Martin County names Drew Robinson as new sheriff as Tim Manning retires
Sheriff Tim Manning announced he would be retiring after eight years of serving as the sheriff. Robinson will be in the role through the 2026 election.
Manning was awarded the Order of the Long Leaf Pine for his service.

'Governor Schwarzenegger has a 20 year history of battling gerrymandering, taking power from the politicians and returning it to the people where it belongs, and he believes gerrymandering is evil no matter who does it. He still stands by the rule we learn in pre-school: two wrongs don't make a right,' Daniel Ketchell, a spokesperson for the former governor, said in a statement earlier this year. DC mayor explains trip to Martha's Vineyard as Trump ramps up federal law enforcement presence
Washington, D.C., Mayor Muriel Bowser (D) said she left her city Thursday amid President Trump's crackdown and police takeover because she needed to pick her 7-year-old daughter up from camp, emphasizing she was in control the whole time. Bowser's exit, reportedly to Martha's Vineyard, had drawn widespread attention, including from the president, who posted on social media about her going to the island off Massachusetts known as a vacation hot spot and liberal enclave.
