Notre Dame betting outlook - How much fight will the Irish have?

Yahoo Sports' Jason Fitz and senior sports betting analyst Ben Fawkes discuss how sportsbooks are viewing the Fighting Irish entering the 2025 season. View more Video Transcript The college football season is here, which means Notre Dame fans are already panicking. Cause all they can think about is losing the national championship game to Ohio State. Sorry, Notre Dame fans. All right, Ben, how's Vegas see the fighting Irish? Fighting Irish, uh, off of that college football playoff title game loss, still a lot of respect from Vegas oddsmakers, one of 4 teams with a win total of 10.5. The other 3 are in the Big Ten. Obviously, Notre Dame as an independent. No odds to win their conference, but 12 to 1 odds to win the national championship at Be Mjam, the eighth best among all teams. It's hard to ask this question because I'm gonna ask you for key games. And this is where Notre Dame fans roll their eyes because they know a tradition like no others, Marcus Freeman losing to somebody, they shouldn't lose to. Every year, but what is the key game that uh Vegas has their eye on for Notre Dame? Yeah, I mean, the opening game, right? They, they go to Miami, we always see this in the NFL as well, right? Early season games in Florida can be that humidity, can be a little tricky. They're a 2.5 point road favorite right now at Miami in week one. And then I believe week 3, they got Texas A&M, but it's a little interesting. They they're gonna be projected to be at least a touchdown favorite against Texas A&M at Arkansas. Boise State, I believe they're a 16-17 point favorite, and against USC and they close out against Stanford, which has a win total of 3.5, heavily juiced to the under. So if there, if there's a nice, uh, pillow landing there for the, uh, for the Fighting Irish, that's certainly it. So this is, you know, those are two really big games, Miami game and a Texas A&M. But to clear 10.5, they just have to have one loss, right? So as long as they only lose one game, they'll cash that over. This is always the trick for Notre Dame. I mean, new quarterback, obviously high expectations, but as we know, that schedule doesn't necessarily give them the grace to have any screwups along the way. So it'll be another angst-packed year for Fighting Irish fans everywhere. Close

Jenna Ortega Puts a Surreal Spin on Gothic Fashion in This Acid-Green Top

"Hearst Magazines and Yahoo may earn commission or revenue on some items through these links." Jenna Ortega may have an unshakable devotion to the dark side of the color wheel, but every so often, the actor likes to flirt—just slightly—with something a little brighter. Her latest sartorial experiment was in Seoul, South Korea, where the Wednesday star stepped out in Simone Rocha for a press conference about the Netflix show's second season. At the event, Ortega wove an unexpected green scheme into her Gothic repertoire. Styled by Enrique Melendez, she donned a look from Rocha's spring 2025 ready-to-wear collection, created in collaboration with Irish painter Genieve Figgis. Her long-sleeve green bodysuit is framed with a rounded neckline. It has a haunting Figgis artwork at the center of a ghoulish figure, teeth bared in shades of acid green. The loud top was grounded with a black tweed-and-tulle tiered skirt. She topped off her ensemble with a pair of sleek Mary Jane pumps and black opaque tights that brought a touch of vintage schoolgirl charm. Minimalist accessories, such as a slim choker and delicate silver rings, gave the outfit an extra layer of dimension. Hair stylist Cesar Deleon Ramirez channeled Y2K punk for the actor's updo in typical Wednesday Addams fashion. Of course, Ortega's bleached brows added another layer of angsty edge, with makeup artist Mélanie Inglessis balancing the drama with a smoky eye shadow and a muted lip. Ortega has been on quite the fashion run as of late while promoting her Netflix series. Most recently, she stepped onto the carpet at the Paris Theater in New York City wearing a jet-black gothic gown from the Ann Demeulemeester Fall 2025 collection. Prior to that, Ortega paraded around the city in a dramatic oversized blazer and skirt combo from Willy Chavarria.
