A man has been shot in the buttock in a drive-by shooting, police have said.
Officers were called to Fountains Road in Walton, Liverpool, just after 21:00 GMT on Friday but the victim had already left the scene and attended hospital.
Officers said they believed the driver of a car had pulled up alongside him before a passenger in the back of the car opened a door and fired a gun.
The victim's injuries were not life-threatening, Merseyside Police said.
The force has appealed for help in identifying the driver and two passengers in a dark car used in the attack.
Det Insp Mike Fletcher added: "Any information provided will be acted upon. Help us to put the person responsible for firing the gun where he belongs - behind bars."
He said more officers would be on patrol "to reassure the local community", while investigators carry out forensic examinations and house-to-house inquiries.

Local woman trying to recover mom's Facebook account after stranger memorializes it

A Facebook account full of family memories was memorialized by a stranger without the family's knowledge. Now, a woman is fighting for access to her mom's account. [DOWNLOAD: Free WHIO-TV News app for alerts as news breaks] News Center 7's Taylor Robertson meets with Hannah Couch and learns about how much this profile means to her and her family LIVE on News Center 7 at 11. Couch says her mom, Soni May Shaw, used Facebook like a scrapbook, and now those memories are gone. TRENDING STORIES: 6-year-old boy dies after drowning in Butler County City says arbitrator ignored 'simply obvious dangers' by reinstating fired police sergeant Suspect in murder of local 32-year-old father arrested in Kentucky 'My mom, she was incredible. I don't think I've ever met someone who didn't love her,' Couch said. 'She was diagnosed with cancer in June of 2023 and it started in her lungs. She has the BRCA gene, and it mutated to an untreatable and incurable brain cancer.' Shaw passed away last summer. 'She was a photographer, softball mom, a great grandma,' Couch said. 'She was actually kind of getting popular on TikTok out of nowhere. She posted, like, easy Sunday game day recipes to feed a family, because Sundays were her thing.' After her mom passed, Couch found comfort reading through old posts. One day, she went to check her mom's profile and it was memorialized. 'The only thing that I can see is my memories that she's tagged me in or stuff that I've tagged her in,' Couch said. Couch says she was shocked, and she immediately tried to find who had memorialized the page, but no one came forward. 'Somebody took that away from us,' Couch said. It made Couch curious. How simple is it to convince Facebook someone is dead? 'I made a fake Facebook. I made myself the legacy contact and then I reported it to memorialize it,' Couch said. 'I found some old lady picture on Facebook, made it her profile picture, I put her picture with a ChatGPT obituary and all you have to do- you don't have to be logged into Facebook- I just went ahead through a Safari browser, report - memorialized.' Couch says she has reached out to Facebook nine times since May and has only gotten one response. 'They basically told me that there was nothing that they could do. It was irreversible and once it's done, it's done,' Couch said. 'It's cruel and Facebook has to do something about it.' News Center 7 reached out to Facebook to see if it's possible to recover Couch's mother's profile, but we have not heard back. Couch says she is considering legal action, but she hopes it doesn't come to that. [SIGN UP: WHIO-TV Daily Headlines Newsletter]

Book Influencer Killed in Shocking Stabbing Incident

A popular Brazilian book influencer was tragically killed last week in a horrific stabbing incident. Tais Bruna de Castro, 36, was stabbed to death while working at the Beco Fino shopping center in Jundiaí, São Paulo on Monday, June 2. According to CNN Brasil, Castro was killed by Cláudio Elizeu, 40, a cleaner at the shopping complex. Castro was having lunch when she was attacked. Elizeu, who turned himself in to authorities and was arrested, said he killed the social media personality because she was not interested in his romantic advances. Elizeu reportedly stabbed Castro at least 20 times and also broke into an office area, where he damaged furniture, doors and windows. After news of Castro's death began circulating, the Instagram account she operated--Leitora Fashion, or "Reader Fashion--released a heartbreaking tribute post. "This week, our dear Tais Bruna, the owner of this profile, left us in a very sad and even unbelievable way," the caption for the post reads. "Fashion Reader was one of her joys. Talking about literature, suggesting new works and chatting with you guys here made her day happier. We, the family, sincerely appreciate all the messages and prayers dedicated to her. Her smile, her sweetness and all the joy she always spread will stay in our hearts forever. "Today heaven gained one of the most special people that has ever passed through this world. Tais, we will love you forever! ❤️." Book Influencer Killed in Shocking Stabbing Incident first appeared on Men's Journal on Jun 11, 2025

Becky G, Ivan Cornejo, Maná lead Latinx musicians' response to the ongoing L.A. ICE raids

A number of Latinx musicians have expressed their solidarity and support for immigrant communities via social media in the wake of immigration raids that have resulted in the arrest of 330 people in Southern California and the Central Coast. In a lengthy Instagram video posted Saturday, TV personality and two-time Grammy-nominated singer Chiquis held back tears as she addressed the raids and reminded her fans to 'treat people like you want to be treated.' 'United we stand, divided we fall apart, you guys,' she said. 'If all humans would to get together and be kinder and hold each other's hands and push people a little bit more in a positive way, uplift people, we would be so powerful.' Música Mexicana artist Ivan Cornejo shared in an Instagram post Tuesday that his father had been granted amnesty by the Reagan administration during the '80s. He punctuated his post by sharing the information for the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights and added that he'll continue to raise funds for CHIRLA throughout his tour. 'Words cannot express the sorrow that I feel for my community,' the 'Estas Dañada' singer, a native of Riverside, said. 'I see my mom, my dad and myself in many of you. I am speechless at the inhumanity that is affecting our Mexican and Hispanic communities.' 'The people being attacked today are not 'illegal aliens,' they are human beings with RIGHTS,' pop star Becky G said Tuesday in an Instagram post that paid tribute to her immigrant grandparents. 'We must understand that an attack on them is an attack on OUR DEMOCRACY and an attack on what this country was made to stand for.' The 'Otro Capitulo' singer also shared information about what to do if confronted by immigration agents, and listed several advocacy organizations to support. Los Aptos, a first-generation música Mexicana act band from Indiana, posted a segment of their interview with YouTube podcaster Pepe Garza describing their origins, and called for 'a system that is untouchable no matter what a— is in office.' In the same post, Los Aptos provided information on what to do if ICE knocks on your door and an infographic with the rights a person has if they are arrested. Fuerza Regida, one of the most streamed Latin music acts, offered their 'love and strength' to the Latinx community in an Instagram post Tuesday. 'We've been deeply moved by the events of this past week,' the band wrote in the statement. 'These are our people, our fans, the very communities that inspire our music.' Fher Olvera, the lead singer of legendary rock en español band Maná, posted a video on the group's official Instagram on Wednesday expressing his support for the immigrant community in L.A., and asked protesters to remain peaceful. 'That's how you are going to win,' Olvera said in Spanish. Eight-time platinum artist Junior H also chimed in Wednesday, sharing a photo captioned with 'No one is illegal in stolen land.' The 'Rockstar' singer also shared a post from his fashion brand, Sad Boyz Clothing, announcing that a portion of its sales would be donated to 'help cover the legal fees for families impacted by ICE Raids.' 'It's a small gesture, but one we believe matters— because when one of us hurts, we all do,' read the company's statement. The normally tight-lipped Texas band Grupo Frontera also chimed in, writing in an Instagram Story on Wednesday that they 'send strength and resilience to our migrant community.' 'We stand with you. As immigrants, we understand the pain, uncertainty and fear that many are experiencing,' the group said. 'It hurts to see our people go through this and that's why we want to speak out. We support you and we will never stop fighting for our community.'
