Matildas superstar Katrina Gorry and Clara Markstedt are set to get married in just 10 days' time and ahead of their big day, the footballers have both taken up a new sporting challenge.
The couple swapped their footy boots out for their running trainers to complete the Brisbane Half Marathon last Sunday.
Gorry, 32, lifted the lid on what it was like to compete in the event with her partner, Markstedt, 35, admitting she hadn't participated in many running events previously.
'My experience was absolutely incredible,' the Australian star said to Brisbane Half Marathon's organisers.
'It's probably up there with one of the coolest things we've done.
'We're both footballers and hadn't done much running training beforehand, but running alongside so many people was honestly exhilarating.

'The atmosphere was amazing, and crossing the finish line together was such a special moment for us.'
The West Ham United star revealed the exciting news in May that she and her Sweedish partner, Markstedt, would be getting wed on June 15.
Gorry and Markstedt took to Instagram to share several posts from their hen party last month.
The pair looked smitten as they donned colourful wigs and sashes that read: 'Bride to be'.
The Australian, who has been capped 114 times by the Matildas, captioned the post: 'The perfect Hux. 20 days until I get to call you my wife.'
The pair revealed they got engaged ahead of the 2023 Women's World Cup, with Markstedt dropping to one knee to pop the question.
The Sweedish forward enjoyed a glittering career which spanned for 13 years.
She began her career with Stockholm-based side AIK, but would spend the majority of her career with Vittsjo GK, ultimately hanging up her boots in 2023.
Speaking to ABC Radio Canberra this week, Gorry (pictured, left with Markstedt) spoke about the launch of her new book and hailed her mum for all the sacrifices she had made over the years helping her with her daughter and her footballing career
Gorry and Marskstedt announced the birth of their son Koby in 2024, with their daughter Harper becoming a big sister.
Earlier this week, Gorry, spoke out on the Matildas victory against Argentina on Monday.
'Super proud of the girls and I think a 4-1 win is always good for us,' she told ABC Radio Canberra.
'For Amy [Sayer] to come on and score two goals after such a long time out of the game is a pretty special night for us to celebrate.'
Gorry, who has also released a new book, entitled 'Katrina Gorry: A Matildas Hero's Story of Footbal l, Motherhood and Breaking Down Barriers', paid tribute to her mum during the interview.
'I think writing the book it was a really nice way to reflect on the journey that I have had and also the sacrifices my family have made.
'Definitely my mum. I couldn't have done the last few years without her. To say: "Yes I'll come with you wherever you need to go to help with Harper."

Andy Farrell makes two alterations to an otherwise unchanged Lions starting XV for the third Test against Australia as tourists go in search of whitewash

Blair Kinghorn and James Ryan have been promoted into an otherwise unchanged Lions starting XV for the third Test against Australia here at Accor Stadium on Saturday. Head coach Andy Farrell has opted to retain the vast majority of those players who started at the Melbourne Cricket Ground last Saturday, as the British and Irish tourists edged out the Wallabies 29-26 to win the series with one match to go. There was speculation that Farrell may choose to freshen-up his side or offer chances to other players who have had limited roles in the Tests, but instead he has put his faith in most of the same men to go again, in the quest for a 3-0 whitewash. That was always the ambition for this 2025 crusade; for the Lions to earn a series clean sweep and to win every match they played Down Under. Now that they are within reach of that objective, Farrell has shown his laser focus on completing the quest by demonstrating utter ruthlessness as a selector. He has not been swayed by sentiment; this is a statement that the Lions are back in business mode – after their protracted celebrations – and are going for the jugular. Just two starting changes is a very modest reshuffle in the circumstances. Kinghorn plays full-back for Scotland but he has been picked on the left wing for this game, having often operated there for Toulouse. He is a supreme asset as a runner, commanding aerial presence, kicker and distributor, and after a glittering cameo last weekend he is deservedly included at the expense of James Lowe, who has been a shadow of his normal self on this trip. The other alteration is in the second row, with Ryan preferred to England's Ollie Chessum, to partner captain Maro Itoje. The Leinster lock had not been a stand-out figure in the tour matches leading up to the series, but he was another who made a positive impact off the bench at the MCG and he is among the Irish stalwarts well known and trusted by Farrell. Ryan's provincial and Test team-mate, Joe McCarthy, is not in the match-day 23, which suggests he has not recovered from a foot injury. Chessum is among the replacements this time but instead of an outside back filling the void left by Kinghorn's elevation, Farrell has opted for a six-two bench split. Ben Earl will act as additional back-row cover but also has the ability, at a push, to be deployed in midfield, in an emergency. Owen Farrell will once again be primed to come on at 10 or inside centre, as required. Lions third Test squad H Keenan (Ire); T Freeman (Eng), H Jones (Sco), B Aki (Ire), B Kinghorn (Sco); F Russell (Sco), J Gibson-Park (Ire); A Porter (Ire), D Sheehan (Ire), T Furlong (Ire); M Itoje (Eng. capt), J Ryan (Ire); T Beirne (Ire), J Conan (Ire), T Curry (Eng). Replacements: R Kelleher (Ire), E Genge (Eng), W Stuart (Eng), O Chessum (Eng), J Morgan (Wal), B Earl (Eng), A Mitchell (Eng), O Farrell (Eng). His father set the scene for the final act in Australia, saying: 'We've put ourselves in a great position to finish this tour with our best performance to date and create our own piece of history. 'Last weekend's Test in Melbourne was an incredible spectacle and illustrated how special Lions tours are and what they mean to both the players and the supporters. 'We are expecting another epic battle this weekend against a Wallaby side that showed their quality last week.'

Emma McKeon and other Aussie olympic greats left in angry silence

Emma McKeon was among the Aussie Olympic legends who were left visibly dismayed by a speech by Federal Opposition Leader Sussan Ley. The athletes had gathered at Parliament House in Canberra to see 121 members of Australia's 1980 Olympic team finally get formally welcomed home. They were denied such a welcome after they defied calls to boycott the Moscow Games due to the Soviet Union's invasion of Afghanistan. While Anthony Albanese's speech praising the team was warmly received, Ley's effort appeared to have the opposite effect. Though she acknowledged the athletes in the chamber and said they should not have been subject to personal attacks, she also gave credit to those who abided by the boycott including sprinter Raelene Boyle and swimmer Tracey Wickham. 'For many Afghan Australians who emigrated here and are now part of our Australian family ... this boycott mattered,' she told the House of Representatives. 'The decision made by Prime Minister Malcolm Fraser to support the US-led boycott was the right one - and history has judged it so. That decision - correct as it was - takes nothing away from the Australians who did compete.' The Olympians sitting in the public gallery greeted her words with stony faces, with some gasping during parts of the address. None applauded at its conclusion, and many of the team members told News Corp they were 'furious' over Ley's 'tone-deaf' remarks and accused her of politicising the event. Ron McKeon, the father of retired swimming superstar and Australia's most decorated Olympian, Emma, was one of the 1980 competitors. Emma said she had been inspired by her dad, also a swimmer, and wanted to attend Thursday's ceremony to belatedly honour his Olympic participation. 'Dad coached me growing up but never really spoke much about his Olympic experiences,' Emma McKeon said. 'I couldn't imagine going through that - not having the ongoing support of the country - it would have been a huge struggle. I'm so proud of him.' The boycott was the largest in Olympic history, with 45 countries pulling out of the Games as part of the long-running Cold War, leaving just 80 to compete. Though many countries, including the United States, Japan and West Germany took part in a full boycott, Australia supported the boycott in principle but allowed athletes to make up their own mind on whether to participate. Many of the young sports stars were angry at copping backlash for defying the government's stance, even while the then Liberal government continued to trade with the Soviet Union. After most Olympic Games, Australia has celebrated its triumphs and welcomed its athletes back with open arms. Albanese acknowledged their participation and their pain in his speech. 'When you choose to wear the green and gold, you should draw strength from knowing that the whole nation is with you,' he told parliament. 'Yet the returning athletes were met only by cold silence or cruel comments. Today, we fix that... you have earned your place in the history of the game and our nation.' Decathlete Peter Hadfield was subjected to death threats and being spat on after he chose to compete in Moscow. He had previously won the Australian championship in 1976 but was not selected for that year's Olympics in Montreal. 'When the boycott was called in 1980, it looked like I was going to miss out on my second Olympics in a row,' he said. 'I was offered a bribe of almost my entire yearly salary not to go. There was death threats, we were called 'traitors' in the media, family members were spat on.'

Footy presenter who claims she's 'too sexy for TV' makes stunning accusations against broadcaster about end-of-year work party

Former NRL TV presenter Tiffany Salmond has accused Fox Sports of leaking false stories about her - including one claiming she gatecrashed a work party the pay TV giant held last year. Salmond has been vocal about her inability to find TV work since being dumped from her role reporting on New Zealand NRL games for Fox Sports, RNZ and Sky. She recently claimed she's been unsuccessful in her job search partly because rugby league TV journalism is a 'boys' club' in which 'the men are allowed to be edgy, loud, have huge personalities and take up space but women have to toe the line of being attractive, but not too sexy'. On Thursday, Salmond took to Instagram to air her allegations against Fox. 'I've now been told Fox are allegedly trying to leak false stories to journalists about me,' she wrote. 'Apparently one of the stories they're pushing is that I gatecrashed a work party they held at a hotel last year. The former footy sideline eye claims one of the alleged stories is about her gatecrashing Fox's end-of-year work party in 2024 'Even though I'd already booked to stay at that hotel two months earlier - well before they'd even picked the venue. 'Imagine thinking I booked a literal hotel just to gatecrash an end of year work party for two free glasses of champagne. 'If anything, I wish I hadn't bumped into them in the lobby either.' Daily Mail Australia has contacted Foxtel for comment. Salmond has also recently spoken out about the scandal over her late-night phone call to Fox Sports reporter Jake Duke, who was dumped by his Channel Seven star girlfriend Grace Fitzgibbon when the Daily Mail exclusively broke the story. She accused Duke of misleading her about his relationship status shortly before the call took place. A source close to the couple told Daily Mail Australia the call came to Duke, 30, 'in the wee hours', prompting a 'devastated and heartbroken' Fitzgibbon, 32, to end the three-year-long relationship and leave the couple's apartment in Freshwater, on Sydney's northern beaches. 'The phone call situation that was reported wasn't the reason I was removed. But once I started gaining visibility and attention, it felt like that moment became an easy narrative to use against me – despite senior staff being completely unfazed by it when it happened,' Salmond told the Sydney Morning Herald. 'I want to make it very clear: it was an innocent phone call I made all the way from New Zealand, to a colleague I considered a friend. 'He had also made it very clear to me that he was single, so I saw no issue in calling him for a chat while I was on my way home from a night out. 'Unfortunately, I had obviously been misled, and I copped the backlash publicly for something I was a victim in, too. 'I was left to carry the full weight of the fallout alone.' Daily Mail Australia does not suggest Duke was misleading Salmond, only that Salmond has made the accusation. Jake Duke has been contacted for comment. Salmond has repeatedly posted comments from footy fans who want to see her return to the screen, and has accused broadcasters of failing to give her a fair go despite what she sees as her highly successful time on screen.
