simple. Slide the soundbar under the TV, place the wireless subwoofer by a wall, and set the two rear speakers behind the couch. The rears are battery powered and detach from the main bar, so you can pop them on a shelf for movie night and dock them to charge when you are done. No wires across the floor is a win for families, pets, and tidy living rooms.
Once everything is in place, the sound shifts from 'coming from the TV' to 'coming from the room.' Dialog gets the clear center it needs, and effects spread wide so action scenes feel active. Dolby Atmos support adds height to the mix. Helicopters seem to pass overhead, stadium noise rolls in from all sides, and quiet details stay easy to hear at normal volume. The subwoofer brings punch without boom, so drum hits and thunder land with a satisfying thump that does not drown out voices.
Everyday use is friendly. A quick calibration listens to your room and dials in the balance in a minute. HDMI eARC keeps setup to a single cable for most modern TVs, and the bar automatically switches inputs when you turn on a game console or streaming box. For music, you can send playlists straight from a phone with Bluetooth, or use built in casting to play from favorite apps without extra steps. The remote is straightforward, and basic controls on the bar handle volume and source when the clicker goes missing.
If you have been waiting to upgrade from thin TV audio to theater style sound without a complicated receiver, this package hits the sweet spot for simplicity and impact. The JBL Bar 9.1 – Channel Soundbar System with Surround Speakers and Dolby Atmos is still available for $700 at Amazon, a strong savings compared with its regular $1,200 price.

Gina Carano settles legal dispute with Lucasfilm and Disney

Gina Carano has reached a legal settlement over her firing from The Mandalorian. The 43-year-old actress was fired from the hit TV series back in 2021, following a series of controversial posts on social media, but Lucasfilm and the Walt Disney Company have now confirmed that they've reached a settlement agreement with Gina. In a statement given to Variety, a spokesperson said: "The Walt Disney Company and Lucasfilm are pleased to announce that we have reached an agreement with Gina Carano to resolve the issues in her pending lawsuit against the companies. "Ms. Carano was always well respected by her directors, co-stars, and staff, and she worked hard to perfect her craft while treating her colleagues with kindness and respect. With this lawsuit concluded, we look forward to identifying opportunities to work together with Ms. Carano in the near future." Gina previously hit out at Disney on social media, accusing the media giant of trying to "control" what their employees say in public. The actress wrote on X: "Disney has confirmed what has been known all along, they will fire you if you say anything they disagree with, even if they have to MISREPRESENT, MALIGN, and MISCHARACTERIZE you to do it. They are now on record letting everyone who works for them know that Disney will take any chance they get to control what you say, what you think or they will attempt to destroy your career. Glad we cleared that up. The First Amendment does not allow Disney to wantonly DISCRIMINATE, which is what they have done in my case and frankly have now admitted they did. If you ever wanted to know what today's 'Disney values' are, they just told you. (sic)" Gina has yet to release a statement in response to the legal settlement. However, she seemingly referred to the settlement agreement in a recent social media post. The actress - who was cast in The Mandalorian back in 2018 - wrote on X on Thursday (07.08.25): "… and the truth shall set you free."
