Canucks at Stars picks and predictions
Prediction
Stars 5, Canucks 3
PASS: Looking to the puck line for the best value on this one.
Dallas is 18-7-1 at home. The Stars are back on home ice after back-to-back road games; after 5 previous multi-game trips, they returned home with 4 wins (4-1-0).
When playing on 2-days of rest, Dallas is 6-1-0, scoring 4.14 goals per game against 2.86. The Stars are underperforming recent 5-on-5 expected-goals numbers. They own a 30.4% power play since Jan. 14 and are facing a Vancouver club that has logged more-than 15 penalty minutes per game since Jan. 16.
If Demko gets the call for the Canucks, he's been prone to some clunkers. The probability for some cushion here is worth a STARS -1.5 (+145) play.
Dallas owns some expected-goal numbers that indicate more lamps being lit in 5-on-5 play and at both ends. With the Stars' nice offensive numbers on 2-day rest and with some fade lean on Demko, BACK THE OVER 5.5 (-110).

Oklahoma Sooners earn commitment from 2026 blue chip offensive lineman
Oklahoma Sooners earn commitment from 2026 blue chip offensive lineman The Oklahoma Sooners added their ninth pledge in the 2026 recruiting class on Monday, picking up a commitment from four-star offensive lineman Noah Best. Best is the No. 15 interior offensive lineman in the class according to Rivals and is also a four-star prospect in the 247Sports Composite and On3 Industry ranking. Best marks the second offensive line commitment in the class, joining Will Conroy, another interior offensive line prospect in 2026. Best chose the Sooners over offers from Missouri and Kansas State and had a total of 24 Power Four offers across the SEC, Big Ten, ACC, and Big 12. It's a big win for Bill Bedenbaugh and the Oklahoma Sooners, who add another physical interior offensive lineman of the future. Best is a force at the point of attack and imposes his will on defenders. He moves really well in space, displaying the athleticism to pull across the formation and climb to the second level in the run game. As a pass protector, Best displays really good footwork. He doesn't allow defenders to beat him around the edge. He's a strong player. Once he gets his hands on the rusher, they don't go anywhere. Although he projects as a guard at the collegiate level, his experience and the talent he has shown at offensive tackle will provide Best the position flexibility to make an impact at multiple spots along the offensive line. Cowboys' George Pickens Trade 'Worth The Risk'
Cowboys' George Pickens Trade 'Worth The Risk' originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Dallas Cowboys needed an "explosive" No. 2 receiver opposite CeeDee Lamb, and the franchise's answer was trading for Pittsburgh Steelers' George Pickens. Advertisement The move for George was met with what we think was an odd reaction. Some were lauding it, given that the Cowboys showed they want to get better, yet others were shaking their head at the move due to his on-and-off-field incidents, despite those same people urging Dallas to make a trade. Now that the dust has settled and George has done nothing but positive things at OTAs both on and off the field, Bleacher Report has ranked what it thinks are 25 of the best moves this offseason, with Dallas' trade for Pickens landing at No. 11. "The Dallas Cowboys head into every season with Texas-sized aspirations, but the team also had a 10-gallon hole at wide receiver opposite CeeDee Lamb," Bleacher Report writes. "George Pickens had an up-and-down three years in Pittsburgh, but Pickens never had less than 800 receiving yards in a season and the potential to be an excellent No. 2 receiver in Dallas. For a Day 2 pick in 2026 (plus a pick swap), Pickens is more than worth the 'risk.' George Pickens At AttBy Tony Fisher Given how productive Pickens was as the lone hand in the Steelers' offense, which had below-par quarterback play for much of his time there, he now has Dak Prescott. Advertisement Not only that, he has a teammate in Lamb who, despite Pickens' talent, should command the defense's attention. Hello, one-on-ones for George. If things pan out the way Dallas and Pickens hope in 2025, and he plays a key role in the franchise getting back to the playoffs with, say, 800-ish yards and a handful of touchdowns, we might look back on his trade this offseason as one of the best ones a team has made. Yes, it might be wishful thinking, but such is George's talent, and there is every chance it eventuates.
