Dean, feeling hurt and rejected by Mairead, reconnected with Ger.
However, it didn't take long for Dean to realise he still has feelings for Mairead and couldn't continue with Ger.
Tonight Mairead was unsettled by Damien's request that she gave a sympathetic statement to the judge on behalf of Mark.
Upset, she considered reaching out to Dean for comfort but stopped herself.

Damien continued to prioritise Elaine's feelings, leaving Mairead feeling sidelined.
Renee informed Mairead —incorrectly— that Dean had moved on with Ger, making Mairead feel even more emotionally conflicted.
RTE viewers were on Mairead's side in the argument and think she will move onto Dean.
Sylvia said: "
Mairead is moving into the van #faircity

Ciara wrote: "Sling your hook Damo."
Sinead tweeted: "With all due respect Damo, your brother killed, buried and lied about the murder of your sister. Then brought a gun to the memorial and shot your wife. Jail seems appropriate don't you think."
A look at tonight's episode of Fair City
Pamela remarked: "Damo will be gone for the night, Dean will be round quick as a flash."
Elsewhere, Ray struggled with guilt over purchasing faulty electric vehicles, while the others wrongly blamed Pete.
Despite opportunities, Ray repeatedly failed to admit the truth.
Doug encouraged him to come clean, but Pete shouldered the blame to de-escalate tensions and to avoid Ray finding out any more about his and Doug's past dodgy deals.
JAMES AND GER
Eventually Ray confessed, but the damage to Pete's reputation remained, which led Pete to resign from the garage.
Meanwhile, Ger continued pushing to secure the rental unit in The Marketplace.
James tried to handle the pressure of Ger's persistence and the debt hanging over him.
With Ger needing to move inventory fast, James tried to use her urgency to his advantage.
After rejecting James' rental offer, Ger outmanoeuvred him by leveraging his loan shark threat and negotiating control of the unit on her own terms.
Ger won her battle with James and began preparing for her business launch.
Emma and Ger decided to work together and hatch a plan to get Renee to back down from her book club choice.

Tipp legend hailed as 'some craic' as RTE kickstart build-up to hurling final

Tipperary hurling legend Joe Hayes has earned rave reviews for his showing on RTE's Up for the match this evening. The Premier County icon appeared alongside Cork hero Tomas Mulcahy in the early stages of tonight's program which begins the build-up to the All-Ireland hurling final that will be contested by the two sides. Hayes was in great form as he bantered with Mulcahy about their battles down through the years, and when Mulcahy mentioned Hayes' new set of teeth which he got 'from Turkey', Hayes responded by saying those Cork teams of yester-years had plenty of unofficial orthodontists who charged nothing for a spot of on the field dental work. The Tipp legend's appearance went down a storm with fans, who flocked to social media platform X to sing the praises of Hayes: "Joe Hayes is one gas man. Absolute beaut of a character! Up Cork tho, Joe," wrote one Rebel supporter. "My God,wouldn't you love to have a pint or two with Joe Hayes," posted another fan. "Joe Hayes is some craic," said another user, while Tipperary fan Shane Brophy reckons Hayes' fine form is a good omen of things to come on Sunday: "If we start tomorrow like Joe Hayes has started be in business." "As if Joe Hayes couldn't be any cooler he's repping a Dillon Quirke foundation jersey. Legend," wrote another fan. The jersey in question was a special Tipperary top with the Dillon Quirke foundation logo on the centre of the jersey. The foundation was set up in Quirke's name after the young Tipperary hurler passed away during a match with his club in 2022 due to Sudden Adult Death Syndrome. Between its inception and the end of 2024, the foundation had provided over 10,000 heart screening tests for people.
