Edgemont's Earth Day event brightens Dayton Urban Farm

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Edgemont celebrated Earth Day by hosting 'Operation Clean & Cultivate Community' at the Dayton Urban Community Farm on Tuesday.
The event was held from noon to 4 p.m. at 933 Xenia Avenue. Volunteers were invited to launch a powerful community resource, the newest urban framing site. They aimed to cultivate the land and purpose within the Edgemont community.
They were encouraged to wear comfy clothes, bring gloves and stay hydrated while gardening.
The farm has an online produce selection and offers in-person shopping at the 2nd Street Market on Saturdays at 9 a.m.

Folly Beach city leaders could adopt Transportation Safety Action Plan

FOLLY BEACH, S.C. (WCBD) – Folly Beach city councilmembers will discuss Tuesday a resolution to adopt a Transportation Safety Action Plan. The goal of the action plan is to enhance road safety by increasing enforcement at specific locations. Between 2017 and 2023, Folly Beach saw an average of 85 crashes annually. According to data, 73% of all pedestrian and bicycle crashes occurred between June and August. Folly Beach city leaders hope to reduce speeding and provide accommodations for cyclists, pedestrians, and vehicles.
