Bucs mock draft roundup: Expert picks for 2025 NFL draft
We are just over 24 hours away from the 2025 NFL Draft, and there is no better time to look at what the draft experts around the NFL world are saying. We have compiled a total of ten mock drafts that have been published in the past few days, and we are going to give you their picks for the team. There will also be links to the mocks in case you want to see picks for other teams, perhaps division rivals, or so on.
Getting back to the point, the Bucs are one of the more interesting teams to pick for in mock drafts. The results from these reflect that in a fun way, and should have you anxious for Thursday's first round.
Here are the results of the data we gathered.
Peter Schrager, ESPN
Selection: Tetairoa McMillan, WR, Arizona
"The all-world athlete would be the perfect addition to a wide receiver room with a mix of veterans and young players. The Bucs love Mike Evans and Chris Godwin, and Jalen McMillan is coming off a solid rookie year. McMillan would be the perfect student for the veterans to teach."
Ari Meirov, 33rd Team
Selection: Mykel Williams, Edge, Georgia
Thor Nystrom, Fantasy Life
Selection: Jihaad Campbell, LB, Alabama
Christian Williams, Devy Royale
Selection: Jihaad Campbell, LB, Alabama
"The medicals will have to clear, but Campbell is one of the ten best players in the class. He's been linked to the Bucs for the entire offseason, and the potential to add Campbell alongside Lavonte David would give their defense enough talent to compete for the division title again."
Bucky Brooks, NFL Media
Selection: Jihaad Campbell, LB, Alabama
"Lavonte David is back for Year 14 -- but Todd Bowles could pick the 35-year-old linebacker's successor here. Presuming his recovery from a torn labrum goes smoothly, Campbell's versatility would give the Buccaneers a second-level defender with playmaking and pass-rush potential."
Kyle Crabs, 33rd Team
Selection: Donovan Ezeiruaku, Edge, Boston College
"The Bucs are a team that feels likely to go shopping for head coach Todd Bowles. Will it be a linebacker like Jihaad Campbell? Could it be a defensive back to add long-term? Right now, Ezeiruaku feels like a nice pairing who could help juice the Bucs' organic pass rush."
Cris Collinsworth, PFF
Selection: Malaki Starks, SAF, Georgia
'He played a lot in the slot, kind of like that Brian Branch type of role. I thought his best work was close to the line of scrimmage, and that's why I wouldn't take him inside the top-10.'
Dane Brugler, The Athletic
Selection: Jihaad Campbell, LB, Alabama
"Lavonte David is back at age 35 for a reason — he is still playing at a high level. But this would also be a great opportunity for the veteran to help Campbell get introduced to NFL life. The Buccaneers are going to have a defense-heavy draft, especially in the early rounds."
Chad Reuter, NFL Media
Selection: Projected trade with Packers to 23 to draft Shemar Stewart, Edge, Texas A&M
"The Buccaneers could use Stewart as a 5-technique because of his size and strength at the point of attack, potentially setting him up to replace Logan Hall if the veteran departs as a free agent in 2026. Stewart will also stand up at times because of his athleticism, making him a great fit in Tampa Bay's scheme."
Travis May, AtoZ Sports
Selection: Mike Green, Edge, Marshall
"Tampa Bay Buccaneers need to step up the pressure off the edge. They had zero edge rushers with more than just six sacks a year ago. Mike Green tallied 17 sacks last fall and fits the archetypal style of defensive end that the Buccaneers need."

Christian McCaffrey shines in 49ers camp after injury-filled season
SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) — In a training camp that has seemed to feature a new injury almost every day for the San Francisco 49ers, the one positive on the injury front has been the health of Christian McCaffrey. After missing almost all of last season with injuries to his Achilles tendon and knee, McCaffrey has been one of the few running backs or receivers to make it through the first five weeks of practice without an injury. While he has gotten some scheduled rest days, McCaffrey has been a near constant on the field and once again looks like the player who transformed the 49ers offense after arriving in a midseason trade in 2022. 'You all have eyes like I do, Christian looks fantastic,' star left tackle Trent Williams said Thursday. 'He looks like Offense Player of the Year Christian. So that's really, really refreshing to see, knowing what he had to deal with last year, just the little nicks and knacks and not being able to do what he loves. To see him out there this year 100% healthy, treating every play like it's his last, playing with his hair on fire. It really motivates the guys when you got a generational talent that brings it to work and to practice every day.' It's a far cry from last season when McCaffrey injured his Achilles tendon early in training camp and missed the first eight games of the season. He rushed for just 202 yards on 50 carries in four games before going down with a season-ending knee injury as he was unable to match his sensational 2023 season. McCaffrey won the AP Offensive Player of the Year that season after leading the NFL with 2,023 yards from scrimmage and tying for the league lead with 21 touchdowns. McCaffrey had missed just one game combined in 2022-23 — a meaningless Week 18 game in the 2023 season for San Francisco when he had a sore calf — after missing 23 games because of injuries in his final two full seasons with Carolina. Coach Kyle Shanahan joked last week that McCaffrey had hit 25 mph on his GPS readings in practice. But no matter what speed McCaffrey has reached, he is looking much healthier than he did a year ago when he missed almost all of training camp. 'Obviously physically he looks great, getting in and out of cuts, running hard. Back to the McCaffrey that we all know,' quarterback Brock Purdy said. 'And then mentally he's just, he's on one, like he's ready to get after it with the season and obviously from beginning to end, like play a whole season and go hard. That's who he is. He keeps telling all of us in the locker room, he's like, 'Dude, I can't wait. I can't wait.'' Roster moves Receiver Skyy Moore passed a physical, completing a trade that sent him to San Francisco from Kansas City. The Niners sent a sixth-round pick in 2027 to the Chiefs for Moore and a 2027 seventh-rounder. Moore gives San Francisco a healthy body at receiver with so many other players hurt or facing a suspension to start the season such as Demarcus Robinson. General manager John Lynch said on his radio show on flagship station KNBR on Thursday that Russell Gage was the latest Niners receiver to get hurt with a knee injury that will likely sideline him for a week or two. San Francisco already is dealing with injuries at receiver to Brandon Aiyuk, Jauan Jennings, Jacob Cowing and Jordan Watkins. Moore was drafted by Kansas City in the second round in 2022 but hasn't produced much in his first three seasons. He had 43 catches for 494 yards and one TD in 36 games. He didn't catch a single pass last season because of a core muscle injury. The Niners also made a swap at backup quarterback with the team re-signing Tanner Mordecai after cutting him earlier this month and releasing Nate Sudfeld after two practices. Mordecai should get time in the exhibition finale on Saturday against the Chargers. Cornerback Tre Brown was placed on injured reserve, ending his season. Brown was signed in March to be in the mix at either slot or outside cornerback after spending four seasons with Seattle. But he fell down the depth chart early in camp and now is shut down with an undisclosed injury. ___ AP NFL:

Jets offense will lean hard into its obvious — and violent — strengths
Take flight with the Jets Text with Brian Costello all season as he brings Sports+ subscribers the latest Jets intel from on the field and off. tRY IT NOW There's been a recurring theme emanating from Aaron Glenn's first Jets training camp as a head coach. Let's get physical. Physicality, of course, is required of any team that's going to be successful in the NFL. The question is this: Will the Aaron Glenn Jets differentiate themselves as the more physical team on game days? Friday night's preseason finale at MetLife Stadium against the Super Bowl champion Eagles, even though most of the starters are not expected to play for either team, will be the Jets' last chance to display that physicality before the real games begin in two weeks.

Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. The New England Patriots will take on the New York Giants in week 3 of the NFL preseason on Thursday at MetLife Stadium. Patriots vs Giants - NFL Preseason Week 3 Patriots vs Giants - NFL Preseason Week 3 Coley Cleary How to Watch Patriots vs Giants Date: Thursday, August 21, 2025 Time: 8:00 PM ET Channel: NBC (WNBCDT – New York, NY), Patriots Preseason Network Stream: Fubo (try for free) Russell Wilson has displayed during Training Camp that he can still throw a pretty deep ball, and his new target, Malik Nabers, is ready to show the world what he can do with improved quarterback play. Nabers showed the type of talent he possesses during his rookie season, but despite his high usage, the end-of-season numbers were not what they could have been. If Wilson can consistently deliver him the ball this season, Nabers should be one of the biggest breakout players in the league, and establish himself amongst the elite pass catchers. New England is banking on a Mike Vrabel-Josh McDaniels-led system as the answer this season. The Patriots have some promising young offensive players in Drake Maye and rookie running back TreVeyon Henderson, and they also made a bet on Stefon Diggs this offseason, in the hope that he can still be a top option as a pass catcher. This is a great NFL matchup that you will not want to miss; make sure to tune in and catch all the action. This is not a nationally broadcast game, but it can still be live-streamed locally on Fubo through NBC (WNBCDT – New York, NY). It will be aired via tape delay later on NFL Network.
